Sumilicous is very delicious. If you're craving smoked meat I would definitely recommend this place. There is a decent amount of seating but can get fairly busy during the lunch rush hour. The staff here are nothing but a pleasure and they will treat you very well. The owner is very involved as both times I've come he's been working behind the counter. I've tried the Smoked Meat Sandwich as well as their Smoked Meat Poutine and both were very solid! 4/5 for both. The portion of the poutine was huge and the sandwich was pretty good too, if you make your sandwich a combo it comes with fries, a little bit of coleslaw which was delicious but I wish they gave more, and a whole pickle! If you want montreal smoked meat this is the place to get it! Without having to drive all the way to MTL, there is this small mum and pop shop that served awesome smoked meat. They have a combo where you can get the sandwich a drink and fries- forgot how much it was. But you can also order by the pound which is what I normally do and take it home to eat as is :) Staff are friendly and quick. They also care about service and customer quality. Had such high expectations after reading the Toronto Star review. Went for a late lunch and the best part of the meal was the fresh cut fries and the sweet not vinegary sour cole slaw. Smoked meat was juicy and tender. Please note: parking was terrible and the restaurant has limited seating. Really need window blinds as the heat from the sun was quite intense. Okay so... I had the smoked meat poutine today. Would 100% get this again - they don't use real cheese curds but it's still nice and melty and the smoked meat goes very well with the fries and gravy. I guess I'm not a big fan of the smoked meat in the regular sandwich and the fries by themselves. Will be getting this from now on. If your comparing Sumilicious with Schwartz's, then your suffering either from a poor memory or the onset of Alzheimer's. This was my second visit to this so called wannabe Schwartz's deli. On my first visit I ordered a medium (fat) smoked meat sandwich. The fat in the sandwich was absolutely gross, we figured that they either made a mistake or possibly their med, was unlike any of the other smoked meat sandwiches that I have consumed over three decades, in comparison. We decided on our second visit we would order lean, also our first, in over three decades. On this day, there were approximately3 or 4 employees on duty, one of which was the owner. None of them we're especially friendly or courteous. We placed our order. One should be aware that unlike traditional deli's, your sandwich won't even come with a pickle spear, the combos don't even come with a drink. If you would like a soft drink it's 1.75 for a regular can of pop and 2.00 for a cherry cola from that prestigious soft drink manufacture called, Colt. Seriously 2.00 for a .50 soft drink, 300% markup, really ! Our sandwiches were of the poorest quality, mine in particular, was of all the bits and pieces that are normally thrown out, extremely dry and unfavourable. I ate half and brought the other half home to Fido, extremely disappointing. There are so many other deli's in the GTA that are far more deserving of your business than this establishment. Centre street deli comes to mind, however I would even suggest prepackaged Schwartz's Montreal smoked meat, that can be found in the freezer section at Costco, which is a far better buy, at least you can be assured that your smoked meat sandwich will be of full and complete slices and not bits and pieces of expired ready for the trash bin alleged smoked meat. I wish the business owner of Sumilicious the very best of luck, as I feel it will just be a matter of time before his customers realize that there are way better smoked meat sandwich businesses that will appreciate their business with a far superior product and customer experience, that also won't try to fleece their customers on so called combos or soft drinks. Who in their right mind doesn't offer a pickle spear with a deli sandwich. Good luck. read more

I really like Montreal smoked meat sandwich and was wondering if this place is legit. After I had their sandwich I can honesty say that it is legit and very juicy. I recommend it to everyone who likes Montreal smoked meat. It is honestly the same quality you can get in Montreal. Their fries and coleslaw is amazing too. The fries is super fresh and a bit soft but in a good way. The coleslaw is not creamy at all, it tasted like mustard and very refreshing with the rest of our food. Found this place trending on Yelp, so we decided to check it out. My husband got their smoked meat sandwich combo and I got their Portuguese chicken sandwich combo. Combos come with fries, big pickle, and coleslaw, so if you are two people, I definitely recommend just one of you ordering the combo. The sandwiches are huge and the combo portions are pretty generous too. My husband really enjoyed his smoked meat sandwich and it came with a generous portion of meat. The Portuguese chicken sandwich is also really good. Spiced well and juicy. Neither of us could finish our sandwiches after eating all the fries and pickle, so come hungry! So I stumbled upon this place by chance when I was around my old area. Having missed out on trying Schwarz in Montreal, I had to try fresh smoked meat. The brisket is moist and really good. The sandwich is really filling. It does need the extra pickle and mustard to make it the complete meal. Add in the black cherry soda and you will be leaving very satisfied. Scarborough got a new addition to the food scene and it's smoked meat! The owner is from Montreal and apparently had worked at Schwartz prior to opening up shop here so he really knows his meat. I tried the Smoked Meat Sandwich ($8.99) Sumiliciousdeli which came piled with a very generous amount of meat (over two inches thick) between two pieces of bread and a dab of mustard. The smoked meat was well flavoured with a mix of lean and fatty meats. The lean parts were slightly dry but the fatty parts were phenomenal - melt in your mouth with the fat having almost a gelatin-like texture. Next time, I will definitely ask for more fatty meat on my sandwich. The bread is standard rye bread - nothing special and I would have liked to have a variety of mustard from which to choose from. I also tried the Smoked Meat Poutine ($7.99) which, in my opinion, is superior to the Smoked Meat Sandwich and will completely tantalize your tastebuds with handcut fries, delicious gravy, torn chunks of mozzarella cheese and tonnes of smoked meat. I love how the smoked meat layer was so thick that it took some effort to dig past it and into the fries and cheese. I also loved how there was just the right amount of gravy so that every fry was perfectly coated with the rich gravy which is neither too savory or sweet, nor too thick or thin (most likely a 2/3 beef stock and 1/3 chicken stock mix). Unlike the Smoked Meat Sandwich, EVERY piece of smoked meat was hot, tender and juicy (as a result of the gravy) and I loved how the fatty bits of the meat actually started to dissolve into the poutine making it that much more indulgent. The fries were also great - golden fried to perfection with a crisp outside and soft and tender inside. The skin left on it gave it an added texture and flavour. The only critique I have is of the cheese - they were torn chunks of mozzarella instead of curds which meant that I missed out on chunks of that sqeeky goodness that is paramount to a good poutine. Nonetheless, it was still delicious - extremely melty and mixed in well with the gravy adding that much needed creaminess to the dish. I only wished was that there were a bit more cheese, but overall, this poutine was simply delightful. This will be my go to dish from here going forward! read more

Usually, I never like coleslaw that comes with a meal but I really loved the coleslaw that they make here! It was refreshing and I thought it complimented the sandwich very well. They also give you a whole pickle instead of the usual 'sliced' pickles you would have expected lol The smoked meat poutine was delicious and definitely great for sharing. It is a big portion with a lot of smoked meat on top. Everything about this poutine was great as every bite was warm, cheesy, and infused with gravy. We ordered lean meat for all orders and you are able to make a request for the type of meat you want. All in all I had a great experience dining in. What's left to say about Sumilicious that hasn't been said already? I've been a regular customer for awhile but haven't taken the opportunity to leave a review until now. The food here is amazing. They offer something unique and genuine that cannot be found anywhere else in the city and the staff is always friendly. I generally order their smoked meat sandwich, which they give a generous amount of meat. You also can't go wrong with their smoked meat poutine. Even the fries on their own is amazing, the seasoning they use is simply addictive! They also have other items on their menu, their portuguese chicken sandwich is something I've been meaning to try if I can find a day where I can resist their smoked meat. Their prices did increase slightly recently, however given the economy it's perfectly understandable. Plus, with the quality and quantity you get at Sumilicious, it's definitely worth it. Overall, I highly recommend Sumilicious. Just be warned though, once you tried them once, you will be hooked and will be a returning customer for life like me. read more

I found my to go order lacking some mustard. The combo includes French fries. These were not my cuppa tea. I like crisp Golden brown. These were a little over cooked.
