So excited that S+B finally opened in UES! I was so excited that they opened in my neighborhood that I booked both a sugaring and spray tanning appointment as soon as I could get in. (FYI, they book up quickly so be sure to book in advance!). Just as they informed me, my first brazilian sugaring felt like the same pain level as wax. My second one was much easier and my third was where I was like "oooook I'm never going back to waxing" lol. My ingrowns that seemed to surface after my first appt (they warned me of this and compared it to a small breakout after a facial, aka the bad stuff beneath the surface is getting worked out) had disappeared my 3rd brazilian and they said that continuing to sugar regularly would prevent them in the future. I actually believe this because normally I see ingrowns after every single wax and I haven't seen any since my session last week. (They reminded me that my at home maintenance plays a part in this too- I have to exfoliate and moisturize regularly, but not immediately before my next appt. I've also had two spray tans here- both have been the perfect amount of color! Since I've now used both of my new client specials (you get one for both your first brazilian and your first sugaring session), I've signed up for "The Double" membership so that I can get a brazilian and a tan every month at a pretty large discount. I may step it up to "The Triple" membership in the spring when I start to tan more often because the savings are pretty enticing. read more

When I came in, I was asked if I was a new client and as I made the account the night before, I said yes. The person sugaring me was generally nice but she kept missing hairs and tugging twice which was painful. I mentioned a few places with stubborn hairs and she assured me she would tweeze the rest...and then did not, even after I asked. I just did the rest at home. I did not receive any new member price (or was not told what the benefit would be) and was charged for a standard tip instead of being asked how much % I wanted to pay. Additionally, the person who did my sugaring was the one checking me out, so it would have been awkward to adjust my tip with her. read more

I've seen and heard horror stories about spray tans gone wrong so I was a little skeptical. For starters, the facility is absolutely immaculate - clean and modern with very friendly staff! They answer all of your questions, esp if it's your first time. I also found their website FAQs very helpful to read before my session. The process itself was very straightforward and quick and I loved how natural the tan looked after rinsing off. I got a level 2 tan, which gives me a perfect glow, and the color is still pretty intact 6 days later.
