Saturday night I ran over a big piece of metal. I didn't have a spare so I had AAA tow my vehicle to this Sullivan tire. Closed Sunday but when I called Monday they were able to look at it right away. They were able to remove the metal and it did not actually puncture the tire. No repair or replacement needed. (Edited for response: The whole reason I even found a discrepancy between the quality Walmart Tire and very obviously poorly made Sullivan tire was because I made an appointment to change my brakes. The brake in the FR where the Sullivan tire was, needed immediate replacement due to the amount of effort needed to compensate for the wrong and incredibly poorly made tire being put on, the other three had life. Rotors did NOT need changing, the FR rotor does have some damage but not imperative for changing, the control arm needed changing, again, due to the poor balance of the vehicle leaning towards the bald tire. The repairs have been made since, obviously because it's all a safety issue. If you want your car to be in good condition, don't buy expensive tires from this company that do not last, and might not even be able to handle the weight by of a Big Bertha GMC Acadia!!!! ) In Dec 2022, one of my new tires (purchased at Walmart) had a broken valve and leaking air. To get the tire fixed, I brought it to Sullivan Tire, Braintree MA. They told me I would need a replacement tire (not valve) and I purchased one new tire from this company. Two and a half years and 43K miles later, only one tire is completely bald with no tread depth at all. The other three are perfectly fine with even wear and tear. After reviewing the invoice I found that the bald tire was the Sullivan Tire replacement, while the other three tires tread measured around 7/32, which is still considered good. The difference between the tires was that the Sullivan Tire replacement was a speed rating "T" (max 118mph) the other three are an "H" speed rating (max 130pmh), which is the minimum recommendation for my car. I brought up my concerns with Sullivan Tire as my vehicle is experiencing some of the safety issues that are commonly known to happen to vehicles with the same issue, including difficulty steering, faulty tire monitoring system, extreme uneven brake wear and tear. After Sullivan Tire inspected my vehicle, they concluded they did not do anything wrong and they suggested that the customer service rep that sold me the tire actually did me a solid because I "was in a bind", as opposed to telling me they did not have my correct tire and letting me make an informed decision. Then, they recommend that I purchase a single new tire and they will install it at no cost. Since my other three tires are 2.5 years old, I politely declined. I also wanted to point out that the representative I spoke to wanted to continuously point out that my tires are from Walmart. Let it be known that the cheaper Walmart brand tires have at least a year of life left in them versus the "expensive", but clearly cheaply made tires sold at Sullivan Tire. read more

Yet another frustrating experience @ Ivory Street location. Dropped truck off primarily due to knocking under front / left of truck. Since there, asked to squeeze in oil change and inspection and to give me update by early afternoon to coordinate pick up of family. End Result = By 2pm, had only started draining oil, no inspection or focus on the PRIMARY reason for the visit. Was then told since the knocking wasn't the primary reason (which was completely inaccurate), I'd need another appt to focus on that issue. Thanks, Sullivan Tire, yet another "come see us again" because we completely didn't look at your main issue at all. But hey, at least they squeezed in the oil change and I got an apology for the "miscommunication." Finding another service store...suggest others to do the same. read more

I had to replace a damaged license plate but I could not remove one of the rusty screws. I stopped by Sullivan Tire on Ivory Street without an appointment to see if they could help. A team immediately came to my aid and were able to replace the plate within minutes and it is now good as new. I am Deaf and the team was very accommodating with clear communication in spite of me interrupting their busy schedules. I have been a Sullivan customer for a decade and this just shows why. Hello I'm back again talking about Sullivan tire. Almost 7 months ago I brought my work car to Sullivan tire for a sticker. Before you read this review I would go back and read my previous review, it's worth the read....... Apparently since then little has changed at this location. Almost a week and a half ago I got a call from my boss asking why I was not using my car to carry out my duties at work? Naturally I was confused as I'm in the car all day everyday. I told him I had no clue what he was talking about, I didn't even know my car had a GPS. I told him I would take it back to the last people I knew worked on it, you guessed it, Sullivan tire ivory st Braintree. It needed an oil change anyway. I dropped it off at 8:00am ish Saturday July 27th. I asked them to change the oil and check the GPS as it seemingly was not working. They told me it would be ready in a few hours and they would call me. I didn't get a call until 5 pm Saturday evening. Wayyy too late to pick it up. I decided to leave it there until Monday morning and I would get a ride from a co worker to grab it. I get there and of course the very first question I asked was, what was the issue with the GPS? Yet again I got the blank stare, what GPS they ask? I said the one I told your guy about when I dropped it off! They had no clue, big surprise lol. I gave the keys to the very large, way too cool for school guy with the fancy safety glasses who proceeded to slowly meander into the shop and do nothing about looking at my car. I waited and watched but it was clear to me they were going to take all the time they needed and get to it and only when it suited them to do so. I asked for my keys because i needed to get back to work. When I got into my car it smelled like someone dropped a quart of motor oil on the carpet. They didn't even bother to put up a "next oil change due" sticker on the windshield. I took the car to another approved vendor who quickly, and I mean really quickly, discovered the GPS was unplugged.... This place is going down hill fast! "They really need to re evaluate their work force. It's probably a byproduct left over from COVID. I get it, help is hard to find, good help is almost impossible....... I need a alignment and thought I may need my tire sensors changed. I got an appointment quickly and I was dreading the cost of the tire sensors. The team at Sullivan Tire in Braintree, performed the alignment and found no need to replace the tire sensors. Given I told them that they might need to be done, it shows the honesty of the shop not to charge me for a service I did not need. The price of the alignment was also very reasonable. I had called AAA yesterday for a flat tire, and noticed my tire pressure indicator light was on again today, so I knew I had a problem. I went to the Sullivan Tire in Braintree on Ivory St. I had previously purchased all of my tires through Sullivan Tire and had also purchased the protection plan. Both the person at the counter and the person who identified and fixed the issue with my tire were excellent. They were friendly and the service was quick. I was in and out much sooner than I anticipated. I didn't realize the protection plan would mean my tire repair was free...but it was!!! How could it get any better? I have been a long time customer of Sullivan Tire located at 120 Ivory Street Braintree location. As of today, I will no longer provide any business to this company and warn others to beware!! Along with another previous reviewer I saw out here, I too agree Do Not TRUST Matt the manager in the Ivory plaza Store. I find him to be rude and argumentative if you don't want to agree and go along with everything he is upselling and constantly pitching I have had 3 Negative experiences here in the last 6 months and will NEVER go there again. The story is too long to mention. It's sad because this used to be a great store. I would welcome a call from Mr. Sullivan or the Manager of Customer service for the stores as I am VERY disappointed and will go out of my way to WARN others to beware of the Braintree Ivory Plaza location. TLDR; I would not trust this location to keep the customer front of mind. I would look at another auto shop if you don't want to get ripped off. 90 degree in mid summer. My A/C unit stopped blowing cold air so I come in to ask for a quote. Unsure if it was the compressor, relay, fuse, or any myriad of reasons. When I asked the gentleman at the register for a quote to determine the scope of the problem, they told me it would be $100 to just look at the problem! I said "wait this is just for a quote right, we don't even know the problem" and the gentlemen at the cash register said "that'll be $100 to diagnose". Now I've been to plenty of auto shops but I've never been charged to just find the problem! For an industry that already has some of the lowest trust by consumers this really puts the icing on the cake. Even if they found a problem I personally would not trust them to do right by the customer. I suspect they regularly take advantage of unsuspecting customers. Also given the hot day, seems disingenuous at best and predatory at worst. Let this litmus test prove this location can not be trusted. read more

This one star is only for the Ivory Street location in Braintree. The location on Common Street in Braintree is great. I attempted to have a tire repaired and thought I had made an appointment online. I mistakenly didn't hit submit so my appointment was never made. When I arrived there was no appointment in the system. Understandable, yet the gentleman at the front wouldn't even give me the time of day or even attempt to accommodate me. A few weeks later, I went to have a MA state inspection done. These costs $35 EVERYWHERE!! I was told that it would cost $135 due to a $100 service fee. When I questioned if they were allowed to charge the additional fee, I was not so politely told "I can do whatever I want". I will definitely never try to go here again. There are so many other places in Braintree worth trying, and without the attitude! read more

I would give zero stars if possible. I was charged $135 for a second diagnostic test on my car. Apparently the first test wasn't enough. They "fixed" the car but when I picked it up I had all of the same issues and lights blinking, engine problems, car still stalling. It's almost like they didn't even touch the car!! I took it back in right after I turned around. They said they would call when they knew more. That was yesterday afternoon. Today at 3:30 my boyfriend called and they said "we still don't know what the problem is. We will call you after we know." Haven't heard from them again today (they close at 5) and I paid them the $700 already. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Very unhappy customer. UPDATE 8/26/2020: Car gave me trouble again even when advance team was called in for my third time. Went to Realini Auto in Braintree and they fixed everything up in 4 days and charged me WAY less than Sullivan Tire. Diagnosed an entirely different issue and it's back to normal. Over $1,000 went to Sullivan to fix nothing. read more

Long time customer of these guys, and I could have sworn I'd already given them a five-star shoutout; but today they went far above & beyond. Bought my tires there 8 months ago & late last night one of them started a slow leak. I brought the car in to them after 3pm today, assuming I was gonna have to leave it overnight because they were busy with other repair jobs. Well, guess what. Sullivan takes their Protection Plan seriously. As soon as one of the bays freed up, my car came RIGHT in the door and they popped my bad tire off. They had a brand new replacement in stock, so I rolled out with a safe new tire & not a patch & plug job. The best parts are that 1) even on a day when they were jammin I was out driving the car about 90 minutes after I brought it it; and 2) they fully honored their protection plan, so what could have been a $300 problem cost me all of SIXTEEN DOLLARS. I can't say enough good stuff about this shop, their work is always high quality and that's why I've been nowhere else for maintenance in over five years. But today they came through for me like superheroes. read more

My wife to her 2004 Ford Expedition to Sullivan Tire, they gave her an estimate of over $6000, plus told her that the frame needed to be repaired, they don't do that type of work, but his friend did, he estimated that it would cost around $4000!!!!, for a total of over $10,000!!! I took it to the local Ford Dealership, $3,600 for the exact same repairs Sullivan Tire quoted at over 6 grand, and to top it off there is no frame problem, needless to say, I will never go to Sullivan Tire again. read more

I will not be taking my car anywhere else for regular service. This place is great. I called on Monday for an oil change and inspection sticker. I said I would like to drop the vehicle when they open at 7:00AM on Tuesday and get a ride to work from the courtesy van. I explained that I would need the my vehicle back at noon. They said "Sure. We will see you tomorrow morning." I dropped off my car and the courtesy van was already out front to take me to work. The driver was courteous and the van was clean and warm (it was about 0 degrees that morning) He even asked if he could pick me up at noon. This is not necessary but it says a lot about the service they provide. I got a call at 10:30AM informing me my vehicle was ready. I showed up, paid and was handed my keys. No up sell, no hidden fees, no BS. Everyone I dealt with was professional and friendly. I had a great experience here and will be returning. read more

Sent my wife to get an inspection sticker today. First of all they told her it would be $39. Bad start. According to the MA RMV, "The cost of the test is among the lowest in the nation for this type of program. The Mass Vehicle Check will continue to cost $35 annually." http://www.massrmv.com/rmv/faq/inspection.htm After waiting for an hour, they came out an told her they wouldn't inspect it because the license plate was "faded". This plate is less than 10 years old, is in normal condition for its age, and each letter and number is completely covered in the red font. Sounds like this business was too busy for the $35...I mean $39 job. I sent her to another location (non-Sullivan Tire), and she got a passing inspection sticker in less than 15 minutes. read more

I was very happy with the visit. These guys were professional and they did the work that I asked them to do without all of the upsell crap! I'm always leery of going to any of the tire or lube places to get anything done because they always try to upsell you when you just need something simple done. The guy who attended to me was prompt and professional, the technician was thorough (the car does feel like it drives better) and the work was fairly quick, even with a small complication. BEWARE! SCAM ARTISTS. I was having some starting issues so I decided to take my car somewhere close by to have it checked out (I work in Braintree) before I ended up stranded somewhere - figuring it was probably just a dead battery. Just as I thought, the battery needed to be replaced, but surprise, they told me my rear shocks were both completely shot and needed to be replaced to the tune of another $500 (according to them "there's fluid everywhere"). I told them I wanted to just do the battery, pick up the car and get a second opinion somewhere else on the shocks (suspiciously, to this he stated he "wouldn't recommend driving it"). I hadn't had any problems whatsoever nor did I ask them to look at anything other than the starting issue, so I picked it up and brought it to Squantum Auto Repair (check them out) to have it looked at. Big surprise - absolutely nothing wrong with any of my shocks - and Squantum treated me like family and REFUSED TO TAKE ANY OF MY MONEY for looking at the car. They definitely won over a return customer and Sullivan lost one for life. I don't know jack about auto repair but I know when someone is trying to cheat me - beware of this place, especially if they just "happen to find" problems you didn't know you had. read more

I have been going to Sullivan Tire for 4+ years, they were amazing to me when I had various terrible problems with my Nissan Pathfinder, they didn't over charge me, they actually helped repair a problem someone else had created without incurring an atrocious cost. Mat is always up front and honest with me about issues, he recommended I buy a new car versus putting excess money into a car that would never last. I brought my highlander SUV as I noticed noise from rear passenger side, and I took my car to the sullivan tires in Braintree. The guy told me I need to change four struts and front wheel axel differential and the rear passenger side wheel bearing. I was told it could cost me 4~5 grands. I was shocked and how came it suddenly had so many problems at once. I took my car back and drove it for a few days, and the engine checking light was on. I opened the front hood lid, found the engine oil cap was missing. I never touched it after oil changing six months ago. So I bought a new cap and brought a car to another dealer, it was diagnosed with rear passenger side wheel bearing problem. Fixed with $450. It runs quietly and smoothly so far. read more

Went here to have new tires put on. They rotated the tires which messed up the computer in my car. They also broke something when they put the tires on. The dealership had to fix that part and put the tires on correctly. Sullivan tried to deny that they broke the part even though the dealership said it was them. I have gone to Sullivan Tire (Norwood) several times in the past and they have always done a great job with my vehicle. I recently decided to try going to the Sullivan Tire in Braintree to see if they were as good as Norwood. I went for an oil change in my vehicle and had initially forgot to ask which type of Synthetic oil they use. When I went to pick up my vehicle I asked which synthetic oil they had used for my records. They could not answer my question. I told them how could they be using an oil that they had no idea which type of oil it was. Several staff were asked and the best answer they could give was it probably was the cheapest as their specific store does not purchase the oil. That answer did not sit well with me but they had already changed the oil. It's partly my fault because if I had asked before I would have never let them change my oil without knowing which kind they used. This was the first and last time that the Braintree Sullivan tire will change my oil. Them not know which type of oil they use is definitely unacceptable. read more

Braintree Ivory Street location is horrible, don't even waste your time. This is not the first time I had an awful experience with this location. The front desk employee Chris has poor customer service skills and always has a frown on his face. The energy he gives off is a combination of miserable, attitude, irritated and tired. He explained what was wrong with my car super quickly as if I was supposed to understand right away and caught and attitude when I asked him to explain what he meant. My car stayed in the bay all day 8am-6pm just to find out I didn't pass inspection because of a plate light. Mind you I had to call 3 times in order to find out my car was ready to be picked up at 6pm. Earlier that day when I first arrived I noticed the same front desk employee providing great service to the elderly caucasian woman who walked in the shop. What makes me different from them? Why wasn't I greeted with the same energy and kindness? I feel as though he was being discriminating and I won't ever go there again. If you're going to work at the front desk try putting on a smile, being nice and not be a total asshole. Oh yeah they try to up sell you all the time. I went in there one other time for an oil change and they told me I needed a steering wheel alignment and left paying $100 and something.
