not surprised this location has significantly worse reviews than other locations. I did have a good experience at the west Tropicana location. However I'm not surprised reading all the reviews to be careful if you are a woman. My girlfriend took her car here, and after the initial quote they tried to upsell her on many extra services. The initial quote was quite high but she agreed. After asking my advice I found another shop that would complete the service at half the price. When she called to cancel, they told her she would be responsible for the parts they ordered on her behalf. She agreed and then asked for only the original requested services to be completed, not the 4 extra services they tried to push on her. They did not offer her alternatives, just sold her the most expensive parts and tires. Extremely disappointed in how they treated her. When she had me talk to the service manager, she noted how their tone changed. I brought my Toyota Sienna 2013 in. Knew I needed an AC system changed. Total $1800 at first. When the work was done, they call and ask for another $1200 to stall the gasket fan. Total of $2900 with a Costco membership. I felt that I was trap with the gasket fan thing. If I knew from the beginning that it would cost around $3000 to fix my car AC, I would have shop around and pretty sure I would have found a cheaper option. They messed up the 1st day, the connection of my AC was wrong. I needed to bring it back the next day. Even when I was talking to the service guy in the front to pick up the car the 1st day, he does not seem trust worthy at all. Again, I felt trap with the gasket fan for a Toyota Sienna that I pay an extra $1200. I appreciate this location and their kindness. I have taken my car to a couple different Sun Autos around the area because I have had good experiences and don't feel like I am talked down to! This location and the fellas working the front are friendly and appreciative of any customer who goes in there! Of course they match the vibe!! That seems to be like anywhere these days though! I went in for an oil change, easy to schedule online appointments. They said 60-90 minutes....mine took a bit longer because a new car doesn't make it easy for them to do their part...especially if car companies want you going to their dealer over anywhere else! I was patient and understanding - it was out of their control and in return they were friendly with me and completely apologetic for how long it was taking. I had a flat tire. They tried their best to see if it could be fixed but unfortunately it could not. They went above and beyond by going to another store and grabbing a tire for me since they did not have it in stock. They rotated my tires, changed my tire and even changed my oil in just 2 hours. They are helpful and friendly and didn't try to upscale me or rip me off most importantly. They are my new favorite for all car services and I fully trust and vouch for them. Worst experience with a mechanic shop in a long time. Stay away from this place. I called them to diagnose my check engine light and repair a flat tire. Three hours later, they called back with a $3,700 quote, saying I needed to replace all the catalytic converters and the entire fuel pump system. I decided not to move forward with the service. The next morning, they called again saying they couldn't repair my tire because it was "too old." That didn't make sense -- the tire needing repair is only two years old and actually has the best tread of all four tires. The associate also said they couldn't put the tires back on, which I didn't understand. Then they offered me what they called a "great deal" on four new tires for $450 -- even though I originally came in for an engine light, not tires. When I went back to the shop, the manager greeted me with, "So... no tires?" I paid the $230 diagnostic fee, and the manager (Steve) said, "We're done!" -- without explaining anything about the diagnosis or even offering a printout of the report I paid for. I had to ask for an explanation and a copy of the diagnostic report. While explaining, the manager told his associate, "Can you take care of this guy?" which felt dismissive and unprofessional. It seemed like they were annoyed that I didn't approve the $3,700 repair or buy new tires. They didn't fix my flat, and if I hadn't asked, they wouldn't have even provided the diagnostic paperwork I paid for. After getting a second reading at a smog shop, the only issue that came back was catalytic converter failure, which may simply be related to oxygen sensors -- a much smaller potential issue than what I was quoted. The team at Sun Auto did not try to help me, save me money, or clearly explain my options. I will not be going back. If you're reading this in 2026, I would strongly recommend staying away from this place. read more

Got a second opinion from a trustworthy local independent mechanic (Diamond Collision on Arville) and they did it for under $300. Sun Auto on Cactus wanted to do a bunch of unnecessary work with the parts purchased at insane prices. A quick google search showed me I could get them at 1/5th the cost they said they cost, ordered them myself, and then found after a second mechanic looked at the car that most of the work didn't need to be done at all. read more

Came to this location as right by our home. I requested for an oil change and tire rotation. It took over 6 hrs to complete the job and had to call the store for an update. When I came to pick up my car that was parked on the side, all the windows were left open and even left the service papers on the top of my car. Came back again another time because a lug nut was missing on one of my tires. They were kind enough to order me the missing lug nut; came back later that day to get it fixed just to go home to see that the lug nut wasn't quite the right size. People here friendly but unfortunately the service is lacking. read more

These guys are great. I was leaving for a golf trip and was already running behind. Go out start car and battery is dead. An hour later road side service shows up. Now im really running late. Go to Sun Auto and they're busy. Tell me hour an half to get it fixed. They can see my frustration and ask what's going on. I tell them and they immediately get me in. They also saw that my battery was still under warranty and they would replace it. I was in and out in 30 min. Don't want to tell you what I had to go through with those guys, it's too much. They will over price you for sure, and that would be ok if they do a great job-but they don't. Very pleased with my Sun Auto experience, I needed a 30,000 mile service on my 2018 Ford Fusion which requires coolant, transmission & brakes systems flushed & filled as well as fuel injectors cleaned and Air and Cabin filters replaced. You could have kicked my jaw shut when the Ford Dealer quoted me their price. Sun Auto completed the work on time and at half the price as the Ford Dealer. They even included a tire alignment. At 8am the guy behind the counter told me it would take 1-2 hours just to take a look. I told him the situation where I called and was told to come by. I then asked to make an appointment. "We don't make appointments for this kind of thing". When I told him this is why you have 2.5 stars on Yelp he told me I could leave. He made sure I went away. I visited the shop as my tire pressure light was on and I wanted someone to take a look. I waited over 25 minutes outside in 95 degree weather as I was told I had to wait outside for help. I was told everyone was busy working yet the technician "Steve" was standing in the shop smoking a cigarette telling me he's unavailable to help. He claimed he was the manger, but hesitated when I asked him for his name, then told me to go to tire works if I can't wait after waiting 25 minutes. Horrible customer service. I have been going to Sun Auto for about 5 years now. Any time they've quoted me for a repair or service. I send the quote to my brother in law who is a mechanic for the state and he has always been impressed with their prices and has always approved their prices. Most recently I needed a catalytic converter, purge valve and 02 censor. I knew it would be pricy. While dealing with Ed and Steve (service advisor and manager) they advised me of a credit serve they partner with called Snap Finance. This option gives customers the ability to pay off their repair in 100 days with no interest. They applied every discount they could possibly do and brought my total well below what I was expecting. After doing my repairs my car had a few issues with the parts they installed. The next day I brought it back and they warranties the parts and replaced them with no problems. There was an issue with my a/c after the repair and Ed actually had that issue fixed without charging me, even though it may have been unrelated to the repairs they did. Truly grateful for a shop that isn't just out to nickel and dime their customers. I work in the hospitality industry and am the sole provider for my family if 4. I truly believe God blessed me with this shop that had integrity and compassion. They treat their longtime customers like family and really take our loyalty into consideration. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received at Sun Auto. I have been a loyal customer for many years, having spent tens of thousands of dollars at their shop. I knew the staff by name, including Steve and Ed. However, my recent experience has left me feeling betrayed and taken advantage of. In April 2024, I brought my vehicle to Sun Auto for a mid to basic repair that most would be covered under my extended warranty. Despite this, I was without my car for three full months (end of July). The staff showed no concern in trying to get my vehicle back to me, they would making excuses and lying about the progress of the repair. They promised that it would take another week, but it ended up taking months more. I reached out to the corporate office in frustration, and while they intervened, the progress was still slow. Steve offered to take a few hundred dollars off the bill, but it was a meager discount considering the trouble and stress I had endured. When I finally picked up my vehicle, it was in a not much better than the condition that it was when I dropped it off. It was so dirty, was totally out of gas, the coolant was totally empty, and was making a huge loud noises the full way home it didn't feel even safe to drive. It felt like it was about to fall apart. It almost felt like they messed the vehicle up even more maybe becauseI I called corporate on they when they were not getting it done. I still have issues with the vehicle and will need to save up more money to take it to another shop. I believe that Sun Auto should have been honest with me from the beginning. If they were not equipped to handle the repair, they should have told me so that I could take my vehicle elsewhere. I feel that I have been taken advantage of and that Sun Auto owes me a full refund for the portion of the bill that I had to pay after the warranty. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Sun Auto for anything more than an oil change to reconsider. I will never return to their shop, even for that. read more

Not only did I pay almost 200 for the diagnostic for them to return my car with a sensor not working or reset properly. When i asked them what happened with the sensor or if they drained my gas or why my tank shows nothing when I had 1/2 a tank going in their answer was" i dont know maybe try driving it." Not a place I would trust to touch my car again. In addition my car was still leaking gas from the fuel pump repair done by the sister company as confirmed by another location and not the value these guys diagnosed. Which by the way is super dangerous. Also a question I asked before leaving this place to which they said I fine to drive the vehicle. Overall uneducated and just trying to rack up more repair bills.
