My husband and I visited Summit Grill for the second time. Did not disappoint either time. I got the Summit Burger which was fabulous. My husband got the wings and beef nachos. This was such a disappointing experience. We went in yesterday and it was not very busy at all. When asking the waiter about the food, his honest response was "I don't know much about the menu." Ordered appetizers which were okay, nothing to really brag about. Ordered the Brick chicken and a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. He came back and let us know apparently they were out of that menu item. Then just proceeded to order a burger with the side of Brussels sprouts. 10 minutes later he came back to let me know they were out of the sprouts too. Seriously? How does that happen twice!? My fiancé cancelled his order, we paid and left. We will never come here again. read more

I met a friend at Summit Grill for a lunch meeting. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. They have a good bad area and a nice regular dining area. It was well decorated in dark colors. We had their Pot Roast Nachos and the Poutine. Both were outstanding! The Pot Roast Nachos were my favorite of the two. The large, flaky chips were like a crack crust pizza. The sauce was a little tangy so it added a nice pop to the dish as a whole. The Pot Roast was that perfect, stringy and moist texture. I will definitely go back and take my husband. The prices were reasonable as well and they seemed to have a decent happy hour from 3-6pm. read more

We have put off trying Summit Grill because we didn't like the restaurant that was there before it; I know silly, right ?!? I'm so glad we decided to give them a shot today. We walked in and were seated right away. Things I really liked : * the dark stained woodwork throughout. * the high seat backs on the booths making your dining experience a little more private and intimate. * our kind helpful server * my drink meal and company was amazing! Things I disliked: * nothing! I had the French onion soup and chopped salad with grilled chicken added, both were very good! The French onion soup was actually one of the best I've ever had!! My husband had the brisket hash; I tried some and it was very good as well. Our service was fast and friendly. We were in and out in less than an hour which was good for us since we had tons of errands to run! All in all we had a great experience and we will be back soon! read more

The food was good but very pricy. My wife and I had the pot roast. The beef had several pieces of fat but overall was tasty. Normally I think of pot roast having potatoes and carrots, otherwise is just roast beef. However the dish was really roast beef. Mashed potatoes were good. Just had happy hour drinks and food on the patio with great food and great service!! Thank you! However, I am curious about the justification behind your female servers' dress code. It was nearly 90 degrees, and they are required to wear tights and long sleeves while wearing a face mask(I very much appreciate the face masks). Have the owners of this establishment ever tried being on their feet for 6+ hours in the heat in tights? I strongly suggest that you give it a try and then re-assess the importance of the dress code. AMAZING! Went 2/23/19 for dinner and it was packed but managed to find open table in the bar area luckily. Food was fantastic! I got the chicken fried chicken (bomb) and a side of French fries, and the rest of the table got bbq shrimp and grits and it was said to be one of the best they've ever had!! I'm always sad when I order nachos, and there are only six chips. :( The happy hour special are about all I go for and they aren't all that special. There are better places to go for happy hour. The building is at a good location. There's not a lot of competition around. So it's got that going for it. It's a dark-style, cigar-bar-feel, and seems like a place for an indiscretion. For this review, I sat at the bar. Had the calamari it was so-so. What surprised me was the size of the calamari. I am talking Van de-Kamp's fish stick large (the pieces). The inside bar area was almost 1/2 full (the bar area consists of both indoor and outdoor area). The noise inside was deafening. I was there for the start of TNF. The crowd was there to mingle, not watch football. The service at the bar was a bit slow. The servers running the hi-top tables in the bar area were hopping. The next time I go I will sit at the hi-top tables or they have captains chairs in front of the fireplace which has a TV above it. read more

The only complaint I have, was the music was a little wierd for fine dining, reggae and pop music is not my ideal for dining. and when you enter the bar the music was really loud to include the bathrooms. read more

This place does cheese really well. On that note...my husband and I popped in later in the evening on a Friday night. The parking lot was full but we were thrilled when they had enough room to seat us right away. It's a little dark in there but overall a comfortable feel. We started with drinks. My husband was a little disappointed to learn they didn't have much in the way of fancy whiskey but he settled with Summit's version of a mojito and it was AWESOME. I ha LS the peach fizz that was also tasty. We had their BBQ shrimp and grit cakes appetizer. These were three big shrimp wrapped with bacon and fried crispy served with BBQ sauce on top of a pile of squashed grits with a corn and pepper relish. The grit cakes weren't really caked - I was expecting more bread and batter. But the shrimp and the grits on their own were delicious and my husband loved the corn relish. From there he ordered their version of a grilled cheese for dinner with a cup of French onion soup and I got the seafood macaroni and cheese with a side Caesar salad The Cesar was perfect - and covered with amazing shaved Parmesan. The French onion soup was delicious and it was absolutely oozing with gooey mozzarella. Starting to see a theme here? CHEESE Our server was so nice and attentive. The second we finished one course she whisked our plates away and brought the next bit. There was no waiting - which again was impressive since they were fairly busy. My husband's "grilled cheese" was six different cheeses along with roast beef and a touch of horseradish cream sauce. SO GOOD. Don't see grilled cheese and discount this as a kids meal. This was incredible And my macaroni and cheese was the perfect blend of baked and gooey. The top of the dish had an almost savory baked crust. And when you pulled a piece of macaroni from that there was a thin cream sauce beneath it. This dish was so well flavored and the way it mixed with the texture - just wonderful. I almost consider the "seafood" (scallops and shrimp) on it as secondary because the CHEESE was done so well. As it was - we didn't have room for dessert but everything we saw looked amazing. The food here never disappoints! The service is hit or miss. My most recent dining experience here was definitely a service miss. Ordered hot tea because the restaurant was freezing. I glanced at the inside of the cup and it looked like it came from the dishes waiting to be washed section of the kitchen. I pointed it out to the server who assured me it was tea stains but took the cup and brought a clean one (with stains but no residue) - hooray! Then I ordered the special and received a different special which apparently looked a lot like the special I ordered. Did a lot of waiting on this visit! At least the heavy mirror didn't fall off the wall and on to the table which is what happened on my first visit! So.... The moral of the story is YES the food is worth it but be prepared for a few glitches in the service. read more

We had a group of 9 people on Friday, February 12th. We had reservations for 7:00pm. We were not seated until 8:00 pm with orders not being taken until 8:20 and dinner not served until 9:00 pm. The experience in the bar while waiting was not good as they said there coke machine was out of syrup. We only had one person that wanted a coke all the others ordered alcoholic beverages. They served coke other drinks with alcohol in them. They clearly were not interested in serving just coke. When the dinner finally arrived there was an issue with both of the Filet plus Shrimp dinners. The one filet had a hair on it and both of the filets were clearly not filets. The first part of the filet was so tough they had to chew for 3 minutes or more. The Shrimp was cold and the overall meal was not good. For $34.95 you would think you would experience a nice meal. This is a dinner we do every couple of months with any where from 9 to 12 people. I can absolutely say that this restaurant will not be on the list again in the future. read more

Usually a favorite place but have to say the last couple of times has really disappointed. Food was just okay and the drinks were not good at all. I even tried to have them remake or choose another type but still seemed very watery. We weren't even sitting in the bar section so we were paying the full price on drinks which are way pricey for our Jackson County area. Hopefully they will figure those issues out soon. Excellent happy hour. You have to try the street tacos, they are wonderful. Also, I recommend the pot roast nachos. On a nice evening the outdoor patios with fire pits are a hit. One piece of info... We have been here a handful of times, the food is good and typically the service has been good also. Tonight was a different story though, the service was lacking at the bar while we waited for our table for 30 minutes. As a bartender one would think the more people served the better your tips would be, clearly that was not happening tonight though. We were seated after 45 minutes, they were busy and I completely understand that. Ordered street tacos to start and they came out promptly, three of us finished those and waited maybe 15 minutes for our server to come by and take our order. The three of us order, I ordered the french dip sandwich recommended by the server. Not kidding when I say twenty minutes later the server comes back and tell me they are out of the french dip sandwiches, so I had to change my order. What the heck took twenty minutes before they figured that out? Maybe it was an off night or maybe that is a typical Friday night but it was disappointing. read more

This took me a while to write as it's been poking at me for months. My now wife and I chose Summit Grill for our reception dinner. It was also unfortunately the last meal we were able to have with our entire family, prior to Covid closures and process changes. The food was great, as we expected. One of the best food presentations in the city, hands down. We brought a party of 25 and it was obvious that the restaurant was not prepared, even though we pre-booked. They seated us in a different room than we had booked. We pointed this out and were told "sorry, there's already another party in the other room," which we took as "Whatch-you gunna do about it" (in Northern Jersey accent and all). We were placed in a room next to the bar which split the party up into three different tables, rather than one long table in the private room. The music was atrociously loud 90's music and our requests to lower it were ignored. So here we are: one big dysfunctional family rehearsal dinner split up at three tables, everyone trying to yell over Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Under The Bridge" Drug references. (insert eye roll here) I felt bad for the one sever working our party of 25 (who did well, considering what he was up against), so I tipped him in cash above and beyond what my father in law tipped - built in gratuity - on the CC receipt because he was working his rear end off with little to no help. We booked well in advance, and visited the restaurant for dinner in advance so we could see which room we were booking. We booked over the phone and made sure we had what we wanted. Given the amount of money we spent, the great food, and the one server doing as well as one person could, did not outweigh the very poorly executed logistics which I hold management accountable for. The processes that failed our family's rehearsal dinner, were not in the "what" but instead in the "how." Which was highly disappointing. And there is NO "redo" for our rehearsal dinner. I would have left one star and some tears if it weren't for the fact that it was one of the best steaks I've ever had, and the one waiter was excellent considering the circumstances. Worth the price for food, presentation and service, but if you are reading this considering a party? We will not be booking this venue for family gatherings in the future. read more

I had lunch here on a Tuesday and ordered steak soup. When my came out it was cold (barely warm). So I asked server to warm it up for me. When it was delivered to the table it was VERY hot but only half filled and was mostly broth. The couple of pieces of steak were mostly fat!
