Great hole in the wall nail salon. Very small location but they're reasonably fast with customers. I wanted to get long coffin nails but I was doubtful if they'd be able to do that. Horrible place! Just because you have customers waiting doesn't mean you should rush with the customer you're serving. I went in for a mani and pedi. The lady that did my pedi did it in such a rush. And the lady that did my nails didn't do a good job. Air bubbles on my nails and then nails were not completely filled. I recently discovered this nail shop from a fellow coworker. She always comes to work with the craziest nails out of anyone I know, til finally, I asked her who she went to. She gave me Helen's card at Evon Nails and the rest is history... This place is perfect for my tastes. She can do awesome nail designs, without charging an arm and a leg for them. She blings out my nails when I am in the mood, or tones it down with just a french tip when I'm trying to keep it professional. More than anything, she is a sweetheart. Most ladies I have gone to, act like you are an inconvenience. Since I've made the switch a couple of months ago I haven't gone anywhere else. The neighborhood may not exactly be posh enough for some, but I like it that way. I can run in and grab a Four Loko at the liquor store and get my nails did all in one block. read more

WOW. Been trying to remember the name of this place... I just found their business card. I just had to write a review because the impression this place left on me will last forever. Firstly, I was looking for a nail salon around city heights to take my step-sister for pedicures. Choices were limited. And everywhere we went had nothing that resembled a pedicure station. Finally I consulted trusty Yelp. And there was Brianna S. singing Evon's praises. I called to get confirmation that they did in fact do pedi's. Upon arriving we were received by the warmest gentleman who ushered us in like we were old friends. I was very skeptical as there were again, no pedicure stations. But he spun two mani station chairs facing out and insisted we sit. I was slightly confused till this elderly woman came out carrying a plastic basin full of hot soapy water. Wow. How could I be so spoiled as to assume everyone in the business has comfy chairs that massage away the stress while your feet soak in a jacuzzi tub filled with bubbles? I would enjoy this experience! (I decided optimistically) It was new; and new is exciting. That is until she started cleaning my toe nails... yee-ow! However, in hindsight, I can tell you I have never had such a thorough cleaning, nor have my toes looked prettier. The lovely man's wife Helen came in around that time to do my sister's nails. She was so wonderfully kind. She and her husband were just the sweetest people I have ever met. I told them how I found them, and introduced them to yelp. I read them the only review they have (till now). Helen was so touched and overwhelmed by the idea that she would have never known about yelp had it not been for the divine intervention that lead me there, that she began to cry. Helen and her husband were so In awe of the idea of reviews that they decided to give my sis the works (see photos). They definitely rock their own techniques, but Helen is an artiste! Ask for her if your in. The other woman was also very sweet, but perhaps because she is older, she definitely doesn't always "see" the boundary between your skin and your nail when painting. In any event the kindness and warmth flowing from these people were nothing short of Christ-like. Because of the language barrier, there were a lot of "you're both so nice" responded by "YOU so nice!" exchanges and hugs all around at the end (upon their insistence). Because of the love, I give it 4 stars. But note that you will feel like you have just been transported to a less ornate time, likely a 3rd world country, so according to your own standards the star factor might be quite a bit less. If your from NY like me, you're probably expecting facilities you're more likely to find in Coronado. But if you want true service, these people do not disappoint. They will treat you like family. And that is an experience worth having. read more

Pros: Nice, older lady did my nails. Only $10 for acrylic fill with polish. Down the street from my house. Cons: Long wait due to it being a tiny hole in the wall with only 3 tables. Slow service. Small and cheap polish selection. Pretty sure they don't sanitize their tools. Be careful! I would come here again because of the price and its close proximity to my house, but in the mean time, I'm going to keep an eye open for any infections or lesions that may appear on or around my nail bed. read more

I was next door getting my haircut and when I left I said why not treat myself to some nails. I have a regular tech but I thought there has to be good techs out there so I decided to give it a try. By the whole staff not understanding what I wanted I should've known to leave but I STILL stayed. The girl starts doing my nails (I have been doing my nails for a very long time so I know right off the bat when things are going to start going bad) the nails size were toooo small, she kept hurting me, it took AN HOUR to just apply the acrylic, they were so thick and full of lumps I had tell her she had missed some spots for the acrylic and to file down all the thickness and lumps. I was trying really hard to not get mad and flip out but honestly don't get your nails done here. I'm done taking chances on other nail salons, I will for sure be going with my guy to fix this mess!!! read more

I think this place is fantastic. It's not what one may be used to when going to a nail salon (no massage chairs, small staff) but you definitely get your money's worth. For a full set, design, and pedicure I paid less than I normally would for a pedicure alone at other places. I went today after about a year and a half of not going there and everyone remembered me. Great place!! My story first. I decided to get gel nails at a "posh" salon by my house where I get my hair done, waxing and, had my first massage two weeks ago. My nails were pretty when I left but they started to chip a week in. I had noticed my supervisor's nails at work and she told me about Evon Nails. Her nails were awesome. She told me to ask for Helen. I did :) Helen was so nice and there was NO language barrier. We laughed about how my nails were so small. I keep them short because I can't type with them long. They turned out beautiful. And she took off the old nails, put new ones on, painted them and put a design on for under $30! Like other peeps said it's not a posh place but the service is excellent and they are nice! I am going to call Helen today and get a color change and a pedi..why? Because I can afford it now!
