This was our first time at Trick Daddy's restaurant, and we weren't disappointed. My husband knows Trick personally, so he let him know that once we pass by and it's not crowded, we will stop by and order. :-) Soooo, guess what??? Today was our lucky day. We were in the area and decided to order here. It was many people inside, but no line. I had collard green, Mac and cheese, yellow rice and Turkey wings. My husband had string beans, yellow rice, and pork chops. For our drink, we had blue lemonade. Once we ordered, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for the food. Not a problem. Overall this restaurant is good! The line was long but they do a good job of moving it fast by taking orders quick. They quoted us 25 minutes for our food to be ready but in reality it took 1 hour. It's small inside so not really much space to sit and eat because most of the tables are being used by people waiting on food. Overall though it's good an the prices are fair. They did mess up my order and luckily we hadn't traveled too far so were able to go back and get it corrected. So I finally got a chance to try this place and I must have caught them at the perfect time because there was no line! My friend and I were fresh off the road from traveling and had no clue they closed so early. Luckily we were just in time. I was in between the turkey wings and fried ribs. I asked the cashier what she predicted and she raved about the turkey wings so I quickly made that switch. She was not kidding those turkey wings were sooo good and seasoned! The greens and cornbread were good too however I wasn't really a fan of the yellow rice however it comes with every meal. The bathrooms were clean and the cashier was super nice! She said they are actually slow around this time of the year due to majority of their patrons being tourists. While the food is still tasty the changes although small are annoying. When ordering on Uber eats now the option to have the pork chops smothered is gone and they now charge $1.30 for a super small container of gravy that doesn't "smother" the chops. The Mac and cheese was $3.99 it's now $7.79 for the exact same size. The turkey wings went up $8...while I expected the meal prices to rise a little bit due to inflation, but to nickel and dime for everything when that wasnt always the case is highly disappointing to say the least. I heard so many good things about Sunday's Eatery and I'm so glad I got to try it for myself. It's located in a shopping center with other businesses so there's plenty of free parking. It's a little far out from south beach, but if you want some good soul food you should make the trip. It's small inside with about 5 tables and a bench to sit and wait for Togo orders (it's more of a to-go spot). The staff are helpful with the menu and providing recommendations. Now I gotta be honest Sunday's either probably has one of the best soul foods and all of South Florida. Everything was really good at fried ribs. Normally when you can fry rib from a lot of places as tough as hard real season easy pull off the bone for sure not a service it be packing there, but you get your food on time. There is style a wait but they notify you through text when either your table is ready or you can pick up your food. The young lady taking the order was ready to go cause her facial expressions were saying a lot. They have the best Blue Velvet Cake and Banana Pudding but they were out of stock. The macaroni taste as if it was warmed up the rice was a little dry but it was grain for grain and not sticky. The corn was the superb and fresh. The decoration was just basic. The outside definitely needs some cleaning to entice customers to want to come more. We were from Brevard so there was no use to contact the store to inform them of the complaints of the food. This was a surprise to me since I had no idea where I was going but it was a pleasant one. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and you get huge servings. It took a bit of time for our food to be prepared im not sure why but we did get a little bit of everything so I'm assuming. But once we got our food, there was no talking just eating because it was so good. The restaurant itself is very small, only a few tables so you have to wait for someone to get up if you want to sit down. They do have R&B playing so even during your wait you feel right at home. The inside is much smaller than I expected with around 4 tables. We were able to sit in. Overall the food was salty. I did not enjoy my dinner. The turkey wings tasted very porky and salty to me. There are a few seats and tables in there for you to dine. However, you cannot get your table cleaned if the store is busy. Please note if you get the Kool-Aid refills are not free. The price of the food is costly. There was almost nothing on the menu below four dollars besides the drinks. This place lived up to the hype all the way. Trick Daddy knows how to cook and run a restaurant. The line moved fast they had an awesome manager that kept things moving quickly and the music playing was smooth R&B music at a decent volume nothing overly loud. The food was bomb that fried rib was everything I thought it would be and you see the pic of that Mac and cheese it speaks for itself. The text never came, but one of the male workers made sure that I received my food while it was still hot. Pros: The food is pretty good. Cons: The location is questionable, park at your own risk. You cannot go inside to order and the line outside tends to stretch into the parking lot and onto the sidewalk. They are closed on Tuesdays. Serving sizes were not the best. I truly enjoyed my visit to Sunday's Eatery. One of my girlfriends and I "dropped" down to Miami for a quick getaway from the northern cold and planned to check out this restaurant I first became aware of while watching Love and Hip Hop Miami. I am very happy that we did. We appreciated the COVID protocols in place by having patrons line up along the walk way closest to the street where young ladies came over to take our orders. We were then moved to the walk way outside of the restaurant to be ushered inside keeping a safe distance while orders were bagged up. Once inside the restaurant we noticed how clean it was, the gentleman at the door was very pleasant and provided a squirt of hand sanitizer for everyone coming in. There was a area for Grubhub type of pickups. Once inside, we sat for a few minutes before our number was called to get our food. Since we stopped by the restaurant on our way to the airport, I pulled over at a gas station so we could dive into the food while it was still hot. We both ordered the fried ribs with our respective sides. The ribs were accompanied by a delicious sauce but the ribs were seasoned well enough where the sauce was just a bonus. The Mac and cheese was perfect. The collard greens taste fresh and the cornbread muffin and peas and rice were nice complimentary add-ons. Order was ready on time and everything was hot and delicious. Only problem I had was I they ran out of peas and rice but I didn't find out until I received my food. The staff was very accommodating and apologized for the missing peas and rice. My family enjoyed their meal and we were very satisfied. I was even impressed with the macaroni and cheese I would order it again. Get here before 7pm or else you will miss out. Be aware the prices on line are $5 higher than if you order inside the restaurant which to me is disappointing.
