What a way to start off the celebration! Took advantage of the coffee flight and some brunch (they have brunch Saturday and Sunday!!). Wait staff and the kitchen went above and beyond to make sure my dishes were gluten free. Highly recommend!! read more

Okay so I went there for lunch with my wife, in Grand Rapids for the weekend. My first time ever being there. Nice City, Very Clean at least Downtown is. So we popped in for a quick bite, and noticed they had Reubens. I love a good Reuben but I can honestly say that one was probably one of the worst I've ever eaten. Even though I was starving I only ate half, my wife took pity on me and gave me half of her delicious chicken wrap so it wasn't a total waste of money. read more

Smart on their part being open early because we were going to try Tupelo but they didn't open till 11 and we wanted breakfast/brunch just after 9 so we walked across the street to Sundance. This is always one of our go to's for great breakfast and they delivered again though typically we hit the one in cascade. We started the trend for the day sitting on the patio seating because it was a gorgeous morning! And this location is great for games and other tv events since they have a good selection inside. Started with some basic bloody Mary's; usually solid and I feel the BLT Bloody you don't really get much more for paying more. But they've since added a mimosa flight which looked amazing so we split that also. (Blood orange was fantastic if you just want one mimosa) Food was fairly quick and as usual a right on point with flavorful and tasteful dishes. Highly recommend. read more

Went in for the first time ever with my daughter and 2 year old grandson after watching Bluey at Devos Place. I had heard great things so we thought we would check it out. Upon arriving we were told it would be a ten minute wait. We thought that was a bit unusual because the place was practically empty but we chalked it up to a lot of places being short on help. We ordered the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos so that we could each trade one so we could try them both. We waited quite some time for our food to come. Once it came it seemed like something was missing. It wasn't until after we left (they take the menus after you order) that I looked at the menu online. The food definitely did not have "Nappa" cabbage. It was lettuce. In addition to this neither plate had beans. Menu clearly states rice and beans. If something is not available a decent establishment would let the customer know and then generally offer a replacement. Our waitress never said anything. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

What wasn't wrong with this place!? The service was bad. It was a Sunday night and very slow. Our server only had two tables. We only saw him when he took our order and brought our food. No water refills. Didn't check how the food was...which he should have because it was bad and the order was wrong. The food was terrible. For the chips and queso, the chips were greasy and stale...at least a day or two old. The queso was so generic. Clearly just microwaved out of a jar. The food was terrible. Quality was just bad on the food on every level. I was literally telling people coming in to turn around and go somewhere else. read more

We've been here several times as we really like the food, however this time, it was not great. The server was just "meh", did the absolute bare minimum. They weren't that busy. The food was served barely warm for the entire table. We were told, "sorry the kitchen didn't make your food correct, but you can maybe just add hot sauce". That's ridiculous! Who does that? Horrible. All of our food was wrong. There were 8 of us. Hard boiled eggs and hard sauce on 3 eggs Benedict and 2 raw eggs on a burrito. (not sunny side up... raw!) They fixed it by wiping off the burrito and putting hard eggs in it. The manager's response? "I'm Sorry that's your PERCEPTION" This place SUXXXXX. all of us agreed to the wiped off raw egg burrito and it was for sure all hard boiled bennies. Save yourself the diarrhea. read more

Took forever for the staff to even acknowledge we were in the restaurant. Waitress was very nice and the food was excellent. Charged a 3% surcharge to "offset inflation" on the bill. So basically all the menu prices are incorrect. I've never seen this. Not even sure it's legal. Would have preferred honesty in the pricing. read more

Sundance Grill & Bar is probably one of the best brunch spots we've been to! We went on a Saturday morning and were sat right away. Our server lagged a little, but our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. The food was literally picture perfect (including the food we watched come out before ours) and was delicious. I've been coming to Sundance since moving to Grand Rapids in 2003. I've been to all the locations (I still miss the safe), and can truly say it's one of my favorite breakfast places in the city. I recently realized I haven't ever reviewed this place and couldn't believe it. I've had so many happy times here! Some examples include: First breakfast date in GR, many breakfast dates with my husband, brunch dates with DINKS, breakfast before my wedding, ladies group before traveling, baby shower, happy hour, and so many more! I absolutely love this place! We went on Saturday and were so impressed. Everyone had on masks, tables were set apart, people were so friendly, and it was very welcoming during these uncertain times. I enjoyed my bloody mary & breakfast burrito! My hubs has the hash. We chatted and enjoyed being out and I had my hibiscus mimosa to close out our visit. Sundance is now repaired from the rioting (no more broken windows!), and I hope that business picks up for them! We were there over an hour and only saw 6 other guests. Yes, it was 8 in the morning, but Sundance deserves better. Come on Grand Rapids- Great food, great service and outdoor seating when the weather gets warmer! read more

I do not recommend the lunch/dinner menu. I have had brunch here and will say the Mexican southwestern thing they have going on works, but only on the breakfast/brunch menu. However... the non breakfast items are terrible. Queso was decent, but the chips were awful. I ordered Carne Asada Street Tacos and I almost laughed when the bartender placed them in front of me. They looked like steak on a tortilla. Zero topping! Zero! $13 for 4 tiny, gross tacos. And NO sides? Mexican restaurants can't serve bad tacos! Save your time and money and look elsewhere if you want Mexican food. If you want brunch then I recommend checking out Sundance. read more

3 stars for service and accommodating a large group. Minus 2 for the food. The food was just ok. We got the loaded potatoes/ egg rolls/ queso to start. I liked the crispy potatoes and the egg rolls were interesting. The chips with the queso were stale. I got biscuits and gravy for the main and it was underwhelming. My husband got a skillet that was equally just ok. Some of the flavor profiles are weird but that could just be personal taste. Great for accommodating big groups but I wouldn't go back simply for the food. This one was a miss for me. read more

Unfortunately, we were not impressed at all. The tortillas for my chorizo and bacon tacos were dry and flaky, the filling really didn't have much flavor at all, and the potatoes came out cold. My wife's eggs were overcooked, and her potatoes were also cold. Apparently they gave our server four new tables all at the same time so we never really saw her after getting our food. Had to flag her down just to get some fresh coffee. She was very, very nice and apologetic though and they comped the chorizo tacos. read more

Came in for brunch. I had the Sundance omelet. It was filled with meat and vegetables and overflowing with flavor. I also got a cinnamon roll. This thing is massive it was the size of a small cake in float of icing. The roll was good but at times tasted dry. The French toast was a style that I had not seen. The outside of the bread was super crispy but the inside was soft. Bring on the syrup. The dining experience was simple family style. Service was efficient. read more

Lots of food! Lots of choices! Awesome staff!! I visited Sundance Grill & Bar for a late breakfast with a couple of cousins. We all wanted breakfast so we quickly discovered that we had come to the right place! My omelette was huge! It was stuffed with all the good stuff and was delivered piping hot. It was very flavorful and served with potato pieces and toast. One cousin ordered one of the skillets and the other cousin ordered a scrambled egg entrée. We split an order of French toast with an order of bacon. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful, and made our visit a wonderful dining experience! If you're looking for late or all day breakfast, tacos, or just good food and drinks, you can't go wrong with Sundance Grill & Bar! read more

Yes, please! First, Sundance serves DELICIOUS morning cocktails, so kudos for realizing that when people are on vacation and visiting Grand Rapids, they truly do LOVE and appreciate a wonderful drink to get their day started. Mimosas are the typical morning imbibement, but Sundance offers a really lovely variety of drinks, so yeah: awesome! As for food, everything was outstanding. Bread is the base for our two breakfasts, one being french toast and the other an order of avocado toast; this place really understands how good the bread-base has to be for those two dishes to succeed and elevate what your taste buds expect. The french toast used a cinnamon swirl bread and was so tasty, I almost ordered a 2nd helping of it (the perfectly-crispy bacon filled us up though, haha). Meanwhile, the avocado toast combined tomatillo with avocado, which was much more refreshing than straight-up avocado. It was served on four hearty-yet-homemade-tasting multigrain slices; again, that quality bread really elevated this dish and the addition on sunflower seeds on the toasted slices was perfection. We'll be back here for sure and our server, Stacie, was a bowl of sunshine to get our day started right and that's really appreciated in an at-first unfamiliar city! read more

Came here with a group of friends for 6 of us total tonight, had to wait 20+ minutes for a table because they forgot about getting a table ready for us. Once seated our waiter was good and quick, drinks and food came out quickly. I had the prickly pear margarita which was quite good. For dinner I had the fried chicken wrap without the cheese. Unfortunately the wrap fell apart too easily. Fries were good and crispy. Price was $19 which is pretty good for the downtown area. Would visit again. read more

Ok, so I know this place would probably be more popular if it didn't kinda look like an On The Border. And also if the staffing shortage these days got better! Although the wait was kinda long, and our server didn't come around much, the food was pretty good for the price points. The highlight of brunch, though, was the mimosa flight for $12! And they don't skimp on the bubbly ;) They also have those really good, crispy, diner fries we all get a hankering for once in awhile. I wouldn't suggest this place if you're trying to impress anyone. The atmosphere is pretty drab, and you'll probably wait awhile for your food.
