We took the car someplace else, to have it aligned. We were told that it needed two control arms, and the place I was at didn't do big jobs like that. So, I looked on Yelp. That's where I found this place. He only had 3 reviews, but all positive. Being new to the area, & in a total panic, I took my car here because they could do the work the same, or next day. HUGE, HUGE mistake! They hadn't called by 6pm, so I called the shop & got him on the phone. He, think name was Bill, told me he was done with my repair, but it didn't help the car much because it needed wheel bearings MUCH MORE than control arms. Note, he didn't call to tell me that before doing the work putting the control arms on.. He said he hadn't called me yet, becuz he'd been trying to contact my mom, as it was going on her card, but wait it's MY car. Now I find out I need almost $700.00 more than the $500.00 already shelled out. Oddly, each time I spoke to him, he kept asking if I was voting for Hillary. He said he doesn't "help" liberals. He said over & over that I need to get my "priorities straight", as if he has a clue as to what my priorities are. During this call he's talking to someone in the background, telling them all he's doing is talking to me about my priorities, that certainly wasn't all he was saying to me. Now he REALLY stepped over the line. My bf had taken me up there so he started a new line of questioning, about him, & his character. He asked me why my bf wasn't paying for it. I told him, he's very ill, & can't. He says "Well if it were me, and I were dying, I think I'd get up off my ass to help somebody, but that's just me!" I was shocked. We go to get my car & he acted nicer, a bit. He told me how we're all broke now. Obama is why he's had to file bankruptcy 2 or 3 times (I don't recall). He tells me he doesn't know where I'm from, but here in Texas you need a car. I know that. Why else would I be so utterly devastated, thinking I could not afford to repair mine? Then he started on how I was just going to have to take the train to work, painting a very glum view of my future, though he was well aware that I was very upset already. There's NO excuse for treating another person the way he did me, let alone a customer. Never did he answer my questions about what to expect on the car, or just how urgent this was. He bellowed his way around all of that. He REFUSED to explain why he did one repair, that per him, was less important yet in the same price range, without first consulting me. He proceeds to tell me that he'd done me the unauthorized "favor" of moving my tires from the back to the front, but when I pointed out that I was aware one of the wheels was messed up from a prior accident, he quickly said that he'd only switched the one, because of that. In short, I believe that he lied, & thought it went over my dizzy, female head. He continued going off about how I need to get my life together, so I can bring the car back to him for the rest of the repairs it needs. The whole time, I'm thinking, not on your life, buddy. I was beyond astounded. He clearly cannot read people, or does not pay attention, becuz he began acting like we were just fine, & he honestly expected my repeat business. He even laid out a game plan. All the while, I just wanted the hell away from him. I get my car back & one of the tires he moved needed air on the way home. Filled it up. Next day, it was flat again. This is new since my visit, new since his "favor". When I left, I was in an absolute frenzy, feeling so low. He was correct that the car needs a lot of maintenance, but it's not becuz I have bad priorities, it's because I'm broke & adding insult to injury didn't help. I did, however, secure an upfront payment on a big job (which I'm sure he'd likely take credit for) from an existing client to cover the cost of the almost $700.00 in repairs he said I need. I also, looked around and found a mechanic who'll do the job, parts and all for less than half of what he planned to charge. The new guy said he's had cars come from this shop before where people have been told that they needed much more expensive repairs than they actually did, and that they were known to overcharge as well as do unnecessary repairs. He won't have done the work until tomorrow, so forgive me that I'm still a bit gun shy, about trusting a mechanic. We shall see. I'll update Just in case anyone cares, I'm not thrilled with either candidate or political party. I am, however, thrilled that my dollars are votes, & not only can I never "vote" for this guy again, I can share my experience with you, & you can judge if you'd like to be treated the same way that I was. It may sound unreal. It certainly felt surreal, but it happened. He was that obnoxious & mean-spirited. Doubt you'd even have to ask if I'd ever go back. *UPDATE! He LIED, as expected! Bill and the guys run a quality, honest shop. Open till 8pm, 6 fans a week they can accommodate emergencies. I have had numerous work trucks maintained by Bill at sunrise. He does what's necessary to keep the vehicles moving without wanting to replace everything and the kitchen sink. read more

Firstly, I must say I have been going to SunRise Auto since I was 16 so I am a loyal customer. They have done great work with my vehicles. They are the first shop I think of and I've gone out of my way to get my vehicle to them. Bill has been honest with me about repairs and he may seem pricey but he gets quality parts and great mechanics. Secondly, after reading the negative reviews from the women, I must say that I can see how Bill could rub you the wrong way. He says what he wants to whomever is in His shop. He's not a sensitive guy, he's blunt. However, he is caring! For instance, I wrecked one of my vehicles while I was going through my divorce which had me living with family, no job, and a three year old to take care of. Bill loaned me a vehicle free of charge while mine was being fixed. That vehicle was a Godsend at that rough time being that it was what got me and my child around and also got me to my interview which landed me back into my career. Short back story, I am a U.S. Marine who has just gotten out of the military and my car delivered to Arlington, Texas after being in military storage for the last five years while I was in Japan. After picking up the car and making it a few blocks away from the pick up site I started noticing a lot of smoke coming into the car from underneath. I pulled up the map on my iPhone and searched for a repair shop which brought me right to Sun Rise Automotive. I caught them during the end of their lunch break and was lucky enough to meet the owner Bill. After explaining my situation and what was happening, Bill put my car on the lift, fixed my problem and checked the air in my tires before I headed back down to Houston. When I asked him how much I owed him he wouldn't accept my money. While I wouldn't expect anyone to go there thinking you will get free service, do know that you are getting quality work done by an ethical shop. If I could rate this place 0 stars I totally would . First off, don't come here . Very unprofessional don't trust this place . They will keep telling you that your will be fixed a certain day , then change it to the next. Then after the next day three more days pass by . Bill claims he will give you a call on your car updates , NEVER once did I receive a phone call letting me know what was wrong with my car. Never gave me a Full diagnosis . Then he gives you a "SET" price which is just a lie!! He did never once update me with what was wrong with my car and I had to CONSTANTLY had to call him. I paid him 800 because that's what we agreed upon. Control arm, strut , wheel, and my alignment. Second part after I had to call him he said that my back wheel needed to be replaced as well. We agreed on payment plans "which he never does..." he NEVER even completed what was the 800.. because of the back wheel... he couldn't do the alignment due to that. Buys the wheel . Wrong one . At this point I've been 4 days UNDERQUOTED . Look buddy , I know you cannot do an alignment on a donut ;which is what they put on my car because I was promised by THURSDAY my car would be done and I told him it was inconvenient on my part because I needed my car for work! So, at this point I cannot do anything . I had to take my car to work on the donut and take it back FRIDAY so that he could put the back wheel and do the Alignment! So, I'm with tiny which is a really nice guy but I was promised 10-15 minutes so the tire would be put on . I get there at 6:45 tire is not put on till 7:24 successfully . Then they start closing shop at that time and I'm standing there in confusion as to Why they promised me yet again that it would be complete that day and still NOT COMPLETE.. so I leave my car Friday for Saturday ! FINALLY get a phone call from BILL indicating my car is ready . Having no transportation to get there My Father comes with me because what father would want to have their daughter uber with a stranger ? Then I could tell he gets flustered by the fact my dad is with me . Then he gets flustered by the fact that I see the pricing unfair due to his unprofessionalism in regards to notifying the customer of what goes on .. like I did not have money to invest in all of this! He could have consulted me and I would have agreed . So , Saturday ..Today.. I take my car and test drive it and my air tire pressure light is on which I told him about yesterday and his son checked it out and claimed was okay . Get in my car and I'm still driving in it with the hopes it would go away ! Call him up and let him know what's going on because my car was making a funky noise that sounded like something was loose and my light still showing up. We had agreed on 1419 for everything and we were going to do payment plans . After that phone call he was so adamant that I was not going to pay and that I was ripping him off just because my dad was there with me!! Never ONCE did my Father say anything to this man, hell he can't even speak English ! Then he gets mad because I took my father with him and all! Like well then , You were ripping me off then for you to get so mad about that over the phone when I told him I had no ride to the shop, because I HAD NO MONEY!! Also, He kept on saying that he would no longer service me because of that... when I expressed that the light concerned me and the noise my car made. Rip off .. I refuse to be in debt and I told him that but he claimed that he would no longer do business with me because I'd Rip him off!! My PARENTS did not raise me like that! I gave him my address and two numbers to be reached at ! Like , if you knew I was budgeting why couldn't you consult me in the first place , given me calls on updates . Stop lying to your customers then he claimed he did not want to do a diagnosis because there are various things that need to be done !! Get this. Most mechanics ask if you have the money then will work on the car . If there is anything else that needs to be done, They LET YOU KNOW! because they want THEIR money. I know being a mechanic is hard work! I've done work myself ! But don't lie straight to my face ! By the way, I had to take my car Thursday to work with that donut letting him know I had to drive from Arlington to Carrollton and I did not feel safe driving it all the way there and back with miles to go on the road. If he trusted me so much to do that and take it back , then why even do business with me... Think twice , I thought all those 4/5 stars were there for a reason and you see they're mostly guys. As a woman he will take advantage of that! If you must go.... go with a man that knows his stuff. Personally , I FEEL RIPPED OFF! Shit ,I could have put all that work myself and fixed my car myself !
