Sundek just finished my concrete around my pool, lower patio and front door stoop area. Their team was fantastic masking and covering all areas that were not going to be treated. Their clean up was just as meticulous. The finished product looks great and will hopefully last for years to come. I would highly recommend them for any concrete coloring and repair. Due to landscaping construction over a period of a year, we had a few delays in "pulling the trigger" with Sundek. They were very accommodating. The sales rep-Adrian-was quite responsive and when we gave the go ahead, the job (quite a large concrete deck, aggregate stone pool surround and walkway to the front of the home) was efficiently competed in four days. The workmen were all very nice hardworking and communicative. The upper deck was completed with no pattern other than two stairs which were done in what was called a soldier course. There were existing cracks in the lower deck aggregate. For this, a "custom scoring" pattern was recommended (connecting existing cracks with newly cut cracks...very clever) to make the surface appear like inset stone. This worked beautifully. We can't speak to durability as the job was just completed, but we're very pleased with the care the Sundek workmen took to protect the site, the cleanup, and the completed project. Rep called us and said that the driveway couldn't be fixed because it looked bad on google maps. I kid you not, she said there was nothing they can do because she looked at google map photos of our driveway. Didn't even try to come in-person and observe the driveway. Lazy bums. Avoid these clowns. They will only do certain projects that they deem worthy. Very elitist and snobby. So unprofessional and disrespectful. No respect for customers. read more

After Jake told me in July 2020 he will never come back to repair the job, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Their reply is summarized below. Sundek never replied to multiple attempts by the BBB to contact them. What does this say about their customer service or Jake's online post several years ago Jake Olsen posted 6 years ago "he felt bad about some of the past reviews and wish he could correct them".. I called Sundek twice to get a quote for my porch. Spoke with one of the reps and was told that they will give me a call back. After few days of waiting I called them back. And again was told that they'll call me back. I waited another week. Still nothing. Then I decided to submit an online request. Response from Sundek? "Here's our number. Give us a call". Sundek of IL will be happy to come out and get your business, but if you need any repairs or have any complaints Jake will never call you back!!! Trust a customer who paid twice to have their pool deck resurfaced in less than 10 years. HQ will not help at all! Terrible customer service, use another company. read more

Sundeck masonary application has worked perfectly for our condo association sidewalk area. Before their work, our sidewalks looked atrocious but after their work they look like brand new! Each spring we have them come out to fix small cracks and chips that occur with use and our harsh winters. Staying on top of that is a big part of keeping it all looking nice! I give them an "A" rating and if you are looking to change the appearance of your sidewalk, driveway or pool deck, call these guys. You will not be disappointed with the results. read more

If you are considering concrete work and/or the decorating of that concrete, this company should be your first choice, not only for their superior work, but for their superb customer service. read more

Methinks not to be sure. Their concrete treatment is very nice but the hell their "customer service" puts a person thru is simply not worth it. If something goes wrong with their treatment they pretty much blame it on something with the concrete they're applying it to and walk away. One must be relentless in their follow up. I pictured our front walk turning out great, but Sundek WAY exceeded expectations! Yes, we saw the brochure, and even the sidewalk by your office... but our finished project was so much better than we could have anticipated! The team was friendly, neat and professional. They answered my questions, and explained the process further. Cleaned up nicely every day and protected our house and surrounding landscape well. And our sales rep was always quick to follow up when we called. But the look - color and texture - of our front walk is just stunning... we are so pleased with the entire effect: Looks great from afar as well as up close. While I was not impressed with their communication on completing my patio, the staff that came out to actually do the job, did a great job. I realize that weather plays a huge role in Sundeck's ability to complete jobs; however, a little communication goes a long way. I also realize that contractors go from job to job and that's just the way it is - but I have found if you don't call and inquire, you will be put to the bottom of the list. Chris, the assistant mgr, was very professional, knowledgeable, and did everything he promised and then some. My deck is beautiful. The crew was absolutely wonderful. Hired Sundek to resurface our discolored front patio // steps with a beautiful gray herringbone pattern at the recommendation of several neighbors with patios done YEARS prior that still look brand new. Initial consultation with Design / Sales Consultant Adrian was both timely and professional -- and she was extremely accessible throughout the entire process for my (many!) questions via phone & email. Crew worked quickly and carefully, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We had Sundek resurface our garage floor about a year ago! The floor turned out perfect and the crew had it completely finished in one day! It looks like a showroom floor each time my wife or I pull in the garage. Recently I had my boat parked in the garage and the outboard motor leaked oil all over the floor. The oil sat over the weekend while my wife and I were out of town! I came home and was furious that I forgot to put something under the motor. To my surprise when I went to clean it up with just a rag it came off with no problem at all in just seconds. No stain, no residue, it was perfect!!! I highly recommend this company!!! read more

Sundek of IL resurfaced our pool deck in 2014. They initially surfaced it many years ago when our pool was installed, and we were happy with the product. They get one star because I still like the Sundek product. Unfortunately, the lack of any other stars is due to terrible customer service, including rudeness and arrogance by Jake the owner of Sundek of IL, and his office staff. Within a week of the job being completed, the pool decking needed to be acid-washed (due to efflorescence) and repaired, because pieces of the top coat started peeling off. (Armondo, at Sundek Headquarters in Texas, told me this was due to the base-coat not having a chance to dry before the top-coat was applied.) We insisted Jake come out and look at the finished project. Instead of respecting our concerns and taking responsibility for the errors, he became defensive and stated several times, "We've been in business 29 years...". He suggested I wait until Spring, 2015 to have the repairs done, and said they would do the job as soon as we opened our pool. In April, 2015 I called Sundek of IL and scheduled to have the work done on May 18th. I confirmed a few days beforehand with Sundek of IL office employee, Colleen, who told me I was on the schedule. When I asked if there would be any reason they would not show up, her response was, "If they don't forget." On the morning of May 18th, I called Sundek of IL to get an idea of what time they would arrive. Colleen responded, "I have no idea." When I asked if she could check the schedule, she said, "I don't have one." I then asked for Jake's phone number, which she wouldn't give me, but said she would try to reach him and get back to me. She called me back within an hour and told me they would not be out that day. When I asked when I would be rescheduled, she again replied, "I have no idea." No apologies, no offer to help, nothing. Frustrated, I called Sundek Headquarters in Texas to voice my complaint. Over the next several months I had numerous conversations with Sundek HQ employees (Deidra, Casey, Lilly, Monica, Sarah) all who said they would contact Jake on my behalf. They told me that he would call me, but he never did. When I asked why they couldn't make him do his job, they informed me they could only act as a liaison, and nothing else. The only person who would help me was Deidra who realized I was not going to give up and no matter how much she contacted Jake, he was going to ignore her requests to call me. She sent me directions on how to acid-wash my pool deck, which we did ourselves, and also sent me paint so I could repair the peeling top-coat myself. Potential customers of Sundek of IL should be aware of what I learned from HQ -- Sundek HQ and Sundek of IL are two separate companies. HQ does not provide technical support to customers. Any warranty is between the customer and Sundek of IL. HQ cannot compel Jake, the owner of Sundek of IL, to do anything, nor force him to follow up when problems arise. In addition, Sundek of IL has a monopoly over all of the Midwest territory, thus there is no one else to call when Jake refuses to address problems. It's been over six months since I was scheduled to have work performed, and still have not been contacted by Jake. Incidentally, my neighbor recently told me she wanted to have her pool deck resurfaced by Sundek of IL last summer. She called several times to schedule an appointment for an estimate, and was told by the office staff, "Jake has your number." She never heard from him. It's unfortunate, as I do like the Sundek product, but due to the lack of courtesy, and atrocious customer service, I will never use Sundek of IL again, and could never recommend them . read more
