I have had three experiences with this place in the past year. All three have been fantastic. First, they helped me find a CD player that would fit my car and my budget. Although their prices were competitive, I opted to purchase the device online and try to install it myself. This was not the right decision, as my car then had problems. I came back to these guys and had them fix all the mistakes that I made. They were quick and extremely helpful. They showed me everything I did wrong and how they improved it. Best yet, everything worked perfectly! Fast forward a year. My stereo suddenly stopped working. I scheduled an appointment for them to take a look at it, and they fixed it within 20 minutes. When I asked how much it would cost, they told me not to worry about it. You have got to love excellent customer service. Overall, every experience I have had with Sun Valley Stereo has been positive. They have always been helpful and their prices are great. Amazing service and great prices. Ryan agreed to fix bad wiring from a previous installation in my Benz. After looking at the car and listening to me, he suggest that he start by fixing only the obviously bad parts so I could decide if that was enough. He offered, if that didn't resolve my concerns, to further examine and repair the whole system. He charged far less than I thought and did a great job on the work. I was in and out quickly, and the waiting room was comfy enough for a couple of hours. Even better, I asked Ryan's opinion on my alarm system. Instead of going for a quick sale he said 'Its fine, I wouldnt change it.' To me that's a huge deal, he didn't even attempt to take advantage. Sure I may eventually upgrade the alarm to get cool new features, but not being pressured or lied to means that it'll be Ryan that I come to. If I could give this place six stars, I would. Sun Valley installed a CarPlay unit and a radar detector direct wire in my car and did a great job. The install was perfect and they hid all the wires from being exposed. I've had many people thinking my car came factory with the CarPlay unit but I let them know that Sun Valley had installed it and it couldn't be better. I ended up coming back here because I was concerned that one of the front speakers had bass distortion for the entire day that I was driving my vehicle. The next day it seemed to have fixed itself however I was still concerned that it happened so I had Ryan check to see what the issue could be. They were not sure what could have caused it but they still managed to exceed my expectations in which they truly went above and beyond by replacing the speaker at no extra charge. It could have just been a manufacturer's defect with the actual speaker. Since my initial review I did go back one more time a few weeks later to install a new stereo system as well to replace my old one. It's such a great improvement and now the sound system is sounding better than ever! I purchased a Clifford Remote Start from here 9 months ago.....Recently I noticed the Fab going thru batteries pretty quickly..Today walked into a Battery Plus to have the issue checked out and they determined that the Fab was the issue...I called Sun Valley Stereo from Battery Plus and had them explain the issue to Devin at Sun Valley....Devin was quick to say to come in and he would replace the Fab...30 minutes later arrived at Sun Valley and Ryan who runs the business was behind the counter ( bought the remote start from him) ...He went to see if he had a Clifford Fab in his store....After finding one he went out to my car , programmed the new Fab and I as out of there in 10 minutes.....Outstanding Service !!! Came here to have a head unit installed that I had previously purchased online. These guys did a great job on the installation! The unit looks clean in my car, and they did and excellent job on the microphone installation up next to the mirror. I didn't even notice it was there until 30 minutes after I left. Today was the 2nd time I've purchased something from them. I had a car alarm installed a few years ago and it worked well. A couple years later I bought another car and asked them if they would move it to the "new" car. They did and for what I'd consider a fair price. I was happy with them and returned today to have another alarm installed in my newest car. I came in a week or so in advance and talked to Ryan. I mentioned I wasn't buying that day and he was helpful and didn't pressure me in any way. The alarm was installed today. Again, nice work and a simple transaction. I also mentioned that the siren on my former car (not sold yet) isn't working. My system was acting quite funny so I took my ride here to have it checked out. After my experience here, I won't go anywhere else for my car audio needs. In fact, I just recommended this place to a friend looking for a new deck installation. Sun Valley quickly identified and fixed the problem. It turns out that my amps were grounded using duct tape (yup...you read that right...thanks Best Buy). And when I got a new deck a couple of years ago, the guys at Audio Express told me that my EQ didn't "like" the deck. I should have called them on it but was just happy to have tunes again. I asked Sun Valley to check if that was the case. Guess what? The EQ worked and now I can fine-tune my listening experience. There was no up-selling whatsoever and I left a very happy camper. Ryan answered all my questions and instead of selling me on a product I asked him about, he told me a less expensive way to get what I wanted. Now this place looks real ghetto from the outside but do not let looks fool you. This place does quality work at a good price. They even do internet matching. I was excited to do business with SVS given all the great reviews. My first visit went just as expected. I brought my truck in because I was having problems with the tuner and not able to get radio stations. When I explained this to Devin the manager, he provided the outstanding customer service I'd read about. We walked to my truck and discussed the problem while he tried to better understand it. He scheduled an appointment for me for the following day for them to take it in and get a better look at it. Unfortunately the appointment was where they lost my business. When I pulled in I was greeted with glares by the guys in the garage and no sign of Devin. Instead the fellow that rudely took my keys and sped my truck around back didn't have an ounce of customer service in his being. I have a security lock on the ignition and when I attempted to explain how to start the truck while handing over the keys, I was left as he sped out of the door without a care for the words coming out of my mouth. After not being told whether my car was being looked at or not, he peeked back into the shop to make sure they weren't the ones who sold or installed the system before saying my situation was "weird" and disappearing again. With no idea of what's going on with my truck and 20 mins of sitting in the waiting area, the same man walks through the doors and says "well it's toast, I can't fix it but I can sell you a new one". As this was the first update and that's all the information I was given. I naturally asked what was wrong with it. His reply was "I don't know." Having to pry useless information out of this man, the most he said was that all he can do is test the wiring feeding the system and since all that was working fine, it's the dock that must be malfunctioning. He proceeded to walk me over to the display wall and try to sell me new systems which is when I had had enough and asked for my keys to leave. This was the worse service I have ever experienced and not what I was expecting from a place with so many great reviews. Their selection is great and prices are affordable if you're looking for a completely new install. Don't visit if you're liking to fix a problem because they will put very little effort into actually finding out what's wrong. And if you do decide to give this place a visit. INSIST ON TALKING TO DEVIN. He is what all of these rave reviews are all about. None of his supporting staff will be nearly as genuine or helpful. Another reason this left such a sour taste in my mouth was when I did get my truck back, everything was tampered with. All of my seat adjustments were tampered with, my mirror was tilted, and items that I had carefully placed in my middle storage were moved which they had no business being in. Took care of a problem with my truck security system. I only have owned this used truck for 9 months and it developed a problem after the excessive heat during the past record breaking heat in this area. I was recommended by Voxx International to give them a call and I am certainly glad I did. Another car security company recommended that I just replace the whole system when it was just a problem with the security systems wiring harness. I made the appointment and they were promptly on it and in the time frame they said so. I appreciate that type of customer service especially being as busy as this place is. I didn't have to cough up 400.00 to 750.00 like some other places wanted me to pay for a simple fix for my truck. I was told over the phone by them that I should bring it by and let them take a look at it.
