Came in with the intention of getting a new pair of sunglasses and overall it was a positive experience but I wouldn't necessarily come back. It was nice to be able to see the large selection of glasses they have and try them on but there is no longer any cleaning procedure that seems to be occurring after pairs are tried on. I tried on a few pairs before purchasing a couple and I intentionally put the ones I tried on but did not buy to the side but rather than cleaning them, the sales associate just had me put them back in stock. I just felt a little uncomfortable thinking about how many people must have tried on those glasses before I did. Service was average - nothing that blew my socks off but the sales associate was nice and greeted everyone upon arrival. read more

Ordered a pair of ray ban metas online that I ended up not liking so I exchanged them for another pair. Ended up returning them because they make one size only and they didn't fit my head. The return and exchange process was somewhat complicated but done by Nicole. She was very helpful explaining things and easy to work with. Raye and Angel were both really nice as well. read more

She was able to upsell me from one pair of glasses to three. She is intelligent, kind and we will be back! If you want a good deal and you want a kind and easy sales person. Customer service is often lost these days, but if you happen to work with Ashley B. In the San Luis store you will not be disappointed. I lost my favorite pair of sunglasses and I called Sunglass Hut in SLO and was lucky enough to get Ashley on the phone. I purchased them over a year ago, she looked and my order was no longer in their system. She asked for my phone number so she could dig a little deeper in her system and call me back. When she called back she said she couldn't find my order but if I could text her a pic of me wearing the glasses, she would could possibly find the style. She called back and the glasses are no longer available through Sunglass Hut, but she did give me the model number and I looked for them online. I purchased a pair through another website, but I will always be so appreciative to Ashley for taking the time to help me. She's a gem!!! read more

I dropped my sunglasses at the ice cream parlor a couple minutes beforehand, and a screw came out of one of the arms which connected the frame to the arms of the sunglasses. I went in to exchange a pair of sunglasses and get a separate pair adjusted. Adriana was incredibly knowledgeable about the store's inventory and recommended the pair that I ended up getting. Jacob worked diligently to fix the pair that needed adjustment, and when that didn't quite work, Nicole stepped in to offer a solution. Really nice service! A lady named Riley and another lady who I didn't get the name of were kind enough to fix my sunglasses free of charge.

I bought a pair of sunglasses and attempted to exchange them a week later, the lady was less than helpful and rather rude, they say that they have a 90 day satisfaction guarantee but that's not true, it's only 90 days if the glasses have essentially been unworn. I wouldn't have any issue if the lady working hadn't been condescending and rather blameful, I'm sorry but 130 dollar sunglasses shouldn't scratch when they've only been worn and then placed in their storage bag when not in use. I will be going straight to the company that made the glasses and hope they will be more helpful. read more

I dropped and scratched some sunglasses I had bought there a month earlier and they gave me a new pair no questions asked. Very impressed.

Had three different and distinct experiences with this store in the past 60 days and wanted to share with y'all yelpers. Started off by needing to return a pair of shades bought for me as a gift from an out-of-area store and I didn't have the receipt handy. The gal helping tried to track down purchase info from the details I had, i.e. store, date of original purchase, name of original purchaser. They were able to find the purchase information of another glasses bought at the same time, on the same day, but could not confirm the shades I had were apart of that transaction...? Bummer, especially because i know they were purchased at the same time(my sister is wearing hers today...). Perhaps time for SH to update to new millennium purchase logging software and integrate store-to-store capabilities like many other national retailers do... When I finally did track down the receipt from sister in Boston, the same sales-gal did help me out with the return and new pair, ensuring to take my contact information should this happen again. Service was just fine. Final experience came after I smashed my face snowboarding and subsequently broke the temple of my new favorite pair of spectacles. I had the manufacturer send me a replacement and went in to see if the could help with the swap. Because I bent the hinges up pretty good, a straight swap and perfect fit wasn't happening. James, the gentlemen in the store on this day, was very helpful and tried a bunch of different tricks to get the arm as tight as possible and correct the bent positioning of the glasses. I didn't expect him to work miracles, i understand that deep down he is no eyewear-mechanic, but just a sales person. He gave it a good run and I was thankful for his time anyhow. Glasses are almost perfect, good enough compared to the shape they were in before the snow-to-face contact. Especially because of James' service, I will return when thinking about purchasing new specs. Thanks James! read more

When I went in to get a pair of sunglasses, they had the style I wanted but they didn't have any in stock that were polarized. When I asked if they had any, she told me a shipment would be in soon and that I could buy a pair of sunglasses and simply exchange them when they got in. Strange and opposite of what I would expect. I went in, with my four-year-old in tow. I was trying on a few pairs of glasses, after not even being greeted by the store person. My son was going along with me and was trying on a few pairs of glasses as well. He was putting them back very carefully and it didn't seem like any type of a big deal to me. As I was deciding which glasses to buy, the store person comes up to me and informs me in a really weird and rude way that my son was trying on glasses. My immediate response to her: "oh excuse me, was I shopping in your store? That will never happen again." Gross. read more

I just got Lasik last week. After wearing glasses since I was two years old, the one thing I was most excited about after the surgery was rewarding myself with my first pair of designer sunglasses since I can finally wear non prescription sunglasses to drive, etc. I walked into this store with the intention of making a purchase (and even found a pair of Prada sunglasses I loved), but I was so put off by the lack of service that I was insulted and eventually left without buying anything. When I first walked in with my friend, we were the only customers in the store, and neither of the two female employees even bothered to greet us. However, a minute later, a group of men walked in, and not only did they get a greeting, but they were also told about the storewide specials and then they were offered assistance. The men all left the store without purchasing anything and I was still browsing. The employees still didn't bother to address me. I loudly said to my friend that I was interested in that one pair of sunglasses I loved. Still nothing from the employees. It was like I was invisible. I couldn't even make eye contact with them. So I walked out of the store and called, "Thank you for the help!" Surprisingly, they COULD hear me and one of the women actually replied, "Have a nice day!" That was sweet of her. read more

I have been buying sunglasses at this Sunglass Hut since they opened 10-12 years ago. They always have a great selection and styles that work. These are not cheap sunglasses although sometimes they have good sale merch. But my recent experience has put them over the top. I bought a new pair of Ray Bans that looked great, but apparently are of questionable design; held together at crucial joints by tiny TINY little screws. I brought them back for a tighten up after six weeks. They just exchanged for a new pair of glasses; without a receipt. Impressive. After three more weeks the newer glasses fell apart at the nose piece. I brought them back and again they exchanged for a brand new pair without a receipt (although the Amazing Nicole remembered by previous visit). This time, however, I exchanged for a better design. This Sunglass Hut will be my one and only go to for sunglasses from now on. read more

I walked into the San Luis Obispo Sunglass Hut very hopeful to walk out with a pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses that I had been eyeing for a while. When I was ready to check out, the saleswoman working told me that the only pair left of the ones I wanted, were the display pair. She convinced me that they were better than ones in the box anyway because sometimes the boxes scratch them. After trying to convince me to just buy the ones off the floor, I felt very disappointed and decided to just wait and buy them on SunglassHut.com instead so I could get a brand new pair and not one that every customer had been handling for who knows how long. When I told her I didn't want them and that I would purchase them on their website instead, she immediately stopped what she was doing, rolled her eyes in my face, and gave me the rudest look ever. It was unreal. I couldn't believe I was treated that way, and especially for something that is completely not my fault. The store should keep more sunglasses in stock so that customers can walk out of the store with an actual NEW pair and not feel guilty and judged for NOT choosing a pair that has been collecting dust on the shelf. read more
