Sundown is a smaller bar with a local crowd. I went on Wednesday night for bingo. There is no charge to play and they have really good prizes. And you get more than one prize if you win. I play pool, so I'm predisposed to liking establishments that offer free practice, and plenty of tournament play. There are leagues there nightly, except for Saturday when there is usually a tournament. The patrons are incredibly friendly as well. I used to frequent the pool tournaments at Sundown about 9+ years ago, but I have been away from it for a long time... Mostly new faces now except for maybe 3 hard core people from back in the day who were also playing back then at the time I was. When I returned it was great, and everyone friendly. Even people I hadn't met before. Incidentally, Yuengling beer, 1 pint for $3, or a small pitcher for $6. It is an easy choice if you're there for a while and want more than one. Highly recommend whether you play pool or not. But if you do play pool, you especially must check out the scene there. The Diamond pool tables are vacuumed twice weekly and the balls are cleaned as well. read more

Racist and serve underage This review is toward the evening bartender 4/1/2025 and all the avid aggressive regulars that management allows. Jojo, Jill and every other bartender I've experienced at Sundown is amazing especially during the holidays (where I've never seen said evening bartender). Evening bartender criticizes patrons and never has had a positive attitude. I tipped this evening bartender multiple large tips since the first day I met her and never received attentive service and the last time I went (and will ever go) she criticized me for leaving a 10% tip, today, the day of the review, she told me that quote "This tip is not enough and I will not allow you here again" then she snatched the beer that I was currently drinking and paid for after I told her she doesn't deserve the tip she's demanding. I will call the BBB and explain the situation ASAP. Especially under EVENING BARTENDER SERVICES UNDERAGE PATRONS. read more

Bar was great and service was good. Ill have to give this place another try because my young female friends were harassed by multiple guys who define themselves as "regulars." Probably the worst bar experience of my life but I can't fault the bar itself due to it not being their fault who their customers are. Just be aware when bringing young females late at night because that's when this happened. Again, this is not the bars fault but some of the "regulars" who don't respect women. Also, this doesn't seem like the bar young people should go to so if you are older this is a great spot but if you are on the younger side you might get stared at (as did my group and I for the entirety of us being there). read more

When I moved to the suburbs I pretty much resigned myself to drinking at home. I had an out of town guest last Friday who wanted to go out for an evening, and being the gracious host that I am I obliged and prepared myself for for the worst. We stumbled upon the Sundown Inn Pub and decided to give it a shot. You could hear the jukebox (the Internet kind that have almost everything, I believe it was) blasting Journey from the entrance. That was nice. There are ashtrays and plenty of seating in the front for smoking. The first thing I took note of upon entering was the beer selection. I didn't see too much that I would go for, but there are 3 or 4 old favorites.. which is more than I expect from a far suburban dive. I settled on Red Stripe ($3.50, not bad!), but they also carry Fat Tire, Blue Moon and at least one type of Sam Adams (sorry I didn't see which kind). There are 3 pool tables and 2 dart boards. The pool is $1.50 a game if I remember correctly. Two of the pool tables where too close together; a pet peeve of mine. Luckily we were able to get the one off by itself. There is plenty of seating, although most of the crowd was at the bar Everyone seemed pleasant and there weren't any obnoxious patrons to speak of. At one point a delightfully eccentric regular pointed out to me that the bar has an extensive martini list. I remember noticing Pineapple Upside Down Cake, but I can't remember any other flavors.. I will say that the list was about 2 pages, front and back. Overall this place is a great find. Great laid back atmosphere, cheap drinks and plenty to do. This bar is great. I would likely classify it as a locals bar or a dive bar, which is one thing I love about it. Everyone I have met here has been super friendly, and the place always seems to have a decent crowd. The beer selection is pretty good for a dive bar, and if they don't have it you can usually request it (just make sure if you request it, that you come back for it... lol). I have never had to wait for a beer here, as the bartenders are great! (Sandy on Tuesdays does an exceptional job!) They have everything you can ask for in "bar sports"... 4 pool tables, dart board, golden tee, video gaming, an internet jukebox and TVs everywhere. The pool tables here are free, but may be difficult to get on in the evening depending on if there is league play going on. (Bring your A game.) I do have to say that the owner does a great job running this place and making his patrons happy. He can be seen here often and is very friendly. He organizes various events, from game day giveaways to chili cook-offs. If you're in the area and looking for a cool spot to stop in for a drink, I would definitely stop in and check it out... you'll most likely be back! read more

As little neighborhood bars go, There is no better. Have been going to this little watering hole for some time now. They have adequate parking to start with. That's always a plus. It's always filled with neighborhood folks at any given time. An Dave the owner is always around for a Nascar conversation. They have four really nice diamond pool tables, An run APA matches every Mon,Wed,Sun The best thing about this place is Dave has it down to a science, He is one of the bar owners that has realized that you give a little you get a lot in return. During most of your major sports games, He always orders some pizza or has the grill fired up for some tasty game time treats. All the bartenders are very pleasant and are right there when you need them. With 2 large screen TV's and 4 30"'s you will never miss a game or a race. Went in during the day to check this place out ..Thought it was pretty nice and they have free pool tables.. Came back at nighttime with 5 friends.. They must have some sort of pool leagues there.. Once those finished me and my friends went to play pool on a empty table and we were told we couldn't because the people at the table next to it were betting money on a game and didn't want people walking past.. REALLY Bartender seemed very rude (unless she knew you) and seemed to have a few drinks in her as well.. Jukebox was playing nothing but swearing rap music over and over so we just left.. This is one of the best bars anywhere, recently remodeled, set up is fantastic and works whether your drinking, playing, darts, playing golf, or playing pool. I lost count of all the new tv's you can see a game no matter which way you look unless your looking at your feet! Great bartenders and one of the very best bar owners I've ever met. Nice little bar for the 'ole GH. It doesnt look like much from the road, but they have darts, a few pool tables, plenty of room inside, and cold beer. Parking in the front and back of the building is nice too. They have free pool and a pool league on certain nights which is great too. All in all, a nice little hidden gem on Bloomingdale Road. read more
