Ok, so I'll be honest: I'm very tempted not to write this review because I don't want one of San Diego nail salons' best kept secrets to get out! Don't be fooled by Euro Nails' unassuming exterior and questionable location in a strip mall off of Clairemont Mesa & Convoy, this is one of (if not THE) best nail salons in San Diego. I am VERY picky about the way my nails are done; I basically expect them to be perfect every time or I'm not satisfied. As you can tell by the number of reviews I've done on places to get your nails done, I've been to a lot of nail salons and I know a good thing when I've found it. Lee is hands down the best person I've ever had do acrylics for me. She keeps my nails short, thin, and natural-looking; many people don't even know they're fake! Instead of using the white tips that grow out and look crummy, she free-hands my french polish each week and does an excellent job. She also uses a nice trick to make sure the gel is applied smoothly and evenly: she uses a candle warmer to heat the gel before she applies it! Now, on to Lance. BEST. MASSAGE. EVER. Lance specializes in reflexology and gives killer foot massages. He's also quite talented at nail art and does cute flower designs for me each time I come in. His work is very high quality and lasts for 3-4 weeks without chipping! There are a few downsides, so I would be remiss in excluding them from my review. One is that the massage chairs leave much to be desired. They are basically just rollers that go up and down your back in the same motion over and over. Also, $1 charge for credit cards. But these are pretty minor flaws in the grand scheme of things. Now, for the prices: $40 for a Spa Manicure and Pedicure with a 15 minute Reflexology Foot Massage, $22 for Gel Fills, $4 for French polish, $4 for Designs on my big toes. NOT great! I came here because I read good reviews on here. I did not like it very much. I went in for a full set of pink and white acrylics. I will admit, I am picky when it comes to my nails but I thought it would be okay because of all the strong feedback here . . . not so much. The pink was literally HOT PINK I told Lee it looked bad and she had to file them down for 10 minutes because they were so THICK - I hate thick fake looking nails and that is what they looked like! She did try to fix them but they still don't look very good. The white tips were half way down my nail before I asked her to fix that too. It ended up taking 2 hours to get them to even look decent. Then she charged me $5 for the gel on top. Isn't that supposed to be included in the price of getting your nails done? I asked her to trim my cuticles and she charged me another $5 saying it was a manicure!!! The $30 full set ended up costing $40 and they don't look nice. I am temped to go and get the pink and white covered up with a dark color because they are driving me nuts!! The employees are nice but the end results are way sub par. . . and she is rough with you fingers. I had a little cut on my hand which I asked her to be careful with, when I came out it was all inflamed and sore because she was so rough. I just recently moved to the area and was looking for a decent place to get my nails done. I called to make an appointment and the lady told me that they didn't take reservations. So I ended up just walking in. There was only 1 person there at the time and I was helped immediately. After about 15 minutes a few more people walked in and there ended up being a wait as there were only 2 people working. I have to say though that she was very quick. For a full pink and white set I was in and out within an hour. The price was about what I'm used to. $35 for a full pink and white set with gel, $30 with no gel. read more

I came here limited on time, as an emergency. The staff was friendly. I had a gentleman do my nails, and I should have known better. He took longer than expected, I was late, and I will never return here. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but my nails are cloudy. I got white tips, but the tip looks almost like the acrylic thats supposed to be clear. There was also all this crustiness around the edges of my nails, and they werent filed correctly. I absolutely hated it. \ I am a cosmetologist and can do my own nails, but I like to get pampered myself every once in a while too.. This place took 3 girls in with no appointment and spent an awesome time with us and our nails. I had them do my nails for my wedding and I was super happy with the results. My pedicure literally lasted a month and my acrylics looked totally real. I am docking one star because I did ask the lady that did my acrylics to make them a bit thinner but she did leave it too thick. Oh well. This isn't a fancy place and they do lack some essential must-haves, like a good selection of OPI and other higher end polishes. But what they lack in, they make up in customer service and skill. I opted for their spa pedicure. It was $18 and I thought it was worth every penny. The man who did my pedi was great! focused on perfecting every toe! I loved that he went back to something if it wasn't perfect. He didn't talk much but I think it was because my friend and I were chatting a lot. He gave a great massage with some warm lotion... probably one of the longest massage I've ever gotten during a pedi. $18 for a spa pedicure is affordable by San Diego prices, and this nail salon is pretty good. Like all places, I found it via Yelp a couple years ago when searching for a new nail place. The owners are very sweet and kind, and since I show up for pedicures during mid afternoons while everyone is still at work, I've never had to wait. The shop is clean but their nail tools don't come in those autoclave packaging that shows its been cleaned and new for your use. They don't have much selection as far as color choices compared to other salons, but I'm not a picky person. What I do like most is how meticulous they are with their work. They clean, file, trim with absolute precision. I don't like a rushed job pedicure, so I don't mind sitting in the chair for 45 minutes to get my feet to perfection. The foot scrub isn't my favorite part because I'm ticklish, so the nail tech knew to scrub only the essential parts. I wasn't a big fan of the foot massage however. If I find myself in this area of town, I'd come back! read more

I'm writing this review solely on the customer service. I walked out before I even got a pedicure! I walked in at 4:55pm on a thursday with an appointment for 5pm for my husband and I. 1 girl turned to me and said, "10 minute wait, ok?" I said that's fine! My hubby was a couple minutes late and sat down with me at 5:05. 5:30 rolls around and I couldn't believe i had been waiting that long! I was totally engrossed in an ipad game with hubby. I looked up toward the chairs and the two people that were working on pedicures when i walked in were no longer in the building. UGH! I found Euro Nails through Yelp and I absolutely love them. Definitely not your typical nail salon where you get the vibe that everyone that works there are talking about you. I've been there 3 times so far and will continue to go back. Spa mani/pedi is $25 (extra for French tips--$4 for fingertips, $5 for toes). Full gel sets are $30 (I think) and gel fills are $20, plus extra for French tips. Each time I've been there, Lee took care of me and she's just a really nice friendly woman who does an excellent job! Love my nails! Bring cash as they charge $1 for using a credit card. read more

My friend and I called in and scheduled an appointment just 15 minutes before we were going to show up and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The owner was waiting for us at the door and greeted us as we came in. The salon was pretty simple looking but very clean. I was impressed by their OPI collection. Although the massage chairs are just your typical rollers that move up and down your back, it was nice that Lance had already turned it on before I even sat down. Lance did my French pedi and he did a fantastic job! He listened to my requests and did exactly what I asked. He was extremely gentle with my feet, yet did a great job scrubbing off the dead skin. I'm usually very ticklish and most nail people simple stop scrubbing at my slightest twitch. Lance was careful not to tickle me at all and scrubbed my feet much longer than they do at most places. The hot lotion he used for the foot massage caught me by surprise, but it felt great. Lance gives amazing foot massages and the hot wash clothes he put on my feet afterward were a nice touch. He was very meticulous about painting my toes and they came out exactly how I wanted (keep in mind I'm fairly picky when it comes to salon services!). Although they quoted $18 for a French pedi when we called in, it was $18 for a pedi plus $5 for French. (Hence, the 4 stars.) Also, they charge $1 for debit/credit cards, which I think is a bit ridiculous when you're paying $23 for a pedi. Overall, this place is great and I will definitely come back! read more

I just move to this area and was in need a lil r&r. I came in on a Saturday night around 5:30. Lee did my mani and Truc did my pedi. One of THE best foot massages I've ever received. Truc took her time and massaged the hell out of my aching feet (had been shopping in a pair of uncomfortable sandals for hours, all bad.) Poured warm lotion on my feet and went to work. I agree with Denise - best place for a $25 spa mani/pedi. I will definitely go here again. The location was good for me - on clairemont mesa blvd and easy to get to from the 805 or 163. Parking - not an issue at all Wait - I "walked in" on a saturday at 1:30 and no wait Cleanliness - no issues here, everything seemed very clean Professionalism - i was wearing a skirt and they put a towel over my legs when I was getting a pedicure - I thought this was considerate; no yelling back and forth between the employees in any language either Pedicure (Lance) - Pretty sure he warmed the lotion before the massage. After massage, he, wrapped my feet in hot washcloths. The foot massage was longer than usual which was great. The only thing I would have changed was I think I could slightly feel his nails when he was working on the arch of my foot (hence the 4 stars). Massage chair was comfortable. Water was warm to hot which I like. Manicure (Lee) - same warm lotion and washcloth as above; I liked how she put a pillow on my lap for my right forearm when she was working on that hand (she was to my left while I was sitting in the spa chair) - that was comfortable and considerate. Up sell - Lee asked about a decorative flower once and Lance too. When I said no thanks, they didn't insist. I have no problem when someone asks as long as they don't insist. Payment - i think they prefer cash but they took a credit card without an issue (they do charge $1 to use) Other - no music playing but they had "This Old House" on the TV? I went in to get a full set and explained the shape i wanted. She explained that its 20$ for short and 5$ more if you want long nails. Its a smaller salon and when i went in it was the day after the 4th of july so it was empty and quiet. I am picky with acrylics and feel like im never satisfied with the work anyone does. However, My-Le really took her time working on my nails and double checking with me if the shape and length were perfect. She was amazing. My only complaint is that my pinky nails were too long but im sure i could go back in. However ill probably just file it down myself. Also, i wish she would cut my cuticles so that they looked nore clean. But i know that doesnt really come standard anymore. I explained to her i had a job interview and she even helped suggest a good color that isnt too flashy! She was very nice to talk to and made me actually want to come back. Just got a pedicure done and I think I found my holy grail nail salon (for pedicures at least). Walked in at about 1:30pm and they weren't busy at all. In fact, no one was there. Guess the rush may come after everyone gets off work early for the holiday weekend. They were very welcoming and didn't seem pretentious like at (Un)Happy Nails. The salon was very clean and didn't reek of nail products. They use OPI nail polish! That's a thumbs up in my book. As soon as I went to pick my color and saw the OPI brand name, I knew I was in good hands. The water was warm/hot, perfect in my opinion. Everytime I went to Happy Nails, the water was always initially too hot. They're not really about their decor but I didn't care. All their work stations were simple, not too big and overwhelming. I believe Lance did my pedicure, judging by reading the other reviews on here although I didn't catch his name. He was very nice and I was surprised that he tried to strike up a conversation with me from time to time throughout the pedi. Maybe it's because I'm so used to just fiddling around with my cell phone when I'm at (Un)Happy Nails with a complete lack of conversation other than the usual upsell. Not pushy at all about the upsell. I wasn't looking for some of the time when I was getting my nails polished. The lady who started the water for my pedi got me a pillow for my lap because I was reading some articles for school during my pedi. WOW! I was so pleased by this gesture. :) During the polishing, I barely felt anything. I'm so used to feeling goopy nail polish on my toes but not at Euro Nails. Then I felt something good and looked to see that Lance was using a corrector to clean up any spots of polish. Again, WOW! Very meticulous. He didn't manhandle my toes like I'm used to at (Un)Happy Nails. He was very gentle in everything he did, from trimming down my nails to filing and buffing to polishing. And the massage was great. I really wish I had added more time on. Finally, when I looked to see the job he did, it was perfect! Not goopy at all. He even held the mini-fan for a little bit over my toes to cut the drying time down. He was very funny when he was trying to put my flip flops back on, telling me not to look and to relax so I wouldn't worry about if he would screw up his hard work. I was in and out in less than an hour. Gave a bigger tip than I had before for any pedi I've gotten done. $18 pedicure + $5 tip. Be sure to bring cash if you don't want to pay that extra $1 to use your debit/credit card. read more

WOW some of these reviews are intense! Let me say I'm not a nail person. It's summer time and my hand and feet were looking gnarly. So I jumped on yelp, found this place, and walked in. There were only 2 people there, but I didn't have an appointment, and the wait wasn't too bad. They had a special going on right now for spa pedicures and manicures. Lance and Lee were on spot and I think they did a good job. The only thing that was kind of annoying was that I got a buff on my nails that was $5 extra AND she didn't let me keep the buffer ( which other salons have let me do in the past). read more

I did a mani/pedi here and flowers for the first time in July 2011. The flowers lasted forever! I've here another 2 times since. And I rarely return to the same place to get my nails done. I came here for a quick pedicure while I was in the area, and I was able to get an appointment immediately. Upon walking in, I immediately noticed this is not the typical fancy salon that I feel like is standard for the places I always go to. Regardless, the nail technician spent a lot of of time on, the hot oil massage I received was divine, and while I was unhappy with the insufficient foot scrub, my nails/ feet actually looked pretty good after. It was so relaxing I even fell asleep. Overall, if you're looking for a place to relax and you have +/- 45 mins for a pedicure, this would be a great spot for you. It's technically on the cheaper end for the quality of the the pedicure, but the marginal difference in price is hardly a factor in my review or experience. I love this place! It's in an unassuming strip mall beside a Subway. The nail technicians (Lee, Lance, and one whose name I need to learn) always provide a great mani-pedi. For only $25. (Better to use cash as there's a small fee for using a credit card.) They never rush through the service, even if there's someone waiting. The massage is always nice and long. I wish there were a few more OPI color choices - I think the OPI polish lasts longer than the other brands--but that's not enough to keep me from my every-2-to-3 week appointment. read more

Sure, why not! We were able to walk in w/o an appt, and these guys rocked the nails like a Nascar pit crew. Lance on the toes and Lee on the fingers. In and out in about 35 minutes. They are very good at what they do and for their price it's soooo worth it. fills are $15 and i think the full set is $20? but either way they are so awesome and so friendly! I keep wanting to maybe try other place to compare the services, but Euro Nail is so good at making your nails look so good that i don't want to risk having a bad job then having to go pay for a fix..ya know? The ONLY downside is that there are 3 staff members there, so a big group can't go in, or sometimes there is like a 20 min wait, so make an appointment especially on the weekend. I wish I could give it ZERO stars! I was a walk-in for a pedicure, after reading the Yelp reviews. Only one other customer so they took me right away. PROBLEM: the man cut my toe nails LOPSIDED and when I tried to tell him to correct it he continued to argue with me about how I was wrong! His exact words were," if you turn you toe THIS way it's not lopsided..." WTF?! Are you kidding me?! My toe DOESN'T turn that way so could you please file that one side down? "No" was his reply. This is a very poorly trained salon with low quality work. I highly advise not going there because they don't take responsibility or look to correct their mistakes. I've never seen a nail stylist glue their finger to a client before. I would definitely recommend this place. With a nail shop in every corner, it's hard to find a decent spot. But for $18 for a spa pedicure, who wouldn't want to come here. They are clean and all the employees are friendly. They don't try to haggle you like some of the other nail places. My pedicure came out just perfect. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and after reading all the great reviews for this place, I decided to give them a try! I didn't have an appointment, so the wait was a little long. I was quoted 15 minutes but it was more like 40 minutes. I didn't mind because I had nothing else to do but next time, I will make an appointment. The pedicure was great! On top of that, it was only $18! I also chose this BEAUTIFUL color made by OPI but I couldn't make out the name on the bottle so I'll definitely be back for that! Don't get me wrong, this is a good nail place, but I prefer going to Teena from Professionails. She's my absolute favorite! However, I will be back if Teena is not available and if I'm in need of a last minute pedicure.
