This is definitely a straight forward old-fashioned steakhouse. Cheryl herself was working the fire pit while we were there and, WOW that lady can cook a steak! Every employee was happy to be there and were hopping every second we were there! We got the fried mushroom appetizer and they make their own ranch which was yummy! I ordered a 26 ounce and hubby got a huge 22 ounce steak and loaded baked potato. We both left with a full to-go meal for later. The wait was about 49 minutes, we got there around 6:30 pm and were seated by 7:10 pm. The iced tea was great. The bread was Sister Shusters rolls served piping hot with whipped butter. The only negative is I hate eating at the table in the middle of the room and that's where we were sitting but, once the food started coming I totally forgot about it. From start to finish, our meal was absolutely outstanding. I ordered the medium ribeye steak with green beans and a baked potato, along with a bowl of potato soup, and everything came out flawless. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--warm pink center, beautifully seasoned, and tender enough to cut with minimal effort. The baked potato was fluffy inside with just the right crisp on the skin, and the green beans were fresh, vibrant, and seasoned just right. The potato soup was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. A perfect starter. My wife ordered the medium New York strip with green beans, and she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Two in particular were Al and Lloyd. Our conversations were so interesting, we kinda felt like family. They had a longer wait so we all decided to dine together. They had to have been regulars because they knew every waitstaff there. They even forewarned us that there's no ketchup or sauce used nor would it be missed. We ordered and enjoyed ourselves. We ate here for the first time and was not impressed. They handed us menus that were on paper lunch bags. The menu items were hand written on them by various staff. They were hard to read in the dimly lit room. We ordered ribeye's. My wife's was over salted (which is hard to do with steak) and very fatty. I know ribeye's are generally a fattier cut but this was too much. My steak tasted like maybe soot or something was on the grates from the wood fire pit and even left black soot in the to go box.
