I originally booked a Brazilian but changed my mind in the room cause the pain was too much. They still charged full Brazilian price for removing a extra few strays on top of the regular teaspoon and my specific person was not friendly and seemed irritated when I had a question. We have literally 15 minutes together for the whole appointment and I felt as though I was asking too much when I asked to remove a few strays. She stopped, looked to the side with an irritated face waiting for me to finish my question. Also the actual result was not smooth, left a bunch of extra strays and overall not happy with the product whatsoever. Waste of money + pain. Also felt like front desk didn't give a shit when I said it was only ok. She goes "that's amazing." Clearly didn't listen. This was all at 945am. I'd understand if it'd be a long day and people are tired, but this was an hour or so after they opened. read more

I have the monthly membership which I highly recommend if you come at least once a month. The spray tan artists at this location are much more talented than the Upper West Side location so I started coming to this location even though it's further away. read more

Such a fabulous team over at S & B at the UES location. Easy access to the Q train, & a short distance to Central Park, too. I stopped by for a spray tan as I had a photo shoot lined up with STRONG Fitness Magazine two days later. The girls helped with deciding that level 2 would be the best choice to stick with . I ran the '97, '99 and '03 NYC Marathons, and though now my training is mostly 2-3 days a week of weights with 5 days a week of cardio conditioning (walking, eliptical or rowing), the "polishing touches" of a spray tan are greatly appreciated and needed at a photo shoot at my age of 55+. I recommend Sugared & Bronzed for any special occasion, whether it's an anniversary, wedding or special date. You'll love your results:-). Clean, professional and very nice staff. It seems like everyone was satisfied with their experience when leaving this place including me but my only complaint was my tan was definitely not even. It is natural looking, doesn't smell and is not sticky but one arm is lighter than the other as well as my legs and all in different areas. I'm not sure I will try it again. I am updating this review after being contacted by the business manager who offered to refund my money etc. that means a lot to me and I appreciate that. Just got a beautiful spray tan. I find it to be the most natural. The staff is always pleasant and they do a nice job. My tan is even and natural. The place is always so clean and they have nice booths for tanning with space to change. I also love that it lasts almost 10 days! read more

After a not so great experience my previous visit, I was a bit apprehensive on returning. I love this location because it's so convenient to get to from the Bronx, and everyone is extremely pleasant. This time, I was sugared by a sugarista who was helping out the upper east side location. Corrine was amazing! She was quick and so gentle. Got a Brazilian today and it was not the best experience. The sugarist got sugar stuck and kept tugging at the same place making it ver hurtful and raw, and was going over areas repeatedly with hard sugar with so much pressure that was so painful. When she was finished I was left with a lot of hair at the bottom and was told my skin was too Moist. I then asked her if she can please remove some more and to also tweeze. You can tell you didn't want to do it was in a rush and was hurting me. Being that she did the service despite my experience I still wanted to tip, at the register I was basically forced to tip a certain amount without warning or an option. Last time I checked the customer decides how much tip is given based off the experience and so forth. Not coming here again, I was left with hair and raw, rushed out, then had the Audacity to force a tip read more

Have been coming to sugared and bronzed regularly for a little over two years now , and have to say this is one of my favorite locations. All the staff here are consistent and are very accommodating and will take the time to explain things to you if needed . Highly recommend sugaring over waxing as it's less painful and last longer . Writing this review because I didn't realize how painful my experience was until I went somewhere else for a Brazilian. When I got it done at sugared and bronzed a few months ago it was my first time ever getting waxed and I thought the excruciating pain was just how it was but I'm now realizing that is the furthest thing from the truth. I don't know if my tech was just inexperienced, but I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy. They apply the sugar in the opposite direction of the growth and the application alone had me quietly tearing up. The tech didn't count down or tell me to breath out as she ripped the sugar off my skin. I have a pretty high pain tolerance but this was excruciating on another level. Was so nervous to get it done again but after going somewhere else I now know this is not normal at all. read more

It was a pleasant experience. Place was clean and no wait time. Sugaring specialist was very welcoming and friendly and she was quick as well. The whole process took around 20-30 mins. Bonus - if you are first time customer you will get next one free. They also offer monthly membership of $49 that can be used once a month and if you skip the month for any reason amount will be added to your next month. However, if you would like to have sugaring two times in a month then you will need to pay regular price of $59 for the second sugaring in a month. I've tried so many different places for sugaring and I definitely recommend them. So far they are the best in NYC. And also if you are considering sugaring over the waxing, go for it! Your skin will be much smoother and hair regrows a lot slower compared to waxing. Where waxing is very painful and leaves you with skin irritation. read more
