Since it opened we've made several visits and always a pleasure to chat with the staff and the food is very good and reasonably priced food.

Not impressed at all. I love city sushi and that's were my business will go. The one star was for the beautiful atmosphere. That's about it. The tempura tasted re heated as the batter was chewy . The philly rolls fall apart as you pick them up. There is little bugs flying around you as your eating and that is just gross to me. I get they just opened and may not have been aware, but those are kinks you should look for before serving food and opening a restaurant. Services was so so. Won't come back . read more

Ok, so one of the things I saw on the menu and what ultimately wanted me to try this place out was an appetizer, Spicy Edamame. Unfortunately, this is their soft opening and it was not available. I was disappointed but their attentiveness and delish food won me over. Yes, their sushi is smaller than usual but I love it that way. Seriously I don't know why I punish myself by going here. I've given it 3 chances. There was 2 tables in the place. The service was terrible. The food came up wrong 2 times, they forgot to add the cream cheese to my daughters roll so they just tossed it on the top. They brought us other people's food. I mean seriously. You've got 4 chefs and 2 tables. You can't keep that straight. Done with this place. Went here for my birthday and I was impressed by the quality and freshness of the sushi. I did the all you can eat and got my money's worth. They even gave me a birthday roll and it was fire(literally) they brought it to the table in a hot skillet and on fire. The only reason I gave this restaurant a 4 was because the a/c was out and when u walk in there's a sign on the door saying "dishwasher needed" might scare some people away. The service was good, the food was mehh. We wanted to order popcorn lobster roll but only to find out that it is not offered anymore - maybe they should cross it out on the menu? We ended ip ordering gyoza, cajun tuna roll, shrimp special roll and Rock n' Roll. I can tell they don't make the gyoza in the house, which is fine and tasted ok. Cajun tuna roll had wayyyy too much mustard sauce on it and all I could taste was the sauce, not the tuna. Shrimp special roll tasted bland and kinda off.. I've also had a better eel sauce. What really got me to write this review is the Rock N' Roll. It's supposed to be a baked scallop mix on top of a california roll. No exaggeration, there were only 4 pieces of scallops and the rest was all crab meat. What the heck???? If I am paying $10.95 for a roll, I expect a decent amount of toppings on my roll, not a stingy portion of 4 pieces. Outrageous. I would probably never go back, and if I do, will not order those rolls. read more

Very good food! Our favorite was the Kani Kani roll and the yucaipa roll. They do not have all you can eat, but the sushi is reasonable. Staff us very nice and professional. We got seated right away. read more

Ordered to go from here a few weeks back and I am ALWAYS looking for a good BSCR (Baked Scallop California Roll). They call it the Rock'n Roll (#22). It was eh.... The scallops were a little overcooked and some were burned... The eel sauce on top didn't have the usual taste I was used to. I felt a little let down. Even the presentation was lackluster. The pieces fell apart when I picked them up.I also ordered a Rainbow Roll (#20). On the online menu, it said assorted fish. Okay, I'm cool with that, but I had no idea it included escolar. Gross. If you don't have seafood knowledge look it up and you will clearly understand. The staff who greeted me was friendly, which was very pleasant. I loved this place until tonight. I was surprised when I noticed that I have never given a review on this place. I've been here many times. Every time we order, we ask that we get no ginger at all. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes I have to ask them to remake it when the ginger is on the same plate as my sushi. This has never been a problem and I kind of expect it. Tonight things went very wrong. We had a new waiter, younger guy. My first plate came and had ginger right up on my sushi. I asked that it get remade as I had already asked for it to not be there at all. We were sitting right next to the sushi bar so when the waiter let them know I didn't want ginger, the sushi chef just took it off and rearranged my sushi. The waiter then asked for it to be remade altogether. The sushi chef got such an attitude and took the plate. He set it on the counter in front of him where I could not see it. Literally like 20 seconds passed and then he handed it back to the waiter. I don't think he had enough time to remake it and when I saw it, it was stacked just the way it was rearranged after removing the ginger. The waiter must have overheard me talking about it because he reassured me that it was completely remade. I took his word for it but was very worried about the sushi chef that was now annoyed with me and in charge of making my food. I kept an eye on my waiter and any food leaving the bar. I watched the waiter and sushi chef exchange serveral looks of annoyance and then each of them glanced over at me. A few minutes later, the waiter went to pick up a plate at the bar. I saw him look down at the plate, (that was blocked from my view) point at the plate and shake his head. Then the sushi chef picked up something off of the plate and as he raised it off, I was able to see that it was ginger. As the waiter placed that same plate onto my table, I asked him if ginger was ever on the plate. He told me that there was not. I then said that I saw the chef take it off and the waiter just turned around and walked away. I was unable to eat more than half of my food because all I could do was wonder if it was tasting different because I was tasting the ginger, there was something wrong with it or that I'm just tripping. That's no way to enjoy a meal. While I will never be back again, they should know that they need better communication between the staff. The sushi chef needed to actually be told that I didn't want any ginger. I certainly wasn't saying it just to make conversation. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had a problem with this as it happens almost every time I've been there. It's just always been fixed in a professional manner before tonight. They are open late on Saturdays which is wonderful for the night owl crowd. They have a wonderful sushi selection and some of the best Sakis I have ever tried. Try the floral saki (pink bottle) and the strawberry saki!!!! read more

Daniel is a young sushi chef. He takes his time with each and every order. The menu has a few glitches that need to be reworked. It is clean and good quality fish. The restaurant is still new and still missing a cool new unique roll...I would stay tuned to see if anything spectacular comes up. Is it worth the dine? To try once is a high recommendation. Keep in mind still a very new restaurant and service is nice but slow. They do not uni so call if you are looking for specific fish. read more

We really liked it! Good food that was flavorful and fresh. Service was good, we had a young guy wait on us. The food came out quickly. Really like the nice atmosphere of this place, too. We have a lot of dive restaurants around here and sometimes you just want to go somewhere nicer! This will be our go-to sushi place from now on! read more

I have been here about 5 times and I have always been happy with my order. I have yet to dine in considering I have 3 small children and going anywhere with 3 small children is hard, but it looks very clean and nice for dine in. This place just opened so we were very excited to try it out. A few pros and cons from our visit.... Pro: It looks nicely decorated. There are three flat screen TVs at the bar. They are family friendly with kids meal options and high chairs. Con: The air conditioner was out during our visit so the restaurant was really warm. This is slightly alarming when consuming raw fish that needs to be maintained at a certain temperature but let's hope their refrigerators worked. The waitress, in general, just seemed really lost. She kept trying to give us chopsticks , like 3 or 4 times after we already had some. She brought food out to the wrong tables. Several times. We got some orders twice. She had no idea what the food was or what came with the meals. Questions were answered with "I don't know." The food came out at odd times. The kids meal came out 15 minutes before anything else. Then the appetizers. Then 40 minutes later, my husband's meal and then 10 minutes later, mine. So we had a bored, full child way before our meals even came out. The waitress' way of taking our order was to use a highlighter on the laminated menu. Only she got highlighter all over our paper napkins. We didn't get any soy sauce dishes. It took about 5 minutes to catch her to ask for some. We got the jalapeño poppers and the dragon egg. I thought the dragon egg was pretty creative. The jalapeño poppers fell apart easily and were a little more messy. We were hungry though and scarfed them up. The teriyaki chicken was overcooked. Very dry. We also got two of the lunch specials. The menu said that the lunch specials came with soup, salad, and rice. We got none of this. When we asked about it, the waitress had no idea that the meal came with any of that. We showed her the menu. She left and brought us back soup and salad. She came back several minutes later and asked if everything was okay. We asked about the rice (we normally wouldn't have cared if they forgot it, as we are pretty easy going, but we had planned to share the rice with our toddler, who had become so hungry and uneasy for the hour we had been there that she was starting to cry.) The waitress asked to see the menu again, mumbled something about rice, and left again, eventually returning with rice. By this time, we had lost all containment on the starving toddler and had to take her outside so that she wouldn't disturb anyone else. The waitress came over when the toddler started to cry to ask if she was "okay". I'm too polite to tell her anything other than "she's fine", but I was pretty irritated by that point. We finally have this rice, though, and the toddler is too upset to eat it and my husband can't eat his because he had to leave the table to go outside with her. The sushi was decent for the area. It seemed fresh, but it was the typical previously frozen fish you'd normally see this far inland. I think the food here has a lot of potential. It's good. It is pricier. But sushi usually is. I'd like to say that this experience was all due to the fact that they'd only be opened for a a few days and considered this their "soft opening". I gave them an extra star just to give them a chance. However, the meal experience here was pretty terrible. I couldn't really recommend the place to anyone. Hopefully things will improve with their service as they get more familiar with the business and the menu. read more

One star removed 9/20/17. Nice little sushi bar. Vegetarian friendly and excellent service. I usually order the avocado and vegetable rolls. Tempura and miso soup are excellent. Parking can be an issue. That's not the restaurant's fault but the property management. I went last Wednesday around 6pm and I got the last parking slot. Went with my wife a few weeks ago. Almost all the tables were messed from the previous customers. The table across from us had a lot of food on the floor, apparently from a slobby kid. It was still there when we left 45m later. Hopefully this issue is resolved. (BTW, we did let the server know about this situation and we got a shoulder-shrug in acknowledgement) read more

Great food & service!! Today my sister, her husband, & I went here for lunch. They are visiting from Pennsylvania & wanted to have something they can't easily find over there. My sister ordered a crunch roll & a Beaumont roll. Her husband ordered the red dragon roll & I had ordered a crunch roll as well. All the food was delicious & fresh. I think this restaurant has some kinks to work out. When we sat down, they asked us if we were ready to order 3 times within 5 minutes, which gave us the impression that we were being rushed. After we received some of our food and waiting on the rest of our order they asked us twice if we were waiting for anything else after already telling them we were. The overall flow of the restaurant seemed a bit chaotic and disorganized. However, the food is pretty good. For the size of the rolls and sushi it is a little pricey but the sushi tasted fresh and our rolls came out right when they were ready. Overall, maybe I'll go back because it was good, just hoping they work out the kinks. read more

The food was fast and fresh. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. The decor added to the pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the Japanese burrito and give it two thumbs up! The calamari was lightly breaded and the yammi yammi was just spicy enough. We recommend this local hot spot to anyone. When this place first opened I was impressed with atmosphere, service, and quality of food. There is a female sushi chef that does a great job with presentation and doesn't overcook your baked rolls. That leads me to my 2 STAR REVIEW...My husband and I decided to go for dinner during the week and was so disappointed, we sent back our deep fried tuna roll and burnt mussels. The only reason I gave this review 2 stars is because our server was great. he was apologetic and stuck up for us when the sushi chef argued(loudly) it is what we ordered and the mussels weren't burnt. THEY WERE BLACK AND CHARD! The chef kept giving us dirty looks while we finished our beers. We will probably give this place another chance but not anytime soon. Was really hopeful for a good sushi joint in town. The other two in cherry valley are just alright. not very impressed with this place either. Walked in and smelt the fish like it hadn't been kept cold. Ordered anyways. Sushi roll menu exactly the same as Tokyo sushi in redlands/yucaipa. Sub par rolls.
