The store is not large so we located the section we needed right away. However, we still couldn't find or determine if the item we were looking at was right for us (again, no one ever asked us if we needed help) and eventually landed on a garden flag stand. We had been to several stores previously for weeks and like to buy local instead of online when we can. This was the first store we found that had substantially stronger garden flag stakes. This whole time, there was a man working that kept his eyes on me and my partner but especially me, scowling. I just ignored it as RBF cause he was an older man, and I had done nothing but smile and greet him when we came in. I could feel him staring at me several times while we were shopping. Every time, I just smiled and he'd look away. We decided to look around the store after deliberating alone for about twenty minutes to see if maybe we could get other gifts for people and bought a few other items. Note, there were two older women working and the older man. When we got to the store, there may have been only 1 other person in there. A small family had also come in at one point but left before we did. Otherwise, the store was entirely empty. At checkout, there were two areas to check out of at the counter. We were still meandering when I came up to one side to look at the stickers. He alerted us that check out was on the other side. He checked us out and I realized he had bagged our items, but we had brought our own bag. When I mentioned this, my partner was like, "Oh yeah! We have our own, we don't need one but thank you." I added in, "Yes save it for another transaction." This man, scowled and stared me down for a solid 15-20 seconds--he literally kept his head facing me, locking his eyes on mine as he put the bag back in the rack behind him. It was so awkward and uncomfortable and honestly rude. I just smiled bigger at him politely, but widened by eyes to make it clear that I DID see him rudely staring at me for refusing a bag. He finally relented, greeted us goodbye. The other female worker had just come back up to the checkout platform as well as we walked out and thanked us with a goodbye as well. It was a very odd shopping experience. The store is very quaint and woodsy. Items are priced to match inflation. They have a variety of things not just for ornithology enthusiasts. The garden flag stand was the best we could find in the area and is very sturdy. I had contemplated coming back to get a bird bath, but I'll try elsewhere cause of the weird interaction.

In fact I brought all my stuff back and got my money back because they don't deserve my money for the way they act it's horrible and like I said, I tried on different occasions and I'm a very friendly and outgoing person And this store is extremely rude. They just don't deserve my hard work and money.

It Is What It Is Did…read moreyou ever wonder when it became not unusual to find hand tools and lawn chairs in your local grocery store? Well, Tractor Supply is a hardware and a store for folks who work outside. That's it, it is not trying to be anything else. When you need just 3 lock washers, and not a prepackaged assortment on a sealed package of 12 lock washers, Tractor Supply is there for you. Or maybe you need PVC pipe, or a stock tank, animal feed, coveralls, a lawn mower, or affordable hand tools, they are there for you. It is kind of like what hardware stores used to be - before they became "home centers." Looking closely, you might notice that while there might not be a large selection of brands, there is a great selection of useful hardware items. And those items are usually good quality and at a reasonable price. I have always been greeted at the door, and if I appeared lost someone would come to my aid. Being less than a half mile from my home I have come to think of it as my other work shop when I need that one item to finish a project. While you might not be able to order a full kitchen remodel, you will easily find the faucet washer you need to stop that leaking faucet in your current kitchen. So do not think of it as some kind of farm store, think of it as your savior when your tool box does not contain the specific piece of hardware that it hold you up. Most any home owner or shade tree mechanic should have Tractor Supply loaded in their GPS.

It was the weekend, so I left a message with an avian vet. In the meantime, I decided I was going to go to all pet shops that sold exotic pets to see if I could get advice. I came across this store and had my bird with me. The shop owner was so nice and helpful. Although he doesn't sell animals he had his in the shop. That included a few baby birds he was hand feeding. Out of the kindness of his heart he is hand feeding my bird until he starts eating enough on his own. He even weighs him to make sure he isn't losing weight. He truly loves animals. Fast forward a week, I noticed his birds were gone. Some idiot, instead of just asking what was going on with the birds, called animal control and said that he had skinny birds with missing feathers. The birds were babies. Babies aren't born with adult feathers!! The birds were not skinny. They were well taken care of. He didn't get the birds taken away...because he did nothing wrong. Anyway...he is a super nice guy and didn't deserve that. People need to stop assuming they know everything. If they would have just asked, he would have told them they were babies and babies aren't fully feathered. A simple google search could have told them that instead of wasting tax dollars.

The PetCo down the highway had never heard of this. Neither did a Facebook group of ferret owners that I am a member of. If you aren't able to sell ferrets any longer, just say that. Don't lie straight to my face. What else would he lie about?
