I dropped in to look at their selection and was pleased to find a great selection of items I like to buy but sometimes I have trouble finding, like Turtle Fur headbands. THe prices were reasonable and the owner?employee? was very helpful even when I stated I wasn't buying anything that day. Specifically for not taking ownership of a quality issue after service and making excuses about not being able to do anything about it. I brought in two pairs of skis. One used pair that needed a wax and sharpen. The other was a brand new pair of Armada Reliance 102 Tis that I brought over, still in the shrink wrap, that just needed new bindings mounted. I'm not a new skier, I've always owned my skis and know how to take care of them. I picked up the skis and the pair that just needed to be mounted were damaged. The top sheet had scratches that looked like they were from someone taking a screw driver to it. There were straight line scratches on the base. I called and the technician said I could come in and he'd take a look but that there were hundred of skis in their work shop and that top sheet scratches were normal and could happen from being on the racks. But these weren't just regular scratches. There were areas on the base that they said couldn't be filled in because they weren't deep enough, and that I would end up having scratches from skiing on them anyways. I left without a resolution or a fix. Something happened to my skis and no one is owning up to it. The skis even look like they were sharped and waxed but that wasn't even a service I requested for the specific skis. The technician couldn't even come up from the shop to discuss with me. I really wanted to like this place but never taking my skis to be serviced here again. read more

Summit ski has been our local shop for about 4 years now. We have worked with them A LOT as my son developed into a competitive freestyle skier. We have purchased several pairs of skis and bindings and had various mounts/remounts of bi dings as needed. Jack and Danny have always been willing to take the time to discuss boot fit - even if purchased elsewhere - and help problem solve as my don't feet outgrow boots mid season (shave out room in toe box for example). They have done various repairs as he has broken multiple skis over the course of his competitive time - reattached crushed edges, cracked edges, core shot repairs (dang rocks), etc. While Danny had gone on to new adventures, Jack has been so helpful in discussing ski and boot options as our son also does skiercross racing, which required gs skis. We appreciate them! And fyi - in the late fall it can take a couple weeks for a tune up due to the volume of customers - I have read the negative reviews - and the store is not responsible for a customer's poor planning. read more

I love to support local businesses. As a lifelong skier, I know what I like and do my homework before buying. These guys know their stuff and made excellent recommendations for me and my family. Tuneups are dead on and I'm treated like an old friend when I'm there. They have been there for a long time for a reason. read more

Summit Ski & Sport is THE place for all of your skiing and snowboard needs. These guys really know their stuff! They are knowledgeable and friendly. How can you call this a ski and snowboard shop when 1 or 2 people try to ski or snowboard. Fat people can't ski or snowboard. A real shop all employees ski, snowboard or at least skateboard. The place is in desperate need of a remodel. They still rent out the same skiis, boots and snowboards for the past 15 years. Im sure everybody would want to use a pair of those. The clothes they carry there for me has to be the worst selection I have ever seen. Picture? Tail? There is stuff in there since the store first opened. I've been going to this shop for Ski tuneups for many, many years and have always been greeted by friendly staff and have had great experience with their service. I walked in today for an annual tuneup and was greeted by the most rude, condecending shop employee who's attitude was completely unacceptable. What has changed here? Small town shops like these live and die by their relationship with customers and I would think they would especially value repeat customers. This person obviously is not concerned with any of this and was not interested in taking my business. Stay away. read more

Walked in today (3/29 at 3:30) to get a pair of ski gloves. 4 people in the store and no one said hello or asked if I wanted help. Finally when I asked one of the employees for ski gloves he stated he had just stored a box of them and begrudgingly would have to go get it. There was one pair of women's gloves (I need mittens) and though the yellow sticker was slightly discounted I asked if there was any more discount as there were signs everywhere of their huge 50-70% off winter sale. No further discount so I wasn't going to purchase them. On my way out I asked the others for a business and I was ignored! I am a long time customer - we've bought skis there and every year we rent seasonal skis and boots for our kids (hundreds of $$). Never again will I give them business. read more

For what I would consider a higher end store, their customer service is hit or miss depending on who is working. We bought our skis and boots last year at Summit, but for additional rentals this year, we're going someplace else. Their equipment seems to be of good quality, but I skipped them completely this year....a few minutes dealing with Stephanie's attitude and immaturity and I decided I didn't need to pay a premium to deal with what I would describe as a bad teen attitude. read more
