Wouldn't trust any ever again and definitely wouldn't trust any locations where Shaun is the area manager! After professionals claim negligence on Valvoline's end caused $13k in damages, Shaun boastfully dared my service manager for me to take him to court because he "wins these cases all the time!" Funnily enough, Shaun only calls me on recorded lines but calls the service manager from other (personal?) phone numbers. Service manager and mechanics discovered this leak is supposedly responsible for the damages which Valvoline likely caused and DEFINITELY missed after they changed the oil! We brought the car back after discovering leaking oil and they told us it was fine! Valvoline Social Media team, don't bother responding. The Judge, Jury, and Executioner (Shaun) already made the final decision and closed the claim on his own. Didn't provide any evidence, paperwork, or answer my questions. He told me not to call. I've always loved the service I get from Valvoline in Quincy, MA; but today was exceptional! I was leaving a doctor's appointment nearby for my 93-year-old mother one of my tires was extremely flat. I had called AAA earlier in the day because of this and they just added air and said I should be fine to drive on it. After the doctor's appointment, I somehow made it to Valvoline and THANK GOD I did. Sam the manager went well above and beyond. There was an issue with my spare tire, so he spent a good amount of time fixing that (with the help of Brandon!) and got it done. He was able to get my spare tire on, so I was able to get my mother and myself safely home. I seriously don't know what I would have done. If we called for a tow, my Mom wouldn't have been able to get in the tow truck so Sam was seriously a God send. I'm not doing justice to all of the work he did. He got a million tools and did not give up. I know there was an issue with this spare because AAA couldn't figure it out and my own mechanic couldn't either. God Bless Sam! And Brandon! read more

I always get my oil changes at Valvoline and typically have absolutely no issues with my oil changes until my recent visit to the Valvoline located in Quincy, MA. I was able to get an oil change from this location on Nov 27th, 2021 and by January 12th, 2022, my car's oil change light turned on indicating it needed an oil change. Mind you, I barely drive the car since I work remotely. Due to this, I ended up having my car inspected to make sure that I didn't have any leaks. While getting it inspected we were able to see that the car had absolutely zero oil in the engine (and I have no leaks in my car). The mechanic even found it concerning given how recent I got the oil change. He advised me to go back to this location and speak to the manager but after reading reviews of this manager, I don't even want to waste my time or energy. Valvoline destroyed my engine by not tightening my oil filter all the way. the worst part is they will not take responsibility for it! I am in recovery and going through a divorce and Valvoline and had to spend $6,600 on a used engine replacement. Even worse I am currently working as an Uber driver to try to get back on my feet and they took away my only income stream! I hired a lawyer but they still will not take responsibilit! As far as oil changes go, this place is pretty good. I was in and out real quick, they were thorough, very communicative and kind. Much better than any experience I've had at any Jiffy Lube or the old Lube Lab in Quincy. ***BEWARE AT ALL COSTS*** My car was serviced at this location and shortly after the service my car started leaking oil. Upon inspection by a trusted mechanic we found a note on my oil filter reading "F*ck you" which causes me to believe the oil leak was no accident, it was done with Malicious intent. When reaching out to company the manager enformed me he talked to his team and was sorry that the note was never meant for me to read. He then stated this was all he could do and did not apologize. When I went there a guy told me that the person who did this to my car no longer works there due to something similar. So they zip tied. But next day it loosened again. I have a 2015 535xi BMW. I have been doing my oil changes at BMW since i had the car. It is usually $150 for an oil change that gets done every 15000 miles. Since the bmw in boston is slight inconvenient i went to Valvoline because i was overdue and needed it done asap. First of i got a $46 groupon. Plus additional charges for extra quarts (which was expected) & extra charge for a "special filter" $15 total came out to be $80.00. Which is cheap still. All said and done they told me to come back in 3,000 miles ?! I have never heard of a full synthetic oil change in 3000 miles. The least was 5,000. My car is only 50,000 miles. Lets compare prices Valvoline 3,000 miles for $80(with groupon) Vs. Bmw $150 for 15,000. If you go with vavoline you would be paying $400 for what you pay at BMW of $150. On top they do not use what is factory recommended Mobile 1 oil. In summary, just stick with going to your trusted BMW dealership. In response to the companies response below: If you guys read all the other reviews it seems there is a "miscommunication" on when to get on oil change for everyone else. Don't go here - save your car... Went here in August 15, 2022 and I am now at a my car dealership with CERTIFIED technicians November 1, 2022. Like a previous reviewer, there was absolutely NO OIL in the car. How? And with a crappy loop hole of "45 days" there is no such thing as refund. I spent $103... Won't be going back ever again!!! Cant put oil filters on correctly, which almost caused my engine to go. Thankfully my starter went in my car and had to bring it in to the mechanic. I also had an oil leak and when they went to look into that the filter wasn't put in place at all and apparently have been leaking oil since my change at the end of April. Had my started went, I was probably would have had to replace my engine. So if you don't want to have to replace your engine, I would recommend you find a place that knows how to do it correctly. read more

Came to get an oil change today and had a lovely experience with some employees. Brendon who helped at the window was kind, conversational, informative, and not pushy with sales. Matthew who checked my air filter was funny and completed the top side work very efficiently! Lena, not working at our lane, came by and struck up a conversation and was absolutely lovely! Normally have fine experiences at Valvoline but today I went in and "manager" Joseph automatically assumed I was there for an oil change before I was able to get a word out of my mouth. After explaining that I was there for coolant he rudely responded that he was not laying a finger on my car. Other employees were attempting to be helpful but Joseph began to treat them inferior, ridiculing they in front of me, a customer. An employee followed up, asking for an explanation on why they couldn't do coolant for my car and Joseph basically told him to get lost. I went in for the usual service attributed to a vehicle fluid change. Despite my better judgement, I agreed to a filter change. The staff had difficulty with the replacement filter and had several mechanics working on getting it into place. I left thinking it was all set. U fortunately, it wasn't: I just tried to use the wiper fluid and nothing came out. Since I needed gas anyway, I asked the attendant to check the wiper fluid, thinking it must be clogged because I just did this last week! Nope. He informed me that it was completely empty and I paid for him to refill it. Then, and this is the best part, he says "whoever did this left a Phillips head screwdriver in the engine."!!!! I called the shop and they apologized but offered nothing and tried to say it was a mistake "did it cause any damage?" How the heck would I know what damage a loose screwdriver has cause to my engine? Bottom line: if you have technicians who are assigned to specific tasks to expedite a service how did the wiper fluid- being EMPTY, get entirely missed??? Not returning there and needed to give the heads up to anybody who's thinking about it. read more

Super impressed, my go to place closed down so I was looking for an affordable, drive though , quick oil change. Grabbed a coupon on line. $30 bucks works for me. But the 5 stars are for the customer service. This group of young men were friendly, polite, professional and knowledgeable. The little extras go a long way, Everything from showing me on the dip stick that the oil was full to resetting my service light on my dash. I've gotten about 5 previous oil changes from here. Always a good outcome. Today I was told my oil cap was "stripped on arrival". I was not pleased because like I said, I've only gotten oil changes from here. So they're the only place that could've stripped my cap. This is my first time at this location. I was greeted right away and pulled into a bay. Each one of the staff members were polite, courteous, and helpful with my questions. I was serviced quickly by a pleasant staff who clearly know what they're doing as they were efficient and made great suggestions. Some of the other reviews commented on up-selling and feeling misguided on pricing. (If you buy wiper blades at any store they're always sold as individuals and are around $18-45 each, so I'm unclear as to why other reviewers would think a retail location like this would sell 2 for $25... it's not a sketchy flea market lol ). They offered suggestions, but I never felt pressured or uncomfortable or like they were suggesting something I didn't need. If anything, I'm grateful as I never knew I had a second air filter behind my glovebox. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back. read more

Drive in for a oil change on Friday 07/01/2022 every thing seems fine went they perform the oil change but once they started to check my tire pressure my mind is starting to said oh no and it was too late to tell them not to check my tire pressure once I see it because they already started, the reason I said that because before I drive in there all four of my tire pressure were perfect and they shouldn't inflate or deflate your tire once you already driven more than a mile especially on a hot day unless you really needed to. After finish up my oil change and left the store drive for few miles away I already seen there is problem with my PSI it keep going up and down, before they check my tire pressure the psi just stay steady for long periods of time went driving and only drop one psi unless I stop for more than fifteen minutes or the temperature drop. And by next day when I was starting to head out to work the front right tire are losing PSI that was suppose to be at 35 to 25 so I drive it to the nearest tire center and have a technician to take a look to see what happens to the tire and they find out that on the side of the tire there is a crack opening which are not fixable and causes me to change two new tires and my old tires was still in good shape. Another thing is that couples of the employees there are smoking in the shop and is very dangerous that will caught on fire or a explosion one day soon or later. I recommend if you go in there for oil change make sure you tell them not to check your tire unless you really needed. read more

Pull up to one of the doors and when they open it you simply just pull up. They ask you which oil you want to go with and they will do the rest. It's a nice option if you just want fast instant oil change but I feel like oil change should also be a good time to do a quick maintenance around you car like tire rotations, checking all fluids are full, and etc. which you won't be getting at this place. I wanted to do conventional oil which I looked up and it said it was fine for my Honda Civic the guy got up close and personal to my window and made me feel bad about what I wanted. After the whole lecture he gave me about what my manufacture recommended, and several times of me saying I'll just go with the conventional oil thanks, he still said so synthetic. Overall just not great customer communication with this guy. And the oil change sticker was not printed with the milage or the month. This associate hand wrote the milage for 3,000 miles out and I asked how many months he said just come back when the car milage gets to that number. That's just unprofessional. I think after the disagreement he was a little upset or frustrated for me disagreeing and not going with the more expensive why I'm not sure. Never coming here again Went by this afternoon after leaving work early to get an oil change. I used to go to the one in Brockton which was fine (always upselling but I get it) but recently moved to Quincy so I thought I'd give this one a try. I left work early and pulled up. There were two cars in and one gate empty. I pulled up to the empty gate. I waited about 10 minutes until one of the multiple guys working came out and said that there wasn't enough staff and I would have to come back later. This place is horrible. I went to there for oil change. The staffs in that place are very unprofessional and extremely rude. They tried to sell things and pushed it so hard to you.
