This is a bit on the high side, as far as I'm concerned. The fresh squeezed orange juice is good, but it's also $4. So, two breakfasts and a cinnamon roll came to 38. Good thing I didn't order coffee she never came back to check on us. Had to flag down a bus boy to get refill on soft drinks and water. I ordered Hatch Chile Pork Skillet. Waited 45 minutes + Presentation was very good. Eggs were ice cold. Rest of order was just so-so. Would not recommend. Overall wait time was ridiculous for table and food. This was our second time here (went last year). We sat down and had a fresh hot pot of coffee instantly. I had the chorizo and bacon breakfast tacos with the crispy Sundance potatoes. I gobbled this all up in minutes. The chorizo was spicy and not greasy. The eggs were cheesy and perfect. The corn tortilla shells really tied everything together. I ordered a wet burrito for takeout and even added cutlery to the order. When I picked it up, I asked the server directly if there was a fork...she said yes. Avoid avoid avoid. So many other great places in GR to eat. This place looks the part of a nice neighborhood joint. Southwest egg roll appetizer and bar drinks were good. I can even forgive the very forgettable chicken fajita- this isn't exactly a mexican place (I don't think...) . What I wont forget or forgive is the 3 percent "surcharge" added to the check. Paying cash or credit - an extra 3 percent. It appears on the check before credit card was produced so it wasn't to cover that charge. The server told me she didn't know what it was for and had "no control over whether it gets added or not" which tells me it's totally arbitrary. I paid it with protest and asked to speak to the manager afterwards. He said it was added so they "don't have to raise prices on the menu." No mention of credit card coverage. And there's no mention of this "surcharge" on the menu! He referred to (non Existent) signs on the door and on the(non existent) website. If you can find any mention of this surcharge anywhere in the real world let me know. I think they saw a new customer and figured they could get away with it. So, unless you're a regular, avoid this place. Food is average at best and I hate giving my business to those who try to fleece the public. read more

My family visited my sister in town for the night and we celebrated a birthday here for brunch. We had a large group with a couple of young kids and not only got sat immediately but got to sit out on their awesome patio. Our server Connor was amazing the entire time and was bringing things to the table that we needed before we even asked their food menu has a perfect spread of options and their drinks were amazing. For my first visit to Grand Rapids this restaurant was certainly a bit of a downer. Walking into the restaurant we noticed we could sit on the patio, and that was wonderful. I loved the set up and that we could still be apart of the atmosphere of downtown. The hostess at this restaurant clearly was trying to do her best to make up for the short handed staff. Although I completely understand this, lying that the tables were dirty on the patio isn't acceptable. We waited 15 minutes to watch ZERO waitresses go out to clean them. And then when I asked if we could just seat ourselves she said she wasn't sitting us because the waitress was busy. Oh god. So we end up seating ourselves and waiting another 15 minutes for our waitress to finally come to us. Thankfully, she was honest and it was clear enough she had WAY to many tables for herself. Her efforts and kindness were appreciated even though the wait was too long. The food here was good. We had the chips and queso (somewhat spicy, but still tasty) and the chicken quesadilla (very good, but messy). I would also recommend trying their bloody Mary's. Their house mix was delicious. Ready to dig into my food, I unwrap my silverware. I then notice that the silverware for each person at our table had green guck on it and looked like they weren't even washed, and STILL WRAPPED. This is absolutely unacceptable and beyond disgusting and unsanitary. If they're gonna be quick to wash their silverware like that I can only imagine how they rinse and wash everything else. (Please see my photos). Overall, this experience was dull and semi repulsive. I really feel bad posting this for our waitress because she was great and really made up for the experience. Though I don't believe they are on the menu, I've gotten chocolate chip pancakes 3 different times now. Today's order was especially delicious! I was interested in the cilantro jalapeño corn cakes so I asked for a side order. They were large pancakes with a side of butter and syrup. That cost me $8.29 which I felt was a ripoff. The full breakfast dish included 2 cakes, 2 sunny side up eggs, homemade pico and a chorizo link, all for $10. They have a new outdoor seating area that looks really nice! We all ordered a mimosas flight because why not, we're on a mini vacation. The only downfall with the mimosas flight - the restaurant did not have enough wine glasses to accommodate the mimosas flight requests, this was very odd to me. Best restaurant that we enjoyed so much when we went to grab rapids downtown. The food is amazing, ambient is amazing. The only thing I gave 4 stars is because of the waitress. They interrupt each other while talking to the customer. They need to fix that part because people need full attention when talking without interruptions and without reminding the waitress that we were ordering our food. Very distracted waitress. The southwest fries were the best fries i have had in a long time. They are better than cosmic fries from hopcat i promise you. If you go during happy hour you get them for a good price as well. The burgers were also very good and amazing when i took them home for leftovers! read more

the service here was less then OK, Came here on Labor day from breakfast , as we were getting seated I noticed maybe about 4 or 5 table in the restaurant, service came out about 5 mins later to get our drinks, 10 mins later she came back with our drinks and took our order. The server never came back till I went and asked her how much linger for our food because it has been already 35 mins and we had a one year old with us hungry . Mine you this server never came back to asked us how the drinks were nor did she come to let us know the orders will be coming soon. I think she really forgot about us Because after that the food came and it was cold and my daughters food had tomatoes on it like she asked for them to not have on , the server replied well I wrote it on the ticket!!!
