After a long hike, this is the spot to stop for dinner. My friend and I came here expecting a normal sushi restaurant and had absolutely no idea it was all you can eat sushi and a buffet. We were completely flabbergasted - in the best way possible. It felt like we had hit the jackpot! You can literally see the excitement on my face in the photos. There are so many options that it's almost overwhelming! Our waitress was so helpful and helped us navigate how to order. You order off your phone and scan the QR code. I ordered the $30 tier, but if I could do it again, I'd spend the extra few dollars and get the next tier up (around $35). It's 100% worth it because that's the one that includes the Sumo nigiri you see in Instagram photos. They also have unlimited miso soup, plenty of sushi rolls, hot food, and even dessert. Honestly, it felt like a dream come true for a sushi lover. If you've worked up an appetite after a hike or workout, or you're just absolutely starving for sushi - go to Sumo Sushi. Come hungry!

Fresh Clam grilled , seasonal item

Sushi is huge ! Seasonal fresh clam is too good, cooked well and no shrinking. Bottom onion slice absorbed juice from clam, double tasty ! Buffett is not about your try, you service yourselves. Sumo sushi staff Kimi bring her beautiful smile , remember your all family members / kids age, introduce new seasonal items without asking ! Our water has been refilled 5-6 times and dirty dishes take out right way, regardless is kitchen staff or manager pass-by ! I can sense the happiness among all staff here... Coming from California, seeing a $30 Japanese food AYCE is a steal. The choices of food were great with Shabu Shabu, rolls, buffet, etc was great value. Dinner off the cooked items lacked seasoning. Portion size was pretty decent. Staff were friendly and attentive and the place was generally clean. Good value, I'd be back if I'm in the area

I saw this place recently opened in N Portland and was excited to give it a try. We went at dinner time and bought the gold level package. It didn't disappoint. Highlights: 1. Freshness of food. Fish, shrimp and clams were very fresh in everything we tried. Sashimi, sushi, etc., raw or cooked. 2. Menu variety in the gold package is great. Covers the most popular items of a sushi place, plus a wide range of grill, noodle, snacks, etc. 3. The self serving buffet bar is surprisingly good. Great variety, great quality. I always know the quality of food by looking at the buffet part's fruit and salad. If they look fresh and perky that means everything is well cared for and not sitting there for a long time. Freshness is key! 4. Staff were friendly and helpful when I had questions. 5. Generous portions. Though the rule is 15 orders per 15minutes, we were filled after 3 rounds. They did not cheap down on their items' sizes including sashimi cuts. They were great! But pace yourself, no rush, 90 minutes is definitely enough time even for big eaters. Don't waste food, as that will be charged extra at almost $13/lb. 6. First timer discount and bday discount makes the price even greater. 7. Fun dining environment, and robotic delivery machines. My favorite orders: 1. Sashimi of all sorts 2. Grilled Asian razor clams 3. Unagi don (eel rice bowl) 4. Seaweed salad from buffet bar 5. Corn chunks in the crayfish boil from buffet bar Something I wish they could improve on: 1. The wasabi was too light for me. I wish they make it more spicy or offer an option to get it spicy. 2. I wish there was low sodium soy sauce. I got very thirsty the whole night with how much soy sauce I had. Overall, run to it and enjoy!

I ordered Sumo Rolls, Salmon avocado rolls and Tuna Lover Rolls. My favorite was Sumo Rolls. They were all delicious though. I regret that i didn't dine in. It was fun watching the robot deliver food to the tables. The inside looks modern. I like the umbrellas on the ceiling. The price for AYCE menu looks reasonable. I saw a sign that no tip is needed as they add 12% service charge to all bills. I think that's very reasonable. I'd come back for AYCE one day.

Variety of table menu and buffet dishes- all you can eat

This restaurant chain just opened a new Delta Park location in an old Sherries restaurant building. The remodel is beautiful and the staff is friendly and welcoming. This is buffet style eating with an additional table menu and the per person price is about $20-21 for lunch. The food is extremely fresh and very good. You will not be disappointed!

    Sushi!

Good quality sushi at a reasonable price. Hot tip! Pace yourself. There is a 15 item limit, every 15 minutes. You do not have to worry. The portion size is good and you will fill up faster than you expect to. Nice staff. Cute robots. Save room for ice cream or try to. We got the gold menu and it was worth it.

I've had Xin Ding Dumpling House bookmarked for over a year, so I was excited to finally cross it…read moreoff my list while visiting family. Since we had our dog with us, we ordered everything to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel just down the street. Just a heads up if you're planning the same, there wasn't any outdoor dining available. Being from the SF Bay Area, one of the first things we looked for was Har Gow and Siu Mai, but they weren't labeled the way we're used to. After asking, we found out the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings are their Har Gow, and the Shrimp Siu Mai contains pork, which was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered two of each. We also ordered two Beef Chow Fun, Combination Fried Rice, Eggplant with Minced Pork, Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs, and three pear sodas. The dim sum absolutely hit the spot. The Har Gow and Siu Mai were well seasoned, nicely prepared, and exactly what we had been craving. The Beef Chow Fun was another winner. We were glad we ordered two because we found ourselves reaching for it more than the fried rice. The Eggplant with Minced Pork was also delicious. The eggplant was cooked perfectly -- tender without becoming mushy -- and the seasoning was right on point. I'm also glad we changed our order from the House Special Spare Ribs to the Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs. Unlike many versions, these weren't battered and fried, so the pork maintained a great texture while still being coated in a flavorful sweet and sour sauce. One unexpected favorite was the pear soda. It's made with Asian pear, so the flavor is much lighter and more refreshing than the sweeter pear sodas we're used to. The only hiccup? They're bottled with a traditional cap, and since we were staying in a hotel, we quickly realized we didn't have a bottle opener. Let's just say we got a little creative. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed our large takeout order and packed it thoughtfully. They included six extra takeout containers, plenty of forks, chopsticks, and napkins, which ended up being incredibly helpful since we were eating in a hotel room with no paper plates or utensils. It's a small gesture, but one that definitely didn't go unnoticed. Overall, we were really happy with our meal. This place lived up to being on my bookmark list for over a year, and I'd happily come back the next time we're staying in downtown Portland.

The portions were beyond generous, and each meal had nothing lacking. The meat in both dishes was tender and juicy, the noodles were cooked perfectly, soft but with a chew, and everything came out fast! The chicken noodle was more savory, and the japchae was a bit sweeter, but still standing with a savory component. We also ordered chicken dumplings and they were perfect. Crispy but nice on the inside, and whatever the sauce was that came with it is something I will continue to think about weekly. We were on vacation from the east coast and wish we found this place sooner in the trip. The restaurant is tiny and is all self serve, but the gentleman who brought out our dishes was very kind. I will say I don't know the area well, but there were pockets of the neighborhood that didn't feel the safest.

Perhaps it was because we got there about an hour before closing? But the food was too oily and looked sloppy. No real customer interaction or service since you order through a kiosk.
