This restaurant is so cute and trendy! We did not have to wait very long for a seat, and they have a lot of seating outside. We ordered a bunch of things, and I got to try the asparagus scramble and the strawberry waffle. The waffle was really tasty if you are looking for something sweet. The scramble was pretty good as well, but it was a little liquidy from the asparagus cooking in. The only thing I might change is the amount of butter on the toast. I love butter, but there was a LOT of butter! My friends also seem to really enjoy the strawberry matcha, and said that it was more on the sour strawberry side.

Charming little venue in the heart of Sonoma! Dine us the garden patio for a tranquil experience. Thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful gem for brunch. Warm greetings and the friendliest staff brought out delicious and beautiful plates and beverages you will savor.

Stopped by for the first time and ordered to go. Staff was nice but waiting area is awkward - you'll have to wait in the front of the cafe. Coffee was good but would've liked a bit more coffee than milk. Tasty though!

I've been coming to this breakfast cafe for years and it's still so good. It can be a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the quality and service. We came as a party of 2 and ordered a lot, and everything was delicious. The drinks were really good too, the mimosas are a must. The vibes are giving backyard chilling in the best way. Super sweet spot, just come early because the lines can get long. Definitely worth the wait though.

This caught my eye as a popular, top reviewed breakfast spot in Sonoma, and I'm glad I got to check it out! The restaurant looks small at the front but opens up to a large, cute patio in the back. The patio is covered but feels bright and open, and with the recent cold weather, they had plenty space heaters around. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu steak and eggs, and I ordered the biscuit sandwich. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and he loved the crispy, rustic sourdough bread and potatoes on the side. The biscuit was large and fluffy, but was a little too soft for my liking; I also added bacon to the sandwich but it felt a little skimpy and the bacon was excessively fatty / chewy. This wasn't my favorite breakfast, but I also think I made the wrong choice for myself. My boyfriend's meal and all the other food around us looked delicious, and the ambiance was great, so I think this place is still 4 stars worthy!

We love a spot that uses local farm-fresh ingredients Gorgeous garden patio dining, flowers in the fountain, a great Spring spot overall. Staff was so friendly and attentive and I wish we had the stomach to eat more off the menu! But that's alright, just means we have to visit again, right?

Went here with my friend because its her favorite brunch place! The ambiance is outstanding! Especially outdoors plants, string lights. Heaters and shade add comfort and natural ambiance. I didn't order outside of my comfort zone because I was tracking meals so i got the American breakfast and a lavender latte and a side of almond croissant. Service was fast and friendly! We weren't rushed nor unattended. The food is great but would love try other options next time! I love my coffee as it hits the right spot! Not too sweet but also not too strong! Will definitely go back!

Sunflower cafe never disappoints! The ambience is so relaxing and every single person that works here is always welcoming and warm. They started making their own scones and they were to die for!! Best scone I've ever had. I thought the almond croissant was impressive but these scones shot to the top of my list immediately! We had breakfast biscuit sandwich, eggs Benedict, savory jalepeno cheddar scone and sweet caramel cashew scone. My husband got the tiramisu cloud drink and it was amazing: a dessert in itself.

This place was absolutely magical! I was hesitant about sitting outside because of how cold it was, but they had plenty of heaters and blankets. Everything looked so pretty and it felt really festive, I loved all the decor. The service was really fast and friendly. The food was delicious, I really loved my waffle. I got a plain latte which was good, but if I go again I'd love to try one if the flavored drinks. There's also plenty of parking around and they had a nice bathroom.

Cute little spot in Sonoma square! They have a cute inside area & adorable outside area with heaters when cold. Service was great! From when we arrived to being seated everyone was super nice & helpful. We started with iced vanilla latte. It was very good and not to sweet. Then I got a bacon pecan waffle it was very tasty and good balance between salty & sweet. Hubby got the grilled chicken avocado grilled cheese. It was definitely shareable and super tasty. Will definetly be back soon.

I recently ate here with my mom for Mother's Day, and this is by far one of my favorite brunch spots. Not only are the drinks fantastic, I got the strawberry Matcha, the food is also very fresh & the service is quick. We decided to sit inside because it was a short wait, but had regrets bc the outside garden looks majestic. I had the salmon Benedict and it was very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend coming to Sunflower Caffe!

Steak tartare to savor over as well as their pickled caperberries, offered something different to cornichons and complimented well with the steak tartare. Duck confit was to be delved into! They know how to make the duck confit still juicy and tender! I adore the corn ragout, pickled alliums, squash and sweet peppers all mixed together and laid underneath the duck confit. It's a unique dish and a signature entree one must order! I haven't tasted anything like this before. Their iron steak could be replaced with something else. I do like their frites on this entree but they could have upped their game by providing gratin instead (which they have on their menu only as a side) with the steak. Adored their gratin. I would not wait a month + for a reservation here for a weekend. We were sat outside as it was a beautiful August night. They do have a few heating lamps if you are worried about it being too cold. We sat for around 20 minutes + without anyone noticing us or stopping in. One gentleman stopped by to ask for our drink orders and said our waitress would be with us soon. It did appear that 2 folks were manning the full packed outdoor patio on a Friday night, definitely an oversight. When we finally realized who our waitress was, we realized she had stopped in 2-3 times to the table to left of us, which was like 3 inches away from us. I totally get a waitress being busy but it would have been awesome for her to stop in and just let us know she would be back. Our drinks came out another 10 minutes later and the dirty martini was solid but the fig old fashion was pretty lack luster. When our waitress finally came, we ordered tomato soup and the halloumi for appetizer, along with sharing the burger. The soup was quite good and they did bring extra crackers for us which was a nice touch. They completely forgot our halloumi and normally you would be able to find your waitress and ask about it - not here. We waited another 25 minutes until we saw her again and by that time, our burger had come out. Now our burger was decent but nothing special at all, In-N-Out has a better burger. As we sat and waited to get the check, we realized we had been at dinner for over 2 hours and had gotten one drink, 1 app (missing second), and one meal in the time. When we asked for our check, our waitress disappeared for another 20 minutes, pushing the meal to over 2+ hours. She did kindly come with a cookie with a candle for my birthday, which was very sweet but we were at a point in the meal that we were just ready to leave. On top of that, we saw a rat running along the top of the fence during the meal which fell into the patio side of the restaurant. I understand we are outside but definitely not pleasant to see when you are sitting at dinner.

I will be thinking about the texture of this pasta + the pistachio pesto for a long time. They kept the corn pudding of the original dish at the bottom and it was such a good combination of flavors. I got chicken added on top. I got an espresso martini with gin; pretty good, just wished there was a bit more espresso flavor. Probably would order one of their house cocktails instead next time. Lastly we had the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream and a pine nut/pistachio brittle. Unlike any other cobbler I've ever had. Perfection of different textures. After just 15 minutes on our table they were stale. Bambie ordered salmon. Nice hunk, probably 7 ounces. Pink and fleshy. Moist. Gently cooked. Sides were garden fresh vegetables. I ate the 1/2 chicken. Airline cut. It was a little pullet, maybe 6 ounces. Cooked well. The spicy red sauce that was under the bird was outstanding. I'd be perfectly happy to have a plate of spaghetti with this sauce. The crunchy fingerling potatoes were fun at first, but as the meal went on I couldn't finish them. They were too oily and too salty. Dessert was the recommended cheesecake. Righteous. The exterior of the big slice had a mild Crème brûlée texture and the cake itself was a heavenly cloud. The poached strawberries were the perfect accompaniment. So, is this a 5 star meal & experience? No. i put it in the casual sort'a fine dining box. Last night I ate at The Girl and the Fig on the Sonoma town square. That meal was much more delicious for significantly less money. Tourists who are overly impressed with Michael Mina will be happy here. Locals like me who grew up eating at Sondra Bernstein's several restaurants over the years will be even happier.

The biggest issue was that a mandatory 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. If you're going to require guests to pay a 20% tip regardless of the experience, the service should at least meet that standard. Unfortunately, it didn't. Our server, Chloe, seemed far more occupied with spending time in the kitchen or attending to guests seated outside than checking on our table. We were dining inside, where the restaurant was nearly empty, yet she would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time, leaving us with no way to ask for refills, order additional drinks, or get simple questions answered. To make matters worse, our wine glasses arrived visibly dirty. We pointed it out, but they were never replaced. That's a basic service expectation at any restaurant, especially one at this price point. She also volunteered recommendations for her "favorite" dishes, despite us never asking for suggestions--and they happened to be among the most expensive items on the menu. It felt more like upselling than genuine hospitality. The kitchen deserves credit because the food was genuinely very good. But great food can't make up for inattentive service, especially when guests have no choice but to pay a mandatory 20% gratuity. If Layla is going to automatically add a 20% tip, then they should ensure the service earns it--not simply collect it regardless of how poor the experience is.
