I needed work done on my truck and called on a whim. It was after 2pm on Friday before Christmas, and I thought the guy will tell me no. He took my name and was able to install a stereo, new speakers, and a decent alarm system for a good price. No gimmicks, no pressure! The techs did a good job, didn't leave pieces of wire insulation in the cab, and DIDN'T break anything. As a matter of fact, they FIXED a button on the dash! That's what I call good work. I brought my 1991 Honda Hatch here and they fixed the alarm connections to the hatch for free - work which was done by another shop, but the owner/manager insisted it would be their pleasure to help. I will give them my business again, and I plan on referring my friends, as well. These guys were prompt, professional, and were able to work within my budget without cutting corners or breaking the bank. I decided I wanted to upgrade my stock stereo I knew that I didn't want to go to one of the big box stores or the home of the $1 install did some checking and based on the Yelp review I picked Sun Valley Stereo. Went down on a Saturday and talked to Ryan he didn't have then particular model I wanted in stock but would check with his distributors and call me on Monday and on Monday to my surprise he called me back, can't count the number of place that never call back, while his distributors didn't have that model they did have a newer version, so I went with the new model Showed up on the install date went over the detail to make sure my XM radio, OnStar and steering wheel controls would still work. The install was quick, looks great and sounds way better. I do have to buy a couple of Apple cords for the iPhone app mode, but once I get them Ryan would take care of the install. Great service, good price point, I plan on going back for some new speakers, anything stereo or alarm related they will be the first place I'll go. read more

I had a car stereo and key less entry installed for my truck. The quality of the both the equipment and work was excellent and customer service seems to be point of emphasis for them. To that end I left my new key fob in my pockets where it went through the wash. No surprise....it no longer worked. Swung by the shop and the owner replaced the key for free on the spot. Typically a great place to get your car stereo installed. The technicians who do the installs are great.and very friendly which is why I chose to come here over best buy because a I didn't want the big corporation feel. My first two car audio installs were great no issues at all with head unit, amp, and sub. My last one for my gf's car her power windows stopped working after head unit deck installation. When she took car back in they attempted to belittle her and stated they did not even do the install. They did however resolve issue. Overall great place I guess in my case unless something goes wrong. 3 stars because I had no issues other than with guy at front desk. I have not been back since. read more

You know a stereo shop is good if other stereo shops tell you to go there. I wanted to get a custom box built for my shallow subs, tried a shop in Tempe and they told me "Go to Sun Valley". I stopped by at 12:30 pm with the subs and the owner's manual, and Frank took the time to make sure he got the details right (final impedance, type of carpet, number of terminal cups, etc.). The installer texted me a few sketches of the box within an hour so I could approve the design, and had the box DONE by 4:30 pm the same day! Not only was the box perfect, the sound was AMAZING! The price was outstanding for a custom box, I couldn't be happier, and I have a new local shop for all my car stereo needs. Do not settle for anything less, this shop is the real deal. read more

Before finding Sun Valley Stereo, I had made an in-person trip to Audio Express (closely located). I was quoted about $260 - since I was in need of both front and rear speakers on their examination. I recently purchased a 2020 Kia Optima SLX and was very unhappy with the head unit and the way it operated. A lot had changed since putting 65k+ miles on my 2012 Sonata in that these cars and the audio are tied into so many other digital components that it is not as easy as it used to be to gut the receiver and start going to town on the upgrades. I chose Sun Valley Stereo to work with because of their longstanding reputation in the Valley and experience working with an assortment of newer vehicles. Devin and especially Ryan were both a pleasure to work with. Due to my work hours and schedule, most of our communication was via email which I know is tedious and not as direct. They were both very patient and responsive through a long process of vetting potential head units and amplifiers until I landed on something I was happy with. At the end of the day, there was no guarantee I would even get the work done even though there was no question I had chosen them for the job. Despite this, they treated me as if I were a longstanding customer regardless which I appreciated. Their team did great work with the install itself, making it look fully integrated into the framework of the interior. Other than losing visuals on my thermostat components and a couple of annoying safety alerts I am grateful to have lost anyway, all other operations with the new unit were seamlessly baked into the vehicle. With their installs having a lifetime guarantee, there really was no other choice to have assisted me and performed this work. At some point I will probably circle back for some speaker upgrades as well. Purchased a new stereo from them on November 10, 2018. Overall, the service and price were magnificent. The installation only took about 30-45 minutes. If you buy a stereo from them, it will only cost the radio+tax and no labor. Cheaper and better service than Status Auto Gallery which charges radio+labor+tax. Worth the drive and I spent $120 ($130.32 incl. tax) for a UTE-73BT Alpine radio which retails at $99 (107 incl. tax) which is not a bad deal. read more

These guys are the best of the best. Their custom work is truly amazing. They installed the latest Pioneer 5100 NEX in my 2003 Mercedes SL500. There were no acceptable installation kits available so they had to hand make the mounting hardware and bezel plate for my car. I had some initial concerns about how it would turn out because I'm very particular and the stereo "head unit" is the centerpiece of the dashboard. When I went to pick up the car, I was blown away by how good it looked and what a great job they did. It looks like a factory installation. My car now has the most modern technology available in stereo equipment including satellite radio, DVD, CD, Blue Tooth, Apple Car Play, touch screen, Navigation and best of all, sending and receiving texts by voice.... hands free. What a fantastic experience. I was in town buying a vehicle when I decided I wanted to get an iPod cable installed. After finding this place on Yelp I stopped by to get an estimate. Ryan researched my vehicle and told me that due to its age the cable wasn't possible, however because head units have come down in price so much in the last few years I could get a killer unit for a decent price. I ended up with a great Alpine head unit with Bluetooth/USB support and a speaker phone for a very reasonable price. What's more, after learning that I was only going to be in town for one day, Ryan was able to schedule me in to their already packed schedule and even stayed late so they could finish their work on my car that day. I wanted to upgrade my factory head unit by adding aftermarket speakers and an amp... Ryan was very helpful and made recommendations based on my budget... Made an appointment and took the car in... The folks at the desk picked up the speakers and amp that was going to be installed, gave me a little more info to be sure where we were going and by the time I turned around my car was back in the bay... After killing a couple hours (short of the time they told me it would take...) I strolled back in and John approached me and told me there had been some kind of manufacturer's defect that he had never seen before and explained the options I had to address the situation. John said he assumed all responsibility for the problem and would absorb any cost to make things right. To sum it up... the folks at Sun Valley acknowledged there was a problem, (and ultimately they could have rigged it so I would never have known there was a problem) made it a priority, and took care of it in a satisfactory and very timely manner. I recently got a Nissan r33 skyline and I am so afraid of people touching or working on my car and breaking something and being in built in Japan I'm scared but when I walked into sun valley I was amazed by the choices from stereos to subs to amps to speakers they have everything in mind. They even got dvd and TVs for bigger cars anyway, the staff there are amazing. I walked in and was shown by Ryan if I remember (if not sorry) he showed me around and told me what I needed to know about systems, not knowing anything going in he showed me the decent priced stereos and speakers. After telling him money wasn't a problem he then proceeded to show me the best he had in the shop and I was amazed by the selection and wasn't quoted outrageous prices for being a young customer like some shops do. He quoted me a price that was firm till the end and no jokes where made. It took only 5 hours to install everything and I got a whole package deal from stereo, speaker, amp, subs, and alarm system and it works very well I am amazed by the work here.
