Usually, when I bring in an inspiration photo, I have to compromise on certain elements or end up disappointed because most salons can't quite replicate the design exactly. Not here. This place completely exceeded my expectations. Every detail was executed beautifully, and the final result looked just like the reference photo--even with all the layers, textures, and intricate elements involved. I had a great experience getting cat eye nails done at this salon. The nail tech, Ellie, was meticulous and made sure to confirm if I liked my nail shape, color, etc before moving on to the next step. My nails came out perfectly filed, my cuticles were tidy, and the polish looked clean. The appointment took about an hour from start to finish. Like a lot of salons these days, there's a phone holder so you can watch/read off your phone in peace. The salon itself was very clean and organized. I went in needing one nail just a naked color nude color really simple fix they said because they haven't done my nails before they couldn't do one now. They were rude non-accommodating. I told them I was a neighbor and would appreciate any Nail that they did that it would be fine with me. They were very adamant about not taking my business non-accommodating rude. Lena was a FABULOUS manicurist - she did my nails my favorite they have ever been done!! I had only ever gotten Dip with tip extensions, but they don't do Dip here so I was excited to finally try Gel X. Lena took the time to thoroughly explain to me the different between gel, hard gel, gel X, etc and why certain ones would be better for my specific nail. She checked with me every step of the way to ensure the length and shape of the nail were exactly what I wanted. I've had them done for 5 days now and they feel just as sturdy and fresh as the day I got them. They played fun music the whole time, the salon was clean, and I was appreciative for the complementary mini water bottles and I walked about a mile to get there and was thirsty during my appointment. Very disappointing experience. I booked a hard gel manicure for 4:30pm. Once I got there asked if I could do French and they said no because they only booked me for 1 hour and French is 1.5 hr. Ok no problem. They didn't start my manicure until 5pm. At 6:15 they start doing the polish and a new girl comes up to me saying they need to switch manicurists because my current one didnt prep my nails (??). So they remove the first layer of polish. Start drilling and buffing my nails, and redo the polish. I finally get out of there at 7pm, so 2.5hr total and didn't even get the French I wanted. And they said they didn't have the 1.5 hr available to do my French, when really they wasted my time for 2.5 hr??? read more

I had a really uncomfortable experience here. I came in during my lunch break for a mani/pedi and planned to Venmo tip each technician after I left. I took photos of their Venmo info and walked out, only to be followed down the street by a staff member asking why I hadn't tipped yet. I was shocked--they then proceeded to call me three times about it. I had every intention of tipping (which I did later that day), but I didn't realize there was a strict time limit on expressing gratitude. While the technicians did a good job, being chased and contacted multiple times over a tip left a really bad taste in my mouth. It felt less like customer service and more like harassment. read more

My manicure was poor - my cuticles were torn up and there wasn't any maintenance done around the nail. There was no clean up of the paint left on my fingers after the service... the paint is uneven and not on the entire nail. Won't be returning here as it seems they only care about your service if you're getting hard gel. Only redeeming part of the experience was the pedicure I got. Lovely service and beautiful work by a tired but cheerful manicurist. HOWEVER, once done, I was aggressively questioned about how I would be tipping by the young man processing the credit card payments. I couldn't sign into Venmo for some reason, so I said I'd tip with cash. I was informed that an exception would be made "this once" but in the future this would not be tolerated. Huh? I got cash from across the street. When I returned, I was intercepted by the same young man - I was not permitted to hand my cash tip directly to my manicurist. What gives? I believe this is illegal? "New York State Labor Law Section 196-d prohibits employers or their agents from directly or indirectly accepting or retaining any part of a gratuity or charge purported to be a tip." The FLSA also "explicitly states that employers cannot keep any tips received by employees, regardless of whether they take a tip credit." So basically managers and supervisors are prohibited from keeping any portion of employee tips, period. No? #BetterBusinessBureau read more

Quality is A1. I loved Kiki! She was so nice and accommodating. She made suggestions all while being respectful of my wishes.

Went for a basic mani pedi. When the original tech was "done" my nails literally had dirt under ever single nail still. I am from LA and a basic rule of thumb is clean nails. They don't use a scrub brush or soak your nails in water (also a standard practice in LA, maybe not NYC?). The girl then tried to fix them but it just wasn't happening so I asked for her to stop and someone else take over. After that it was fine but then no discount or anything for the fact I spend 1.5 hrs to get a basic mani pedi? Then still being prompted about tipping? He'll. No. Outside of that, I noticed they just seem unorganized. The person who was fixing my mani also was taking phone calls after stopping to handle issues (one call I was completely aware of was about overcharging - if true or not). People walking in asking about pricing and such had another technician also walk away from her client. After all of this, even 20% off would have been too little of an offer for the quality of work. Find somewhere else. This isn't worth the stress of the time. read more

Have been going there for a few months to get hard gel manicures. At first it was a good experience but now they take absolutely forever to do the service and still do an absolutely sloppy and crappy job. One of my nails had the gel crack within a week and they fixed it but then multiple nails had the gel starting to peel off from the nail within 10-12 days and they tried to charge me to fix it... horrible customer service experience! I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere! read more

It's a bit pricey but it is absolutely worth it because of their care, skill, and effort. You really feel like you've gotten the best set of nails when you walk out.
