    Hot, fresh and delicious.

It's all about the donuts in the cafe. They're hot, fresh and delicious. It is a nice treat after the drive up to the peak. Plenty of parking. Eat your donuts while you acclimate, rest and take in the fantastic views. Yes, it is on the summit and will cost a little bit more but it is worth it and just take it as part of the experience and enjoy.

After the grueling hike up here, these donuts were heavenly. I don't know if it was the elevation, fatigue, or what, but these were some of the best donuts I've ever had. Absolutely the perfect and most satisfying treat after a long morning, and enjoyed with an incredible view to boot. Highly recommend this tasty experience.

Horribly long wait for donuts, only item available was the burnt pizzas When trying to order a child's plate, the employees REFUSED. Said they we're too busy to help customers. After a $70.00 entrance payment, I suggest finding a better place to go to.

I guess this is the highest elevation where a doughnut is produced. When you get to the top of Pike's Peak, you have to grab one of these bad boys. They are deliciously warm and delightful. After taking in the views, it is nice to end the experience with the charmingly sweet and delectable food that will warm your heart and spirits.

I was not expecting all of this at the top of the mountain. I've been to the Canadian Rockies before and I don't even remember them having a gift shop. It has a good selection of food, fries, hot dogs, coffee, hot coco, lots of candy, and of course donuts! The donuts were good. They have a good deal where you can buy a donut themed mug and get 2 donuts and a 12 oz drink all for 9 dollars. Probably the best price in the whole place as the other prices seemed pretty steep... but when you have no other option. The gift shop is great. A lot of choices of stuff for everyone. Everyone should try to make it to the summit at least once in their life. The views are worth it.

Gosh I really hope to see the new summit house built soon. I know the plans have been submitted and the project should be in the works, but this place is SO tired for being perched atop one of our state's main attractions. The bathrooms cleanliness left to be desired...a quick glance at the bathroom schedule showed no activity within the previous 3 hours on Veteran's day weekend when more activity was to be expected. The gift shop looked a bit tired too. The selection wasn't that breathtaking, tourists would probably be better off heading to Garden of the Gods trading post. All in all everything was a bit more sad than I remembered from 4 years ago :-/

When you're the only business located at the summit of "America's Mountain" (Pike's Peak), you've kind of got a monopoly on the dining business of the hordes of hungry backpackers, train riders, and car passengers that journey to the top of this beautiful mountain. Thankfully, the Summit House serves up some pretty decent food. However, one item takes this review to four stars: the doughnuts. I'm generally suspicious when a restaurant claims to have a "world famous" anything. But for these pastries, I understand the fame. They're heavily flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, and just barely sweet without any glaze or frosting. However, what really sets them apart is how light and fluffy they are. Supposedly, this is due to the secret recipe and the elevation. Whatever the cause, it's impressive that they retain that lovely texture even when sitting under a heat lamp. At only 99 cents for one, they're also the cheapest food item in this restaurant, where just a bottle of water will set you back $3. If you're riding the train, make a beeline for the doughnut line as soon as you arrive at the summit, otherwise you'll be stuck waiting in a 30 minute line.

The only thing more rewarding than the views are rewarding yourself with a hot donut and cup of hot chocolate. The summit house is open year round, weather permitting. And can be reached by driving up pikes peak highway 19 miles, catching the cog Railway from manitou, or by hiking/biking/climbing your way to the top at 14,115 ft. elevation. Inside the summit house will be bathrooms (godsend), a gift shop, the cafe and a station for home made fudge which is also delicious. But the donuts are to die for and are the perfect way to kickback and relax while enjoying the view. They're $.99 so how can you go wrong with these world famous treats that are baked at elevation! Simply once in a lifetime kind of experience.

A cozy stop at the end of a long and winding ascent to the top of Pikes Peak mountain. Amazingly their famous onion-ring sized fried donuts are good combination with their chili. It's impressive that the servers here work double-dutied as EMT personnel. I guess you will have to 'hold the fries' when there is an emergency. Their beef barley soup hits the spot as well.

Cafe was closing down before the last train even arrived. No food available, no doughnuts, just packaged candy or cookies left.

Love the donuts here! So yummy! But eat them at the restaurant/top because they tend to deflate if you take them down to lower elevation!

I didn't eat at the restaurant, but this is the only entry for what's on the peak, and no entry for the peak itself.

As amazing as the donuts are, don't overlook the cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies, they're some of the best I've ever had and are worth a trip all on their own!

Coming from SoCal, we have a lot of really good donut shops, so I'll admit... I'm a bit of a donut snob lol. I can definitely tell when oil is old, donuts aren't fresh, or when the texture of raised and cake donuts is off. Everything here was seriously so good. I got the breakfast flight, and it was AMAZING. The banana coffee was delicious, and I honestly didn't expect to love the everything bagel donut as much as I did! I also tried a few other donuts, and the lavender donut was the bomb.com -- perfectly balanced floral and sweet without being overpowering. The pretzel chocolate donut was incredible too. Not only was the food amazing, but the shop itself is so cute and has such a welcoming vibe. You can really tell how much love and care goes into everything. This adorable little couple-run donut shop is absolutely worth all the Instagram hype. I almost fan-girled and told them I'd been following them forever on IG lol, but didn't want to come off weird I'll probably be making another stop there on Wednesday before heading back to SoCal!

Nothing crazy, but everything done well! Not pictured is the classic glaze and chocolate glaze donuts (the cakey ones). I think those were better than the strawberry. The strawberry classic donut was in my opinion, too sweet. Too much glaze. It was a bit much. But the other two were perfectly fried and had a great texture. A little crumbly, but moist. The spot smells the second you are near it. It's heavenly! And the pricing is really good in my opinion. I mean, at least for what I was used to back in Washington DC. The cashier was nice and quick. He helped us out because we had never been before. Although I wish they put little signs up so we could see what each flavor was. I got tired of asking what each donut flavor was!! I'd come back if I'm in the area. It definitely sufficed my donut hankering.

They also seemed dry. The young people working the counter said the donuts were made fresh that morning. With their comments about freshly made we had high hopes for great donuts. We got a strawberry glazed with sprinkles, a chocolate filled with cream, raspberry filled, and one cake doughnut (which hasn't been touched). I will say staff was polite and the place was clean. It was a rustic looking shop with several seats for dinning in. The donuts were large. It was $15 /4 donuts. Not sure if we'll give it another try when we're in that area. I give it a two only because staff was friendly and shop was clean.

There are many options of how many donuts you want, I think single, 3 per box, half a dozen and s full dozen! I got 3 donuts, original glazed, salted caramel and cookies and cream. It's nice that they make it fresh. I thought they were okay! The texture and the flavors were good but not my favorite. I also got the avocado smoothie, with tapioca boba balls. I am not sure if they use fresh avocado, but it tasted like the avocado was either not ripe or has gone bad, it had a rotten smell to it, and the tapioca boba balls were bitter. I am not sure if it was the mixture. It was very disappointing. Also, theres a PIF fee, I am new to the area, so I didn't know what it was. Other places let you know that theres that charge, maybe there was a sign and I didn't see, but if I didn't ask for my receipt I wouldn't know. Dont really like the hidden fees. Overall, box of 3 donut was $9 which was a good price for mochi donuts and the drink was $7 which I found a little expensive. Would love to give this place another try!
