Very quant little breakfast spot at the bottom of an apartment complex. Parking can be a little difficult due to the location. I really enjoyed the Greek omelette which was packed with olives (YUM!!!!). I had a mimosa as well that was well made. Nice place to grab a bite. read more

Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday while traveling back home from Charlotte. As expected, there was a bit of a wait but we were fine hanging out. When we were called to be sat, our group and two other groups were all taken in. We were the first in line to be sat but the other groups were sat before us. Then, when it was our turn, a table wasn't ready so we had to wait a while longer. Not a major issue, but irksome. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits Eggs Benedict. It was clear that it had been sitting under a heat lamp because the hollandaise was dried on the plate and the eggs were totally overcooked. No runny inside to help with the dried-out grits cake. The iced chai latte I got from the little attached coffee stand was good. I think the other folks in my party liked what they got. We stayed at a hotel across the street and saw that this place was walking distance for us. We first came in on Friday morning and liked it so much that we came back the next morning to eat again! The first morning, I got the corned beef hash. It was pretty good and the portion was big! My husband got the eggs Benedict. The next day, he got the traditional breakfast which was huge! I got the croque monsieur. I loved the flavor of my meal but it was very heavy. On Friday morning, there was no wait and we were able to walk right in. I sat at the bar area and had a Raspberry Mocha Latte which was FABULOUS! I had the corn beef and eggs and it was also good. It was had shredded potatoes with small diced onions and peppers with the corn beef. My only suggestion is ask for it extra crispy as the potatoes were very white along with no crustiness on the corn beef. I had they rye toast which was AMAZING! They definitely must get it from a local bakery as it was thick cut and very fresh and delicious! Service was very quick as I did go on a Tuesday around 11am so they weren't that busy. read more

Came to eat here one morning because it is close to my mother's house and I have been plenty of times before. Our server was pretty rude. She barely smiles and talked with an attitude, maybe another table put her in a bad mood but it reflected very strong toward us. I always order the build your own omelet with the same ingredients, spinach, bacon, onion and green pepper but this time it was overwhelmingly disappointing. I think there were a couple of pieces of bacon, barely any spinach and tasted like scrambled eggs with a pinch of the ingredients. My previous visits they put enough ingredients in that you can taste them from edge to edge of the omelet (very good and healthy amount). I'm not sure if they are saving money or just ran out of ingredients from that morning but I wished there was more. Fruit was wonderful and fresh! I kinda wish it was warmed up though bc dipping the hot doughnut in the cold glaze didn't complement it very well. The food was okay - the pancakes were a bit chewy. Ticked back as part of a new development this place is warm and friendly. Lots of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Coffee is served with FRESH cream....really. I was very impressed. The classic breakfast was great. 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, hash browns extra crispy (but only on one side), 2 slices of toast (Apple Butter yeh haven't had that in years) Ashlee our sever was very efficient, upbeat and friendly. I don't know why people complain about the stupidest things when they review here. This place is some good breakfast. My husband came in for brunch and were quite satisfied with their food. Service was great, food was delicious. Variety or omelette which my husband loves and I was so excited to try their captain crunch French toast. Super crunchy, not soggy at all. We definitely plan on coming back to try more. There's also a little bakery you can take stuff to go from. So glad we found something close to us since there's never any good brunch in statesville, and only few options in mooresville. Definitely a must try. Oh and as for people complaining about the names of stuff on the menu-it can be misleading, but just ASK what's in what you're ordering. Yes they have menus that are laminated and can easily be wiped (big deal with this COVID stuff). Better than killing the planet with disposable menus. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Sun Up numerous times. When we first started going, we were very impressed. Their breakfasts were amazing! I love eggs benedict and theirs were to die for, but lately every time we've gone, the food was only okay and the eggs benedict were mediocre at best. The hollandaise sauce was cold and practically curdled and the hash browns tasted like they'd been reheated. The food quality is definitely going downhill and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Servers are not very friendly and smiles are hard to come by. Also, we noticed that not one single server had their hair tied back or in a hair net or anything. One of guys had hair down below his shoulders. It was not pulled back and it was swinging back and forth over the food he served. The women used to have their hair in ponytails, but not anymore. It was a total turn off and I don't think we'll be going back there. It's really too bad because it was nice to have a decent place to eat without having to go clear across town to where the "pretty people" live. read more

We had a Western Omelet with fried potatoes (potatoes) and the Corned Beef Hash with two over-medium eggs. My husband said his omelet was just okay. I ordered the other dish, and I thought the hash had an unusual flavor and using hash browns instead of potato cubes was a little off-putting. The menu stated that the hash was cooked crusty; it was partially crusty, and the eggs were over-well. The chef here and I, along with other restaurant chefs where I've dared to have my eggs my favorite way, have differing opinions upon what over-medium means, i.e. white set, yolk runny. The accompanying biscuit, however, was quite yummy! A couple of other things: the ambience and environment are quite inviting, and the coffee shop within the cafe looks great. Pretty good but not the best brunch. We are visiting the area. We came around before 11am told, had to wait for someone to come to the hostess stand cause they were super busy and you could see folks running food, cleaning tables etc. They wrote our name and said about a 30 minute, cool. They have a cafe so I got a vanilla latte, good but the cup smelled weird (like a cleaning agent). They some good looking desserts. Waited and we heard the the guy called Madeline.....I was like did he mean Medina, my last name. We saw someone who came after us get called and ask about us, and be hold, Madline was Medina. Dude wrote out name down, said it outloud but still mispronounced. We got sat pretty quickly after that was figured out. Service is a bit slow but I'm thinking they don't have enough staff. Got mimosas, good. Whoever made them def put a good amount of prosecco in there! Bf ordered chicken and waffles. Which was good. The chicken tasted like the Italian breading you get at the door but still good. He didn't like the syrup that comes with the waffle but he's also picky and you get stranwyerry butter as well. I got the traditional breakfast which is two eggs, a meat, potatoes, grits or fruit and then toast or pancake.. I just got the eggs, ham and fruit. The ham was excellent and fruit. The eggs were just ok. A friend of mine order tomatoes and avocado, their avocado aren't fresh they either get them in frozen or get them then freeze them. The taste is awful. Service was ok. Triple D Effect There is a term amoung foodies called the triple D effect. What it means is that otherwise good restaurants get a bunch of publicity, business is swamped, service goes to pot and you go from there. This is one of those cases. My wife and I were one of their first patorns when they opened. I was on another review site at the time and gave them a very good review. We've been several time since and the crowds have increased but the level of service and qualtiy of food has decreased to the point where in all good conciousness, can no loger given them more that than a minimal rating. Last time we went, even the server indicated that she was poised to write a negative review based on the fact that too few, were trying to do too much. A mark of poor mangement.
