Super good selection of candy to bring to the beach!! Kids filled their own bags and loved to have so many choices.

We arrived at 4 and other people were also arriving and we all had to wait to order our food. Our fried calamari was incredible and definitely fresh. The menu states that majority of the fish is caught that same day. I had steak frites as my entree. It wasn't the best and definitely lacked flavor. My husband ordered the spicy salmon and shrimp tempura roll. He said they were very good but couldn't been colder. Our flourless chocolate cake extremely lacked flavor and didn't taste fresh. I could've gone without it. Nevertheless, it's a restaurant that's tradition and we always enjoy our experience and view.

Service - 2/5 - place was jammed, but still very slow. Ambiance - 5/5 - nice location with live music. Overall - 3/5 - stand by my original 3 star review. This place is a bit overhyped and you pretty much pay for the experience of eating there. Food was a mixed bag, some dishes really good, others are whatever. The Tuna with lentils was by far the best. Service was very slow, you cannot make a reservation so you are playing Russian roulette walking into the door. Even the place being busy, still took way too much time get things moving. You pay for the location, nice spot on the water, live music, modern inside, that is where you pay. All things considered, probably would not return. Best Dish - Tuna with lentils Would Return - Not likely

While in Montauk last weekend, I stopped by Topside for lunch, and it ended up being one of my…read morefavorite meals of the trip. Both the food and the overall experience were outstanding. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I started with the fluke sushi, which I'd never tried before, and it was delicious. (I wish I could accurately describe sushi/fish in better detail, but I can't so just trust me on this one!) For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. With that being said, I absolutely cannot wait to eat another amazing lobster roll with that lovely view! 5 stars for the lobster roll, 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the hospitality!

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

Well it was quite a disappointment! The sauce had no flavor at all and needed a lot of sauce. What makes a shakshukah great is a nice runny yoke! My friend got a semi runny yoke and I got over cooked well-done egg which was the last straw. I ate it and kept my mouth shut but I would not recommend. Not to mention that the dish was very expensive for what it is. My wife's egg sandwich was OKAY, and the only thing that looked pretty good was someone's scrambled eggs and bacon. Next time I'm in Montauk I will be skipping this place.

We ordered a ton of food (two-three of a few dishes) which was all very satisfying, but the Branzino stood apart. The striped bass carpaccio was flavorful, but it would have complemented better if it were chopped thinner. The lobster was tender and soft. French fries were nice and crispy thin. I loved the tomatoes (tomates olivettes confites). Cauliflower could have done without as both servings weren't to temperature -- more on the warm side. However, I would recommend just about everything we ordered (see proper French dish names below). Drinks were all good; we just ordered classic drinks/wine/cocktails. Let's talk dessert! We tried everything except the fruit. My absolute favorite was the crepes dentelles! Second favorite, the chocolate ice cream. Beignets were ok, a little too dense inside instead of airy/puffy. And the brioche cake (or tropezienne a la vanille) was sweet - a couple of bites are plenty. French names: Carpaccio De Bar Rayé x2, Gosman's Live Lobster x2, Tomates Olivettes Confites x2, Pommes Frites À L'origan x3, Choux-Fleurs Marinés Et Dorés Au Four x2.
