Tried supporting a small business rather than the dealership and the lady tried reselling me a service they had done months prior and argued with me about them not doing it, when she actually looked she indeed saw the service. The service would have been around $200 and was something suggested so causally over the phone. She also had the audacity to look up the vehicle report and suggest that oil changes were done by self, not sure how that's any of her business. Overall not a good experience be careful with them adding unnecessary charges. There's better mechanics out there 100%. 9th island automotive will not be getting any more of my money. Also this was a few months ago now and it still annoys me how I was treated. No issues with the maintenance just with the owners. read more

I just recently tried out a local repair shop off of sunset. I recently renewed a extended warranty for my vehicles and was not aware that a lot of shops do not take Car Shield. Well, this shop does. Calling and making an appointment was easy. They are tucked in off of Sunset. I showed up and explained the basic service that I needed for my truck and also some concerns I had. All of my concerns were checked out completely. I took some time and asked some other questions about my 4x4. I felt that all of my concerns were listen to and I felt like a I mattered even though this was my first time there. I plan on returning again with my truck for repairs and required maintenance. 9th Island automotive has gained a customer. We had several problems with our old 2006 Honda Pilot ranging from a small oil leak on the driveway to a jiggly noise from a loose latch on the back hatch which opens the trunk area. I called and spoke to Alise after our amazing auto body repair man, Oscar, across the street, Unicar Collision, recommended 9th. Island. She and I came up with a list of things that needed work and we left the car with them. The repairs were done and they kept us informed via text each time they discovered what was needed and the cost of each. They had the car ready ahead of schedule and we have been very satisfied with the repairs. I found them to be very efficient and easy to deal and I always prefer to have the mechanic be an owner because they seem to take more pride and accountability in their work. Alise was very kind so I'm happy to know we have a place I can trust to do repairs in the future. They're not going to be your cheapest estimate for work but you can count on the quality which means so much when it's an older vehicle and your only transportation. Highly recommend! read more

Well what can i say. This place would get 5 stars if Braddah Jesse was still here. My family has been going to braddah jess for 15yrs, good man always took care of my cars and was such an honest guy. Us 9th Islanders sure lost a good/honest person. Now for the 1 star review! I had my car there and the kid that called me said they couldnt fix it because braddah jess was the only one that could. When i went to pick it up i had some concerns and spoke with the "owner" who sounded like she could careless about my issues. A service tech referred me to 9th Island Automotive in Henderson. What an outstanding experience! The owners wife who expertly man's the phones quickly explained my problem to Rob, and told me to bring my car in the following morning when they opened. When I arrived Rob quickly found the new regulator, had it delivered to his shop, installed it an had me back on the road in less than two hours! I was dumb enough to believe him. He had my car for months, gave us the run around. Paid him thousands for a new motor. Finally got my car back, he did not change the motor! He only changed the bearings which cost pennies compared to a new motor. When it came time for him to give us the receipt for the "warranty", of course he gave the run around again. We brought our vehicle to this shop. As soon as I saw the shop I knew I was in the right place. This shop is immaculate, you can eat of the floors. The owner does a lot of his own work. My truck needed a part that was on backorder, but the owner Rob, went above and beyond to track down a part that was out of state. We bring our truck to NY every summer and Rob performed services on my truck so we would make the trip safely. We picked up the truck last week and our truck never ran so well.
