This was with dazzle dry which is supposed to last longer than a reg mani although is irrelevant bc either way, shouldn't be chipping within 3 days. Also, I made an appointment specifically with Eva but she was double booked - felt like she may have felt pressured/did a rushed job. Wanted to like this place since it's close to my home but it's as pricey as other spots in the city and the job isn't nearly as good. ...I love it here. I stayed in NYC for 10 weeks, and wanted to treat myself to cute nails while I was here. My friend recommended Eva's. Everything I come in, I feel like I'm in good hands. The staff here has never failed me; I'm always pleased with my nails afterwards. Pricing is good, and my nails ALWAYS last until my next session, even if it's nearly 3 weeks later. My hair NEVER gets caught under the nails either - they never lift (I've only gotten dip). They are SO detailed. They take their time, but if you're on a time crunch, just let them know and they will speed it up. Now that I've left NYC, every manicure I get I find myself comparing it to Eva's, and considering price, quality, and more - it just doesn't compare. I live across the street and have been here at least 10 times and I'd say my experiences average to a 2-3 star. This place started off so well! But the issue is consistency. I've had great manicures and I've had horrible, they cut my cuticles manicure to great manicures. And today I had the- they cut my cuticles. The owners seem really nice but man, they need some quality control. It's also been freezing in there and they don't turn on the heat! I've been coming here for 2 years and they've always done a wonderful job and my goal manicure would easily last 3 weeks. However, for the past 3-4 times, they've been doing a really poor job. For example, I got my nails done here 2 weeks ago and and it's started lifting and getting caught in my hair by day NINE. They've also been doing a very poor job of cutting my cuticles. I have always loved coming to Eva's but after my pedicure on Saturday my toe became severely infected. Proper care was not taken during my pedicure and my toe was inflamed and infected to the point where I had to go to urgent care. The woman doing my pedicure was sloppy and rough. I really thought I had found a great salon in the city with NexGen nails after going to a great tech in Brooklyn for months who is often booked up. I went back to get my NexGen redone and to my horror all of my nails were dry, peeling, and breaking. I immediately knew they did not use NexGen products, after I asked them several times why the bottles and powders did not say the company name. (The other powders are terrible on my nails.) At this second visit I asked to see the NexGen colors. I was handed so many options by the man I questioned if they had given me just NexGen colors. Yes, they told me. Once I saw how damaged my nails were, I again asked to confirm they use NexGen. The tech then pointed out some of the palettes were mixed with other powders. The man said: I didn't know you wanted NexGen only. I will never return here again. False advertising for NexGen seems to be the thing at salons now. I really wanted to try powder dip manicure and my Yelp search brought me here. Pics of their sample colours differ greatly from what the end product is! Nail colour is a lot darker from powder. Pro: They seated me within 2min but Con:I ended up waiting for the nail technician for another 8min. Con: Linda was very rough on my hands and cuticles to the point I thought she was going to break my skin. Pro: That roughness translated to a great neck and shoulder massage! Pic is after 11 days, you can see that while there are no chips, there is some lifting action. My nails grow about 1/8th inch a week or so. I was referred to this place by a friend and they specifically named A women named Linda and ever since I've been getting my nails done by her. She's very kind and professional and pays close attention to detail and what I want, and the specific shape I like. Came here for the first time last night for a mani-pedi, at the suggestion of my girl friend, who is a regular here for their powder manis. It was my first time getting powder, and based on the experience, will not be the last. Concept is cool - no UV (I typically get gels), just as long lasting, at just a few more dollars. I am very happy with the powder manicure so far. However, I will probably get pedi done elsewhere. It has not even been twelve hours, and already my left big toenail is majorly messed up. The technician who performed my pedi first did not apply enough layers (picked a lighter color) so it looked streaky, and after I complained - then applied so many layers that even after an hour under the fan, the polish folded/creased up instead of drying. The mani tech (a different lady) had to redo one of my toenails before I left because it looked so bad. Then, as I stated, this morning I noticed that my left big toenail polish was creased up. I am thoroughly disappointed by this, as this has never happened to me so soon after getting a pedi. read more

I scheduled a regular pedicure and powder dip manicure and I'm so happy with both. Not only was the price reasonable ($70 before tip) but the quality was amazing. My nails have lasted through a wedding, a week long trip, and more! Would 100% recommend to everyone! read more

I am in love with the dip powder manicures. I'm not someone who gets there nails done on the regular--usually only go for special occasions--but I've gone back twice already in one summer so to me, that's saying something. The pedicures are okay. Very clean with the removable liner, but the quality in the staying power is not there. Looking at my toes a day after my pedicure, it looks like the polish on my big toe is damaged. Tempted to see if they'd fix it if I stop by tomorrow. The service is pretty good. They'll test a color on your nail to make sure you like it before doing the rest, stuff like that. I've made an appointment once, but I've found I'll be seen in the same amount of time if I just do a walk in. For the dip powder manicures, I definitely recommend this place. If you just want an average mani or pedi, I'd probably look elsewhere. read more

Disappointed because last 2 times I was here, it was so good! I got a powder mani and regular pedi. The lady doing my pedi scrubbed my feet for a grand total of 30 seconds. The manicurist didn't file my nail extensions to the shape or length that I wanted. I asked for almond, and the tips are way too pointy. The shape is irregular and I asked her to fix the length because they were too short, she was annoyed and started filing my nails erratically and cut my finger at which point she started being a bit more gentle. The end result was basically nails not in the shape I wanted, not in the length I wanted, and my fingers all cut up and sore. read more
