This review is actually for Westwind Dental, the company that took over ownership of this Suncoast location: Should preface this by saying I have been a regular patient here for almost, if not over, 10 years. I had an appointment in April 2023, but reportedly a new company bought SunCoast back in January. By my math, that's 3-4 months they had to notifiy me that my appointment was just completely deleted...cancelled. The only reason for this harsh review is that this is not the first time this has happened to me, and the old owners vs. new owners discussion is irrelevant to me. I show up at 7am on a Friday, which the prior management SunCoast did accomodate, for a routine hygeine appointment. I waited until they finally opened at 8am to a lady who remarked, "You've been out here waiting a while". Yeah, no shit. Please note that this lady saw me from her car, waiting for the final 20+ minutes of the hour I had actually been waiting. Supposedly, this new management only does hygeine appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays (which my Friday appointment did not fit, I guess.....hence why my appointment disappeared). I ask about my wife and son's appointments, scheduled for an upcoming Monday (not a Tuesday or Thursday). Both of their appointments were moved to the next day...Tuesday. Once again, no phone call or text or email.....or consistency.....they move theirs and cancel mine. I guess it's finally time to switch dentists. read more

These guys started out great. Told them I had only $5,000 from insurance and had to do the balance next year. They told me everything was approved and began with 1 drown 2 fillings (which I was unaware of) and a deep cleaning. Went back 2 weeks later for the crown to be permanently put in and started the next crown. Went back after 2 weeks and put the new crown in. Then they started on the 3rd crown and deep cleaning. They put the temp crown in (crappy job, broke first day and fell out) The office manager told me as I was checking out that I owe $421.00. I told her that the agreement was NOT to go over the $5,000 and they did. They did work they were not authorized to do and will not finish the crown. Was told I have to pay and they will not see me until it is completely paid. I will NEVER and nor will I EVER suggest anyone to go there. They are liars and cheats and thiefs. read more

I came here in 2008 and it was absolutely the worst experience at a dentist I've ever had. They were more interested in trying to "mine my mouth" (maximize their revenue) than doing good dental work. They talked me in to replacing 3 caps and took only the impressions for the teeth after they removed my previous caps. According to the dentist he "didn't need them". The result was ill fitting caps that were much larger than the original caps they replaced. My wife went here too. She has near perfect teeth and they "found" work that would have us up to our deductible. I talked to my insurance company about the apparent "mine that mouth" philosophy. I see good reviews on here (though not many given how long they've been in business). Be very very careful with this company. read more

So I've been putting off getting dental work done for 10+ years and knew I needed teeth extracted. The pain was getting to be too much. I went to their other location who was also amazing. They recommended me to this location and the female dentist and assist I had were the BEST I've ever had. They made sure I was numb the whole time during the extraction and would quickly add more numbing if I felt it. They were very general and caring and didn't even mention how bad of shape my teeth were in. Very happy they are getting me on the right path to get a new smile!! 9 teeth extracted in less then 45 minutes! Love u all thank you! read more

The dentist and hygienist are all very friendly and good at what they do. The business is straightforward with pricing and procedures. Beside manner is five stars! Only reason for four stars is when you make an appointment the call three or four times and have you confirm again and again. I work most days so I can't get to my personal phone. Unlike Cg's review, my entire family uses Suncoast Dental and we first went there about 18 months ago. All 3 of us had Dr. Steven T Nguyen and we found him to be a very compassionate and understanding dentist. We started going there because of their extended hours and being open on Saturdays. Now, their hours have been reduced and once or twice, they were closed during the week (and it wasn't a holiday). While they do take walk-ins, an appointment works much better. However, Dr. Nguyen left, there's a revolving door for the staff. While everyone that I have met there is nice, they have gone through 2 dentists that I know of (I go the same day every time) and the desk staff, hygienists and assistants have changed several times since. Since they don't wear name tags, it's difficult to remember names of people you see only every 6 months. My biggest issue with them is that every time one of us goes there, they always find something that needs to be done. And, that usually ends up costing me from a couple of hundred to several thousands of dollars. I think it's best to stick with a Independent office. read more

I've had severe tooth pain the last few days after a recent crown I received in California. Staff at Suncoast was courteous, understanding and able to squeeze me same day, which meant a lot because I was in so much pain. Dr. Perna gave me a thorough exam and explained my problem areas in great detail. He recognized my situation was complex, and rather than attempting to get in there and start digging around to make money, he recommended I be referred to an endodontic specialist. He prescribed medication to treat the budding infection at my root and calm my nerve pain in the interim. His demeanor was straightforward, and although none of it was good news, I appreciated his honesty and willingness to help within his abilities. I will absolutely come back here for care! read more

ATTENTION!!! I went on yelp and Google to view their rating and I figured because they had great comments I should give them a try. So I went in to get my teeth whitened, it was the worst experience I've had! My lips and gums were burned by that gel they use . It lasted almost three days. I called back to see what they could do to help me or even offer a refund and all I got was to apply vitamin e and hope the swelling goes down, well it didn't . Don't go to Suncoast Dental, any of them. They have floating dentists that do shoddy work and perform unnecessary procedures, then when you have to go back in repeatedly in an attempt to get relief from the pain that they caused, they just shrug and say "Well I wasn't the dentist that you saw" I went in with no pain and a chipped filling. I was told that I had to get a crown because my filling wasn't done with them and the dentist was unfamiliar with the technology that was used to create my original filling. After 5 visits, I have had constant pain for over a month and am now being told I have to see an endodontist for a root canal for a problem that a suncoast traveling dentist created. So I went from no pain and a chipped filling to a root canal for constant pain because of the work that was unnecessarily performed. read more

I received excellent care from Dr. Greenberg and Suncoast Dental Clinic! The receptionist was extremely warm and welcoming. Dr. Greenberg has a great bedside manner and fully explained results of his exam and tests. His assistants and hygienist was also very friendly. Have been going to this dental group for about five years. I can say that they are a really amazing group of people. They have always taken great care of me and work to ensure the experience is wonderful and amazing. My hygienist Lindsy my all time favorite is wonderful she talks and chats makes sure I'm comfortable and at ease. They have taken great strides to ensure my oral health and work with me on scheduling and ultimate care. Me and my family have been using Suncoast Dental for over 5 years, in Sep of 2020 I received 3 crowns. On 11 Feb. 2021 the crown broke off at the base of my gum, I went to their office to see what they would do they told me that I'm not a patient any longer which is correct because I move to another dentist in Nov. 2020 after I had an extraction on a wisdom tooth that would not stop bleeding, so I call their office the same day the extraction was done (Friday) and they told me that they can't see until Monday. I went to a fantastic dentist that same day to stop the bleeding. Today, 15 Feb. 2021 I went there to discuss the broken crown and they told me to GET OUT of their office, I stood my ground because I wanted some answers. They called 911 to have me arrested. I have notified my insurance company, and will file a grievance with the ADA. I HIGHLY recommend that NO ONE should use this dentist office. The Suncoast dental only see's $$$ signs not a human being when you walk through their doors!!! read more

I've been going here since I moved to Arizona 4 years ago, and it's the best! The dentists change because they have two different locations so they switch , but I've always liked whoever I saw , especially Dr. Bob!!!! What makes this place better than other dental places (aside from being open on Saturdays) is the receptionist, Jen!!! She is the reason I go to Suncoast Dental! Again, the dentists change from time to time , but Jen is always there! She knows the answer to any question you might have and truly cares about every person that's a patient here! No matter how long it's been since your last appointment, she always remembers you! She's also the nicest and most upbeat person you'll ever meet! I would like to add a review after reading some of the reviews on here which is current! I dont know what happened before. All I know is this. I know that a new dentist is there now, his name is Dr. Bob. and there is a new office manager there named Jen. in fact the whole "crew" is new and what a TEAM. i needed some desperate help . I didnt have much money, I had insurace but it doesnt cover much. I was in alot of pain and that right there what Dr Bob did to get me out of pain was a blessing! It allowed me to function, to go to work etc. He stayed later on a saturday, it was busy sure and I waited maybe about 10 mins but Jen told me that and ok they got me in and right away and told me not only the obvious but came up with a plan to get me back in shape. I needed teeth extracted and a partial made. What I liked about Dr Bob is that he treated me like I am his mother he did not treat me any different better or worse, but as a human being and he was honest about what I needed, what it was going to cost and what to expect..Straight forward and to the point. Jen made it affordable and worked with me. Fast forward now, I got the partial and on that day, Dr Bob didnt like what the lab gave him, he fixed it with no questions, no extra cost and you know THAT is what I admired about him... he didnt just give it to me and say well thats the best I can do, I would have not noticed the difference, it felt good, but something about it he didnt like and he wanted to give me a good product . He went out of his way. My friends said "what???" he did what? and I said yep. ok it took a week longer, i had to drive back one more time, but you know what, I respect him for that! what doctor admits hey I will make it better and do a good job. He has high standards is very ethcial, he does a great job and I for one will tell everyone I know about Dr Bob, Jen and his team over at Suncoast dental in Liichfield Park...Thankyou Dr Bob for initially getting me out of pain, for being a painless dentist and for being a good ethical dentist!!! read more

Several years ago I went to this location for multiple routine check-ups. These went fine, since I have quite healthy teeth, although it seemed each visit I had a different dentist. Then I had a visit in which I was told I had 4 cavities which needed to be filled... I was surprised, and asked the dentist, are you sure? She acted very insulted and said, well that's my recommendation. I decided to hold off and get other opinions. Well, guess what? No other dentist in the past 8 years has found these "cavities". I can't believe that dentist recommended drilling and filling healthy teeth, IMO that is so unethical. read more

I just came from my dentist appt at a different dentist office, in order to get a second opinion. All I can say is that the difference is night and day. At my second dentist's office they knew I was coming in for a second opinion, (because I was hand carrying my x-rays that were just taken), but I did not share with them what the other dentist office recommended etc. The lady who cleaned my teeth gave me a quick explanation of how she was going to use an instrument to measure the space between my gums and teeth. She did this on each tooth and came up with a number for each tooth. (This is what I am used to other dentist offices doing as well.) After she did that she said I only needed a regular cleaning and not a deep cleaning. I then told her that Suncoast Dental said I needed a deep cleaning - to make sure she knew I didn't mind paying for it if it was truly needed. My new dental technician stood by her prognosis. (Interesting that the lady at suncoast dental did not evaluate my teeth in the same way - she basically just looked in my mouth, pinched my tongue on accident and said I needed a deep cleaning). When the dentist looked at my teeth after they were cleaned, (at the new dentist office), he saw 2 teeth that he had a little concern about. He wants to clean them up and put a protective coating on the top. When the dentist talked to me about the teeth he first used an instrument to take a picture of the areas he was talking about and then put the pictures on a screen while he was talking. A little different than the hygienist telling you they needed to take care of two cavities and then saying they are too small to show you on the x-ray. The most interesting part is that the two teeth that my new dentist wants to take care of are not the same teeth the suncoast dental wanted to take care of. After receiving my prognosis at my new dentist office I shared with him what Suncoast Dental said just to make sure those teeth that they said had cavities were fine and he said he saw no issues with those teeth. Not that money means much when it comes to teeth but my bill at my new dentist will be $35 out of pocket, not $800. More important though is the piece of mind I have that my dentist office knows what they are talking about and care about their patients. You will not find that if you go to Suncoast Dental. read more

SUNCOAST DENTAL in Litchfield Park is horrible! I saw a dentist in LItchfield (Dr. Steven T Nguyen) and he was totally unprofessional. Totally arrogant. I had a cavity and he filled my right upper molar. During the process he didn't give me enough anesthetic and I was in horrible pain! Then he over did it with the anesthesia.My face was numb and swollen for at least 8 hours after the procedure! He was not gentle at all! The corners of my mouth were bleeding when he finished up. After the numbness went away, my tooth was in pain. I suffered for three days like that. I called them the next day telling them about the pain and they said it was normal. I kept calling and I got in to see him again. He said that everything was fine! FINE! I was in terrible pain! After getting nowhere with the lousy staff and him, I had to go to another dentist to find out that Nguyen had made the filling too deep!! It was hitting a nerve! I was in such pain. I suffered unnecessarily for over a week like that. My new dentist fixed the mess that Suncoast had made of me. I will never go there again. I am terrified of dentists and this is the reason why. I read another review recently about this very SAME dentist working at another SUNCOAST office location as well! Looks like he has some other people that he has done some lousy work on. I am glad they reported him and that outfit. I wish I would have read the other review before I made the decision to see him. It would have saved me a lot of pain and anguish. Someone told me to look into filing a complaint with the dental board over this matter. I don't see how these horrible dentists keep getting away with this stuff! DO not go to Suncoast dental! Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a dental office. They pulled my front teeth and did not have denture partial ready, even after on my initial visit which was four days prior when they tried to extract my teeth and I wouldn't let them. I explained to them that I will not let the extract my teeth until they had the partial ready because I could not miss any time from work. So the doctor told me ok and that they would take some impressions on my teeth and that they would have the denture partial ready when I came back on that Monday which was 4 days later. He told me that they had there own machine for making denture partials so it wouldn't be a problem having it ready because they don't have to send anything out. He said that I would have to pay for the denture that day so they could get it done and they would extract the 2 teeth when I came back in on that Monday I agreed. With my insurance I had to pay $337.00 out of pocket. I come back 4 days later on Monday and the first thing I ask is do you guys have my denture ready and the doctor says yes were good to go. They extract my two front teeth and then I'm waiting in the room for what seem like 45 minutes. Then the girl at the front desk comes in and says that they are putting the final touches on my denture partial and is it possible for me to come back in 2 hours and it will be ready. Long story short, exactly what I didn't want to happen had happened, they pulled my front teeth without having the denture partial ready. I came back 2 hours later only to be told that they didn't like the way the denture came out looking so they wouldn't have it ready till Wednesday. There's no way that I was going to believe that I said why would u pull my teeth knowing you didn't have the denture ready. She apologized and they tried to give me a $75 gift card to use at there dentist office as if I would ever do any business with this place again. I went back 2 days later to get my denture and it did not fit, it took about two hours of adjusting just to get it to fit. They put a liner on the denture to make it fit which with every passing day breaks off piece by piece. I lost $337 dollars on a partial that doesn't fit, not to mention what my insurance paid. All from a place that says they have there own machine for dentures. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
