My new go-to nail place in Manhattan! I wanted to try hard gel but was having a hard time finding salons that offered it in the city. I saw 800 Miss Nail's reasonable prices on Yelp and am glad I decided to try them out. I made an appointment for 3PM on Saturday and it was quite busy around that time, but it had slowed down by the time I left around 5PM. I've never done a Russian manicure before but I think this is the closest I've gotten. My nail tech spent extra long on nail prep, including using a tiny drill around the cuticle area. However it wasn't painful at all and I loved the end result. I got hard gel over my natural nails, and I can't comment on the longevity yet but my nails do feel quite sturdy. She then topped it with with the normal gel color and chrome that I picked out. In total I paid $75 in cash before tip, chrome was $10 extra and I had an extension added for one nail. They currently (as of 3/4/2023) have a special running for 10% off all services when paying in cash, and also have an ATM with a low service fee inside. read more

I came in for a pedicure and gel manicure. They knicked 2 of my toes and I was bleeding. They used the wrong color for my gel manicure. Weeks later when I got my gel manicure removed, I kept pulling my hand away and telling them that the machine that grinds off the polish was hurting. They just kept grabbing my hand and trying to start taking it off again. They would not listen that it was hurting. They over sanded my nails so badly that all of my nails hurt and they are all super bendy. I have never had a gel removal this bad. I got a regular manicure after they removed the gel and it immediately chipped 2 hours later. read more

New salon by the owners of my old nail salon on E 34th St. They have the best polish selection that I've experienced in the city. Everything is brand new, so clean and the massage chairs go for 30 minutes with all working parts (also new). I get my eyebrows colored here too, super easy and always great touch-up. I've been wanting to try this place on my work trips to NYC because of it's convenient location & competitive prices. I went in yesterday for a basic pedicure ($30). I called ahead to ask if they take walk-ins - which they said they do - but I ended up making an appointment just to be safe. The service was wonderful and very relaxing. They have a ton of pedicure options if you want to have a more luxurious service. I also enjoyed their various color options! I think I was there a little over an hour, which made for great timing! The pedicure took about 40 min, and the rest of the time I paid then sat at the dryer station as my sandals would have partially covered the pedicure & I wanted to be sure everything had dried before I left. def would avoid this place. got my nails done for a wedding I'm in. my nails chipped the next day and the cuticles on my one nail was bleeding. also they do not soak your nails when they remove the polish, they just file them down. read more

They did a great job removing my nail acrylics. It was friendly and smooth. The salon is clean and has a lot of colors.

The girls here are very friendly! They're also pretty hit and miss with their skills. I went for an Easter mani and it was such a sloppy job. It's hard to tell in the pics bc it's such a light pink color but they didn't layer well and you could clearly see where they didn't apply the polish on the 2nd coat. My sister actually laughed when I showed her. It was a family event so I'm not concerned but I wish they were more reliable. This isn't a professional outcome. read more

I cant even select a rating for this place. I was down here visiting my cousin and they were very obviously speaking poorly on the both of us. When trying to remove my previous nails they used a metro card to try and pry them off and it was the most painful thing i've ever had to sit through. I didn't trust them to finish completing my nails because of the pain i was in. My nails have never been this fragile and sore. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The second time was $68, third was $78 and this monstrosity of a manicure was $100.. this is the worst manicure I've ever gotten and it took them 3 hours. I came here because it is close to my apartment and I needed to walk in somewhere, but I definitely won't be back. The nail tech doing my nails didn't know how to take off my dip powder and asked me whether she should soak them or use the drill tool. She is the professional, not me, so I knew it wasn't going to end well for me. She had my nails soaking in acetone for 2 hours. I'm a dramatic person, but I am not exaggerating in the slightest as I was watching the clock the whole time. Once she took the foils off, she was picking the polish off with her nails. She also cut and filed my nails way shorter than I had asked, and they still ended up uneven. I had gel polish all over my fingers after we were done, but I was already there for 2.5 hours so I didn't want to spend any more time there for her to clean me up. In the meantime, 3 people walked out in the middle of their pedicures due to it being too painful. Getting your nails done is supposed to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience, but this was stressful and left me wanting to leave the entire time. I am giving 2 stars purely because they were able to take me as a walk in fairly quickly and the massage was nice. read more

But recently it's been declining, my last 3 gel manicures have chipped within 1 week and I recently got acrylics to have a longer lasting set, and the thumb fell off in 2 weeks. I was really disappointed with how my nails turned out. I came in for a Russian gel manicure, and it initially seemed to be going well. Towards the end, I noticed my nail tech did not really build on my apex. When it came to the polish that's where it went downhill. She painted my nails until about 2 mm away from my cuticle. I then asked her to go closer to my cuticle, she attempted to do but it was still far away. My nails look grown out already, even though they are brand new. read more

It seems to be hit or miss. Service is good and they're very nice! The regular manicure was good and they have non toxic polish options. Recently I tried the dip powder manicure and it ended up looking fine but she used the drill so much and scratched my cuticles. I pointed it out to her and she said I had sensitive nails. I thought I'd give this place a try, as it was close by, and my favourite place I used to go to in midtown (Tenoverten) closed during the pandemic. The woman who did my nails was very rough, and even though I told both her, and another woman there (who translated for her) to please cut across to prevent ingrown nails, she did the opposite. This seems to be common in so many nail salons, which is so frustrating. I wish they would learn how to properly cut nails, and listen. I would not go back. read more
