I found a great stylist at this salon and had been going there for some time. I had my hair cut and styled, highlights and various services including root touch-ups. The stylist changed my color as I wanted the gold hues taken out. When she first did this, I told her that at times I may like to do the touch ups myself as it gets quite expensive to come in every 4 weeks. I was not advised that they do not give out formulas. I recently had a family emergency and had to leave town in a hurry. I canceled my appointment for a root touch up 4 days in advance. I called the salon and asked for the level of the color so I could do it myself as I was in an unfamiliar town due to a family emergency. The first day I did not receive a call back from my stylist or the receptionist who assured me that one of them would get back to me. The next day I called again and spoke with another reception and explained that I was waiting for a call back from the day before. I later received a TEXT message from the receptionist stating that they do not give out formulas and would not provide me with the information. I understand that this is the policy for some salons however I feel that there are exceptions to every rule and if you value a customer, you make these exceptions. I was in a difficult situation, in a bind and the salon instead of treating me like a valued customer caused a lot of added stress for me. Not even returning a call but sending me a text message. I advised them that I would not be back. I saw that I had a missed call from the salon after I advised that I would not be back. I don't know if it was the salon owner or manager as they did not leave a message. I do not care to see a reply from the salons management. I've read previous Yelp reviews and that's always what's said, I wish you would have talked to me. I told them, in my text reply that I was out of town due to a family emergency and instead of them being sympathetic and helpful to my situation I was treated in an uncaring manner and not as a valued customer. If they had a change of heart and were going to assist me, due to my situation, when I missed the call, they could have left a message for me to call them back, but they did not. So, I don't want to see a reply, I wish you would have talked to me. I am appalled to see this reply from business Mgr. Jennifer S. as it far from correct. 1- I was never advised that formulas were not given out. Not initially or at any time until my situation last week. 2- If I called 4 weeks in advance to cancel, WRONG, it was 4 days. why would there be a cancelation fee? This just happened days ago, last week. 3- Called 3 times, but there was no answer. WRONG 4- The receptionist DID NOT advise that someone would call me. I was only sent a text. Another reason I was upset. I really feel for the young stylist, who is excellent and trying to build her business. It is because of the salons policies and treatment of clients that have caused her to lose business. read more

I've been going here for a couple years now and have only seen Megan. She is very nice and welcoming and good at what she does. I feel as though she listens to what I want (even though it's usually the same, just a different tone), but she helps to achieve the looks I show her! My hair has grown a ton since I started seeing her, as I followed up with the trims she recommended and I no longer need to wear clip in extensions! I also want to add that I don't ever feel pressured to have a conversation with her, don't get me wrong, she's so sweet and personable. But I am on the quieter side and sometimes just want to relax and read or focus on my puzzles. The salon was recently renovated and is much bigger now and no longer smells like subway! I could literally fall asleep in the chairs by the shampoo bowls. I feel like I've never had a comfy shampoo bowl chair, it's always kinking your neck in a funny way or leaks water down your back, but not these ones. Overall, I'm happy with this salon! read more

My wife had been coming here since it was opened by Jen quite a few years ago. Before that, she followed her at another location, however: Anytime she goes, Jen had been nothing but pleasant to her, and she's always made her haircut/color etc exactly what she has wanted. I have yet to hear her come home and complain about her service. Yes, this is a little more expensive, but this isn't a chain beauty salon. Look, if my wife travels an hour and 10 min to see her...it's well worth the travel. Went there for the first time last night and had a great experience. I had long hair (almost to lower back) and wanted to cut it to a lob so I can donate the rest of the hair. Mag was extremely helpful with this process. She sectioned the hair into a few ponytails for initial cut. They were later packed into a baggie so that I could mail it in to the donation center. When it comes to the cut itself, I just love it. Mag did an awesome job with the haircut, thinning my hair out and styling it. She was very attentive and receptive to my requests. While I was very satisfied with their hair services (5 star degrading into 4 star) I would rate one woman on their pedicure less than one star. Its all mixed so how can you rate? My stylist was 5 star compared to my old one back before 2008. But then she became 4 star compared to a newest one who did a better job while she was on maternity leave. This is a moving target. The efforts put into the business to reopen after all of this Covid 19 pandemic issues has been noticed. It is very clean, they are very careful as well keenly aware of how important it is to maintain a sanitized station at all times. The constant procedure to keep social / physical distancing as a practice is strongly adheared at all times when her clients enter the salon. I witnessed every person that walked in had been treated in the same friendly, safe and professional manner. After being a client of hers for 14 years, she never disappoints and although the times have changed (which is a given) her talent has always been constantly exceptional!! I was a bit apprehensive about trying out a relatively new salon for my wedding. However, Suite 115 had received some great reviews, and amazing prices for their services so I figured that I should try it out. I just had my hair trial for my wedding and I can honestly say that the entire experience was wonderful. The salon was located in a nice shopping center in beautiful Bloomingdale and although it was a bit small, it was incredibly warm and inviting. The decor is quite chic with an immense amount of sparkly and fun products to purchase for proms, weddings or just for fun. I had arrived a few minutes late to the salon, but everyone was incredibly kind regarding my lack of time awareness and quickly brought me over to my chair. I was immediately asked what my wedding was all about and what I truly wanted in a hairstyle. Angelica, my stylist, quickly got to work and was incredibly talkative and kind the entire time. They even provided extra chairs for my maid of honor and fiance so that they did not have to wait in the sitting area! After only about thirty minutes or so, my style was done and it was GORGEOUS. It was honestly nothing like I had pictured, but everything that I truly wanted for a romantic, vintage wedding. I will be getting married in just a few weeks and I am so thrilled that Suite 115 is my new go-to salon. There are so many things to stress out about while planning a wedding that it is a wonderful feeling to have a reliable, friendly and talented stylist for the big day! As a city chick who has tried many different salons but has often left less-than-pleased, I was pleasantly delighted when some of my friends and I stopped by to have our hair done for a wedding, along with the bride herself. The girls who worked on us worked fast and did a fantastic job with everyone's hair - which ranged from extremely complex and technical hair-dos, to simple blow-outs, to styling difficult-to-manage hair into an array of curls in an Old Hollywood fashion, to mother-of-the-bride. The salon has a great energy about it - located in a new, upscale shopping plaza, the salon resembles a hip loft that is decorated in bold accents, including ceiling-mounted retractable blow dryers, free-standing, double-sided mirrors, a modern take on a crystal chandelier, and a nice selection of jewelry and women's accessories. It's a fun place to be and if you're waiting, there's a comfy sofa bench with a bunch of current magazines (and no annoying old '80s hairstyle books.) Suite 115 offers a full range of hair, nail, and massage services. The owner employs a staff of experienced stylists of all personality types - customers of all ages will feel at ease coming here and this is reflected in the diverse clientele that come here. For a 1-year young salon, this place does extremely well as it is quite busy and appointments are strongly recommended. I'd definitely recommend this place and will make a point to go here whenever I am in the area. Let's start at the beginning. (But make sure you read to the end) My usual hairdresser was booked the two weeks leading up to her going to Italy so I needed to find a new one because I really wanted to cut my hair off. (Level 7 blonde highlights over brown and about the length of my elbows) I had decided to go bold and short for the start of a new academic year. My thoughts were to leave the past in the past...and part of that past included the hair I had. I did my research on yelp before decided who I should trust with my mane. I landed on Suite 115 because of their outstanding ratings on here and some of the reviews I had read prior to my appointment. I get an appointment with Gina and the day finally arrives...and of course I have a good hair day the day I'm chopping it off! Ugh. (Also, because I checked in on yelp I got a free mani with my haircut! That was cool.) I had an idea of what I wanted so I showed her a few pictures and we kind of just ran with it. I wanted a bold red/purple color and a little shorter than shoulder length but choppy/edgy cut to it. We mixed a few colors from the palette together and were hoping for the best. What I did not like, however, was that I had to tell Gina to put a fill over my hair since I had a double processed highlight over medium brown hair. I told her this and she disagreed with me but then went into the back and came out and told me I was right. I told ya... The whole time I just didn't feel a professional presence from her and she was friendly but didn't make that much effort to keep a conversation going for the couple hours I was in the chair. After everything was said and done that day I thought my hair was great. The color I must say ended up being almost exactly what I wanted just less purple than I imagined. But maybe next time. *Here is where my review went from 4/5 stars to 2/3* The next day I realize that there was something very wrong with the cut, there was no texture and no layers. After leaving the salon that day, I thought that after trying to style it myself it would look different. I always have that problem (idk if it's a regular thing for women and their hair) where I go to the salon and it takes me washing it myself for it to feel like my hair again. Especially when I get it colored. So a day or two goes by and it's not just my hair being weird after being in a salon but the cut was terrible. It was thicker on the bottom than the rest of the hair and like I said there was no depth to it at all. The opposite of what I told her. I also thought I saw spots in the color on the back of my head but I think it was just the lighting now that I've let it set a while. I was very, very upset by how my hair came out. So I contacted the salon to speak with the manager and explained it was urgent. They told me Jennifer wasn't in but I could email her. I did and she responded quickly and told me she had a short opening the next day to get it fixed. Luckily they did not charge me for the fix and she explained to my why the issues I was having happened. After she texturized the sh*t out of my hair, I left with it being how I wanted it. There are some spots that are extremely short but that's just me getting used to the length after having it being so long. I'm not sure if I will return here for a cut, and if I do I will book it with Jennifer, but possibly color, I guess we will see. read more

I feel very lucky to have found Angelica! Take this from a person who is very hard to please and has gone through a few stylists before finally feeling complete! I drive to from the city to see her along with my boyfriend (he gets his haircut and I get my hair cut and colored). Although she was recommended by a good friend, at first I was apprehensive due to how picky I am and trying a new stylist can always make anyone feel uneasy. She was patient with me during the month of me sending her questions, pictures and ideas of what she would do. When I finally settled in her chair chair she didn't rush but reviewed everything we spoke about, made a few very honest suggestions and off we went! I, for the first time in years, could not be happier! Its a great feeling to know that I no longer have to search for a stylist and feel 110% comfortable with her! She is very reasonably priced and will provide you with exactly what every person looks for in a stylist. Rushes through my appointment ( only 20 min) and didn't even cut it in anyway that resembled what I was going for. I liked my cut the last time. I HATE this time. I said something to the manager and I'll I got was, I tell my staff to do better. I could have gone to walk-in place and gotten better service and cut. I went there for a no-chip manicure one time and it was probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I got it done, then 3 days later it started peeling off, then I went back to get it back done and then I went on vacation about 2 days later and it started peeling off again! Because I was on vacation so there was nothing I could do about it, but I just was not happy that a no-chip that can last 2 weeks peeled off in a matter of days. I paid $35 for a manicure here and it immediately peeled and I've paid $20 for a manicure elsewhere and it lasts 2 weeks+. I just was not happy for what I paid. SO I never write reviews, but this specific experience that I had was SO BAD that I need to provide a review. I had decided that I was only going to select "vendors" for my wedding based on referrals---suite115 came recommended. So, I reached out and tried to connect. First red flag should have been that I had to reach out via phone and email at least 10 times before I finally got upset enough to demand a response. From here on out the experience has been horrible--they confirmed my WEDDING appointment for hair and makeup, then 3 months later sent me a "sent from my iPhone" message that they were no longer willing to confirm. Ultimately I think this salon is the most unprofessional salon I have ever encountered. Not to mention that when you mess with a wedding confirmation after confirming THREE MONTHS LATER I think you deserve the most low ratings possible. If you are the owner (jenn?) I highly recommend you either fire Corrine or reach out to Your potential bridal clients directly as she is clearly not professional or competent to deal with customer service. read more

I'm new to the area and was looking for a nice salon to try out and came across Suite 115. The reviews looked great and it's only about 10 minutes from my house so I scheduled an appointment for a haircut. The girl on the phone was very friendly and quick but made sure that she confirmed what stylist I would be seeing, what time and explained their payment/gratuity policy. Which is just simply you can't tip your stylist on your credit card even though they accept that as payment which I've found to be standard at most higher end salons. My stylist was Megan, she was friendly and did a good job cleaning up my layers and trimming all the yucky ends off. When you're new to the salon, the conversation is usually pretty minimal seeing as you don't quite know your stylist yet. But if I planned on being a repeat client I'd hope that would change with time. Overall the salon was very modern and chic, well set up and CLEAN! My Stylist Gina was soo nice- and made the apointment for the very next day- and She Did an Awesome Job! My hair was long and I wanted a short Bob, she was right on the money with what I had in mind, took the time to show some options, the color came out just how I wanted. I had scheduled an appointment here, I repeated the time back to the woman over the phone to make sure I heard her correctly (thinking to myself that the time she said, seemed very early), she confirmed it. I showed up, the salon wasn't even open yet. I waited about an hour. Once everyone started arriving I was told that my appointment was made for much later than I was told on the phone. The time they said it was scheduled for would have been right during the ceremony of the wedding I was getting my hair styled for - therefore I would have never knowingly made an appointment for that time. I felt that I was very nice and understanding about it. I told them how I repeated the time back to the stylist that made my appointment and that she confirmed it with me. But that I was open to chalking it up as a mutual misunderstanding. I was there only for a hair curl and style. I spoke to three different women at the salon and not one of them took any sort of responsibility for the mistake. Each one told me that no one would have ever confirmed such an early time and made me feel as if they were accusing me of lying or trying to pull a fast one on them. For such a simple appointment they didn't seem to put any effort into trying to fit me in. I ended up calling Mario Tricoci down the street. They were able to fit me in right away and were super nice about it. Like I said, it was just a curl and style so Mario T did it within 30 minutes and it looked great. I walked out of this salon with no intention of ever going back. While I understand we are human and we all make mistakes and I'm sure the woman on the phone simply misheard me when I repeated the early time back to her, I feel the biggest issue here was the lack of customer service. If I were in their shoes I would have said, "I am sorry for the misunderstanding and any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will reach out to our stylists on staff and see if anyone has any openings this morning and we will work to fit you in." They never once apologized nor accepted any fault for the misunderstanding. Made no effort to fit me in and made me feel as if I was arguing my case over what was said on the phone v. what was heard when really the bigger issue should have been, how are we going to fix this so that this customer can walk out here thinking to herself, "wow that was a rough start but I'm impressed with how accommodating they were." read more

I used to go to Executive Tan to get the occasional spray tan but when they were bought out I had to find a new spot. Suite 115 showed up on yelp so I gave it a try. First time I went was just for a "night out" and Danielle did a great job making me look natural. Second time I went I was going on vacation and wanted it a little deeper and again Danielle mixed it up perfect. Pro's - they spray a Ph balancer on your skin first and they can mix the color to whatever you desire. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the room is a little lacking... it was pretty cold and would prefer bigger fans to dry off. It seems they might in the midst of making updates?
