They have 10 stations, but for oil change it's just couple of them in use. While the service was quick, place is little congested. Being my first time, I entered the parking lot not realizing where to wait in line. I was very promptly and kindly told to drive to the other side and wait in line. There was no line, no sign, and nobody to direct me, so I juts waited till they called me. A little pricey, but these guys definitely take care of you. The person who assisted me and reassured me that he'd get me in and out, which he did. They do have few parking spots outside the store for waiting.

My car was making noise and I asked the dealership to look at it during an oil change. I was told that my exhaust system wasn't looking good. The heat shield was rattling a lot, so they clamped that down but I was looking at a few thousand dollars in repairs. Their suggestion was to start shopping for a new car as mine is 12 years old. The thing is that I'm not ready to part with her. No new car currently on the market stirs the same passion in me the way my current car does. I look at her (yes, it's a her and named Eponine) and I still feel like a proud owner. After looking at reviews, I saw that this shop was getting solid reviews and decided to give it a shot. Going forward, whenever I can, I'm going to choose Kirk over the dealership. The price I was quoted for the work was reasonable and the work was done in a very timely manner. I am very happy with the work and even happier that I feel like I've found a place that can help me keep Eponine around for many more years.

On my way out the door this past Thursday, I discovered a sheet metal screw in my rear driver's side tire and had to cancel a $80+ batch that I had picked up and was in panic-mode in an attempt to find and get to a tire repair facility before my tire went completely flat. Luckily, God was with me that day and I happened to be less than a mile from the Doraville store and managed to limp in there with just enough air in my tire to avoid damage to the wheel itself. As soon as I walked in the store, one of your young associates, Saul, looked at me and I think could read the desperation on my face, and he asked what he could help me with. Saul was professional, friendly, courteous, and immediately assessed the situation and assured me that he would get me back on the road within the hour, which he did, and for which I am eternally grateful! Thank you to Pep Boys and to Saul for being there when I needed you and for taking such good care of me. One constructive comment before I go. I have noticed that the automotive repair industry as a whole has a challenge keeping their stores / facilities in good working order and repair, and Pep Boys Doraville store is no exception. The young group of associates who work in this location, along with the customers who come here, deserve better - a nicer, cleaner facility. I'm not sure who runs facilities for Pep Boys, but you would be doing yourselves a huge favor by implementing a system wide renovation program, followed by a well-funded ongoing repair and maintenance program. I decided to give them another chance. Clearly a mistake. I made an appointment on the website for 8:00am to get my check light checked and see why it's running rough. Arrived 5 minutes early and the store was dark. Called the store number, spoke to a guy who said he would check, then left me on hold for 12 minutes, then cut me off. Called again and was speaking to a woman for a few minutes when someone showed up. Both people on the phone said that they don't open until 9:00, but the website says 8:00, took my reservation, and I even got text reminders. See the screen shot of the website. So I waited until 10 minutes after 9:00 and finally approached the counter and was told that they were waiting on their "diagnostic guy" and could not do anything until he arrived. At that point I took my keys and left. The poor service and level of indifference is unacceptable for any business. The (I guess) manager (Reid) could not have been less concerned that I had been waiting well past the appointment or that the website (and underlying appointment function) does not work. By the way, if you are going to park people in the waiting room, try cleaning it sometime. I will be in touch with Pep Boys corporate this week.

I really wanted to give a positive review because the brake pad replacement itself went smoothly,…read morebut unfortunately the experience took a turn afterward. When I went outside after the service, I immediately noticed a lug nut was missing. After looking closer, I saw that the wheel stud itself was broken - which I know for a fact was not damaged prior to the repair. When I contacted the mechanic about it, he did not deny breaking it and asked me to go purchase a new stud and lug nut, which I did right away. He said he would return to install it, but after that point communication became very unreliable. I texted several times with no response. When he finally replied "yes" to confirm he would complete the repair, he still never followed through. Since then, my messages have gone unanswered. On top of that, he told me the broken stud was "no big deal" and that he knows someone who drives around with multiple broken studs - which was extremely concerning to hear from someone responsible for vehicle safety. I don't feel comfortable driving with a broken wheel stud, and the situation has been left unresolved. I wish this could have been a positive review, but based on the lack of accountability, poor communication, and safety concerns, it cannot be.

For 4 days I did. I put on another 4-500 miles and made sure to follow the drive cycle test parameters as frequently as possible. I had tried to call Tilly Mill several times and got no response, so I wasn't very hopeful, but I went up there to at least talk with them. I drove up on a Monday first thing in the morning. I briefly explained the situation to Danny and how I needed the fix in by Friday. He sort of brushed off my concern, said he could definitely fix it, and to bring it in Wednesday. I didn't have any other options, so I took it in Wednesday. When I dropped it off, two other people came to get not very urgent repairs. Danny said he didn't have time for them. When one got mad and said they wouldn't come back, he said he was in this business for 30 or 40 years and business has never been bad. At that point I knew I liked him. When I dropped the car off and reiterated my need to have it done by noon on Friday he was still pretty dismissive of me. I tried calling for an update that afternoon and got a busy signal. I tried calling for an update Thursday morning. Same busy signal. I tried calling, faxing, and emailing Thursday afternoon. Busy signal and no response. Friday morning I was driving up there to get an answer and I get a call at ~8am telling me it was done and had the emissions run on it. Essentially, all my anal retentive worrying was for naught. I'm sure he has made mistakes in his years of business, but he had the confidence and straight forward attitude that made it hard not to trust him. Couple that with fair prices and even though they're a half hour away from me on a good day, they're now my go-to mechanic for bigger jobs.
