Yummy bakery in downtown Napa!…read more Very homey and cozy in a convenient plaza with free parking and the perfect place for sweets after a meal in one of the nearby restaurants. The display cases house delicious pies, cheesecakes, cakes in a variety of sizes (individual to 6-8 servings) and flavors (lemon blueberry, dulce de leche, etc). There are also cookies, pastries, bars, brownies. For Mother's Day I got a 6 inch 3 layer chocolate mousse cake and large s'mores tart - both were decadent, rich and highly acclaimed by my family. The service was friendly but a bit curt since it was busy. Brownie points for allowing them to store my cakes in their fridge while I had lunch with my family.

The meringue rose like a delicate cloud, lightly sweet, airy, and beautifully toasted, each bite dissolving with just enough structure to remind you of its craft. Beneath it, the lemon filling struck that elusive balance: bright and vibrant, yet luxuriously smooth, with a decadence that never crossed into excess. It danced perfectly between tart citrus and gentle sweetness, leaving you reaching back for another forkful before you even realized it. The crust, often an afterthought in lesser pies, was executed with precision, thin, crisp, and just sturdy enough to support the layers without competing for attention. It framed the experience rather than distracting from it. Yes, it leaned toward the higher end in price, but this was not simply dessert, it was an experience worth every dollar. The table fell quiet in that rare, collective appreciation, followed by the inevitable chorus of "Where did you get this?" A showstopper in every sense, elevated, indulgent, and unforgettable.

Foil was great to keep my sandwich warm and not have my food soggy! Second thing I've noticed are the employees wearing name tags. Just seems a little tacky, just doesn't go with the bakery vibe. Overall this place never fails me. Would love to tell the owner herself but she's never around when I'm down there. Please visit this place if you're visiting Napa!

Overall? who would've thought an English muffin could be the reason you drive somewhere twice?…read moreCertainly not me. It's one of those foods that usually exists in the background of breakfast, something you barely think about. Model Bakery comes along and casually reminds you that even simple things can be incredible when done properly. The place itself is straightforward with no real indoor seating that we saw, but there's a nice patio and the smell alone is enough to pull you in. Everything felt fresh and warm. We also grabbed a croissant, which absolutely held its own Parking? Lot We had English Muffin (5/5): these are absurdly good. The kind of thing you plan to buy one of and somehow leave with a dozen. They smell almost like donuts when they're warm, with this buttery, slightly sweet aroma that hits you before the first bite. Lightly toasted, they develop the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft and airy inside. Honestly, all they need is butter. They're great on their own, even better with oatmeal and coffee Croissant (4.5/5): really solid croissant. Soft, buttery, and clearly made with care. It had that delicate pull and layered texture you want without becoming overly heavy or greasy. My only complaint is that it deserved butter and jam on the side to really complete the experience. Still, something I'd order again

But luckily, we were here at an odd hour on a weekday afternoon, and the line was minimal. The folks here were super friendly and helpful. I was here with my parents and they kind of knew what they wanted, but the folks are also kind of love us through some other options that we were interested in. For some of the basics, we got an epi baguette, a regular baguette, and I got some coffee. We picked up a few of the pastries to bring home some other family members as well. The place was beautiful and organized and so were the pastries. Everything was good. I had some of the baguette for the next day with some butter and some charcuterie meats for breakfast.

They also close early on weekdays (3PM) and close at 6 PM on weekends. There also tends to be a long line. Plus, some popular items tend to run out! You would have to be super dedicated like my friend Eva to wake up at 5 AM to pick up two giant bags of baked goods for her friends. The online menu is different from what they offer on-site. I remember the website didn't have tomato soup, but it was on the physical menu.

Unfortunately, my experience fell short in a few meaningful ways. I ordered a lavender coffee latte, which I was really looking forward to, but it lacked flavor and was disappointing enough that I chose not to purchase anything further. That alone might not have stopped me from returning, but what followed did. Knowing European culture, and especially Parisian cafés, are often very dog-friendly, and given Napa's well-known dog-loving atmosphere, I felt comfortable bringing my dog, who is a service animal. I was immediately asked to leave because only service animals are allowed, with the assumption made that my dog was not one. While he is in fact a service animal, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. There was no curiosity or neutral clarification... just an assumption and a request to leave. That moment really deflated the excitement I had walking in. Between the coffee experience and feeling unwelcome, I decided not to stay as long as planned or purchase anything further. I'm glad to see that others have had better experiences here, and the pastries certainly look lovely. I suppose those interested should trust other reviewers on that front. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I won't be returning.

We've been coming to Buttercream bakery for well over 55 years. It's our Christmas Eve tradition…read more We still keep it going even after my grandmothers passing. The past 3 years the customer service has went down, each year it gets worse and worse. This year was literally the icing on the cake. Literally! My mom has always called 3 weeks in advance to place our order. As she placed her order the lady was so rude to my mom, to the point my poor mom said I don't know if this is worth it anymore. But non the less we placed the order. Christmas Eve came and we were so happy taking the car ride of 45 minutes to pick up out sweeet treats and yummy goodness for Christmas Day! Wellll that changed very quickly when we walked in the door. Employees had grumpy faces on the Eyerolls were seen and cold shoulders were felt. Mind you I've been in this place with no standing room before, but today our number was 5 behind the person being helped, so barely anyone in there. We get our number called the young girl helping us was so new she had no idea the items names we even ordered, we had to repeat them 5 times, what really got me was I saw a new item and asked for it, when she went to bag it, I asked politely for a box because it had a frosting top, the older blonde lady under her breath told the girl "bag it", so she did, frosting part down in the bag! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. After that she asked what else did you want. At that point I was done and said that's it. So we left with what we ordered. If you thought we were done, we're not. Christmas came and we were so excited for our cakes, rolls and doughnuts. Our doughnuts were hard as a rock and frosting was wet and melted like they were frozen before we picked them up and our cake, the cake we've got every year for 50 years, was made incorrectly and they used buttercream to try to hide their mistakes. We spend a good amount of money and drive 45 minutes to come here, to get treated like crap and get crap mishap treats. Step your game up buttercream. People are talking and it's sad this gem of a place is not what it used to be. Also smile, it doesn't hurt anyone to show some kindness.
