After driving all the way there, the staff told me it was a mistake and that they actually didn't have them. Very frustrating and a complete waste of time. I went into the Alderwood Sunglass Hut. I was going to buy myself a Christmas present. I knew I was going to lay down at least $300 dollars. I was the only customer (my business calls them guests and treats them as such) in the store. The was a female employee behind the counter. She never looked at me or acknowledged me. I walked all around the store and spent a good amount of time shopping, looking at brands and prices. Still not a peep from the clerk. I decided the had obviously made enough money that day and didn't need mine so I left. No goodbye, or thank you. I walked about 2 stores away and decided oh hell no. I went back to the store and asked the clerk what her name was. She told me LAUREN. If you are her boss it was the evening of 12/20/23 and she said her name was LAUREN!!' While on a cruise I bought a pair of sunglasses from a Sunglasses Hut in Mexico that I was told were polarized. I didn't realize until after the ship had left port that they weren't. Once I was back in the US I called the 1-800 number and was told I could return them to a store within 30 days for store credit for a new pair as long as they were in good condition. We there right when they opened and was ignored by the associate for nearly 10 minutes (I believe he is the same African American associate mentioned in some of the other reviews). When he finally decided to acknowledge our presence he told us that the customer service was wrong and he can't take them back. I tried asking for any other solution but was repeatedly told no. A quick call to the Tulalip store and they told me they absolutely could and that as long as they were in good shape (which they are, only worn for a few hours which the lazy alderwood employee couldn't even be bothered to check) that they will be able to do something. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered. Purchased two pairs of sunglasses during a buy one get the second pair half off, sale. Went home tried both pairs on again and decided against one pair. The next day I Came in to exchange the one pair but didn't find anything so I wanted to return the one pair. Dom first said no returns at all, then after arguing and being so rude and condescending wanted to return only 50% what I actually paid for the pair. No matter what I said No matter what calculations I did to show him that he was wrong he did not care to hear, did not care to help me, refused to even try and just kept saying I need to leave and either I get the 50% less than what I actually paid for the pair or leave the store. I understood the Buy one Get the Second half off deal but he was either short on sales and goes against his commission sales or simply wanted to cash in the 50% I wasn't getting and I strongly believe he is doing something shady at this business. I went to another location and without any hesitations gave me a refund I was owed. I read thru some of these reviews and not shocked how many bad reviews he has but I am shocked he still has this job. Obviously his upper management is not reading these reviews or they are desperate to keep him. I am warning you ,if you see Dom and he is the only one there leave immediately. If you ever need to come back to return and exchange he will belittle you he will make you so uncomfortable he will refuse to help you and he will have a smirk on his face. Beware of this Sunglasses Hut location. Customer service is greasy beyond imagination. Danny started upselling the moment I stepped into the store even though I knew I wanted to do an even exchange. Then when I finally was able to rebuff his advances, he examined my sunglasses, with original packaging and proof of purchase less than 3 weeks prior, he said they were too damaged to be accepted and I could only get 50% off a new pair. Mind you, my sunglasses were in pristine condition since they'd just been sitting in its case waiting to be returned. He said there was a small scratch on one of the lenses. I ordered pair of Oakleys last thursday for a pick up at the Alderwood Mall Sunglass Hut. I wrote for pick up my husband and I. On Saturday I came back positive for covid. I called the store to arrange for a friend of mine to pick it up instead .. I could of easy went their being sick and spread it to other people. I chose to be responsible and didn't do that. Store manager Dawn aren't letting my friend to do a pick up for me even though she will have all my information and even an email with the order number. During this pandemic stores like this need to be customer service friendly and make this kind of exceptions especially during covid when people trying to be responsible. Beware of the store manager, Dom. I have purchased sunglasses from Sunglass Hut on many prior occasions. On this occasion, I tried to return a pair of sunglasses that I never wore (apart from tying them on) and Dom insisted that I scratched the lenses. I literally NEVER wore them apart from trying them on at home. He was quite rude and dismissive of me. Of note, this Sunglass Hut has a total of 18 reviews (including mine) and 8 of them have been scathing reviews of Dom (2 of the reviews are very similar to mine - See review by Averie P. and Alex L.). Interestingly enough, I went to a different Sunglass Hut and the manager inspected the sunglasses carefully, did not see any scratch (I couldn't see one either) and gladly returned them. It seems that Dom is scamming customers out of legitimate returns in order to show higher sales for his store. Disgusting. I will NEVER shop at this Sunglass Hut again and unless you are 100% sure you will never need to return anything to this store I would discourage you from shopping here. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. If you do decide to purchase sunglasses from here, completely check them before purchasing!!! My fiancé and I bought sunglasses on 7/4/21 at 4pm. After getting home we noticed that there were blemishes and scratches all over them. The very next morning we waited outside the store until they opened at 11am, to either return or exchange them. When we got there at 10:58, the MANAGER was just starting to open the store, and didn't let us in until 11:05, and from the get go we could tell he had a horrible attitude (didn't welcome us in or say ANYTHING at all) He immediately told us that he would not accept the glasses without even asking to look at them. He told us that their store's policy was that they could not accept scratched sunglasses for returns or exchanges, and then contradicted everything he said and said sometimes they/he makes exceptions? The sale associate that sold us the glasses didn't bother to mention to us that she was selling us a display pair, and after we told the MANAGER that they sold us scratched glasses, he said "I trained my sale associates to not sell damaged glasses" and implied that we were lying because we didn't notice ALL the scratches that were on the glasses. He was EXTREMELY rude and passive aggressive the whole time, offering ZERO solutions. We asked for the district manager's number, and he refused to give it to us. He continued to say that his associates don't sell scratched sunglasses every time we told him that the sunglasses were not even worn once. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would because this is hands down the worst customer service my fiancé and I have ever experienced! Also want to add that the two sale associates that sold us the glasses were both extremely rude as well and acted as though we were an inconvenience and had unwelcoming facial expressions the whole time (and they also didn't welcome us in or say anything at all). DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LOCATION. Bought a pair of Burberry sunglasses as a gift from this location, big mistake. I ended up getting a different pair for the gift and went back to return these sunglasses. The store manager Dom examined them for a good minute and found the tiniest scratch mark on the inside of the frame that's only visible in certain lighting. After telling me I can't return them, he then said "just wear them, you bought them". Obviously I didn't buy them to wear them myself because they were a gift. Before they were sold to me, they weren't inspected by the employee who processed the sale, and I didn't think to double check the sunglasses myself because I had no clue I'd ever be put in this situation. The only time they were even taken out of the box was in store to try them on, so I know that wasn't from me. I was just going to call American Express to let them deal with it and get my money back, but I decided to go to the sunglass hut in Bellevue and told them what happened at this location. They were extremely understanding of the situation and apologized for the circumstance Dom put me in and they thought it was ridiculous. I returned them without an issue there. I should have checked the reviews of this place, because many people have been complaining about the manager and had similar experiences. I hope this place goes out of business. They had a badly scratched pair of glasses in store but offered to order it online which is fine. Then the price was less on the in store pair but they would not honor that price.. ok not great but will still order it. Then the pair that came from online was a lighter lens than the pair in store so I brought it back only to be told it wasn't re-sellable because it had some non-existent smudges on the lens.. so even though it was still within the return timeframe and in GREAT condition the dude tried to tell me only store credit or an exchange. Total experience was awful. No greeting when I walked in..whatever, but he was on the phone with a personal call and the only other person in the store was "hanging out with him" not a customer. Even some kids walked in and he talked to them(asked them why they weren't in school) before he helped me. SO RUDE. Sunglass Hut is the worst. I grew up buying oakley's here whenever I needed a new pair. Fast forward a decade and this place is clearly gasping for air - the quality of Oakley's went way down since Sunglass Hut acquired them. Now Sunglass hut is sleazy like a used car dealership - you pay for a brand new pair of glasses and what you get is the display model which god knows how many people have handled. Then if you walk out of the store and try to return them next day they will twist in the wind to avoid taking the return - looking for any reason to deny you. Display model had an imperfection you didn't notice when they sold you? they will reject the return and blame you. Didn't provide them an email when you purchased? they will deny the return. They try to enforce all sorts of stipulations that are nowhere in their return policy - and like a used car dealership their motto seems to be 'say whatever to get the sale, then refuse to stand behind it' Corporate complaints go nowhere, and in store staff are pushy, disinterested, hostile, and/or socially inept. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. Want designer brands? go to Nordstroms, performance brands? go to REI. Want Sunglass Hut style experience? buy glasses from that shady guy selling knockoffs from a blanket on the sidewalk - it'll still be better, and at least he doesn't pretend to have a return policy. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR SUNGLASS' HERE! HORRIBLE SERVICE! There's, what seems like, only one guy who works at the Sunglass Hut in Macy's, I was so angry I didn't even get his name... my fiance and I never could really afford nice sunglasses, I would rather have a place to live then nice sunglasses LOL. But my fiance's father passed away a couple of years ago , and he got a little bit of money from what his dads life insurance, you know, "treat yourself" :) So,don't get me wrong we love Macy's! They have the best sales and usually really awesome sales representatives, but every time I go over to the sunglasses this Asian dude who seems like he works there 24/7 never seems to care about his sales, never smiles when people crack jokes, and/or try to make conversation, but we decided to buy there because again, we love Macy's. Both me and my fiance bought our own separate sunglasses which probably totaled around $350 - $400. When you spend that kind of money you expect exceptional service, especially when Sunglass Hut returns and exchanges, and I exactly quote: "You can return and exchange any sunglasses within the 90 days",we even had our original receipt, case, cloth and everythingb "no questions asked." When my boyfriend bought his sunglasses and got to the car he put them on and Allen's kind of popped out, but we're so used to crappy sunglasses he thought maybe if he just popped it in it would stay in but they kept popping out over and over and over and meanwhile my Michael Kors sunglasses loosened faster than any of the cheap sunglasses I've ever bought, they don't even offer repair kits at this Sunglass Hut. So, we came in a week or two later, way before the exchange deadline. We expected to go in and at least get an exchange no-questions-asked like it says and then we just get, unfortunately, the same salesperson, and he all the sudden says that we can't exchange our glasses or get money back for them so we tell him to call the manager he called the manager and the manager asked if there's scratches on the lenses, mind you we just got these glasses and took very good care of it the only thing we ever did with pop that stupid lens back in. The Sunglass Hut worker while talking on the phone with his manager sad quote Oh I don't know if they're scratches let me check, so he precedes to wipe the sunglasses wipe them over and over and over because there's no freaking scratches at all maybe the most miniscule one and that's from us having to pop the lens back in it was the tiny scratch he probably scratched it with his nail. So we get the manager to come down and the manager goes sorry we can only do the 50% replacement and we said no he sold us defective glasses you have video tapes can we go watch the video tapes and see if your employee did a check on the glasses to see if there are faulty before he sold them. This manager took nothing we said into consideration and just kept saying sorry we can do the 50% replacement. They didn't budge until we had to, of course- and unfortunately, say well we need to get your corporate office info so we can pass that along to our attorney. Luckily my fiance's uncle is a lawyer and coincidently is coming into town soon, and this employee and his super unprofessional manager who doesn't give a crap about his customers - who, mind you, spend hundreds of dollars on sunglasses even though they have to deal with this clueless employee, who really just seems bored, uncaring, and way too lazy to do some research on the products he sells basically 24/7.
