I had a great experience here... Tom was very helpful and friendly. My backlight was out and after I went to Auto Zone, they told me I had to take it to an auto shop and would probably cost me a couple of hundred bucks. When I took my car to Sunland, Tom was able to replace the light bulb and save me money! He said the guy probably didn't try hard enough to remove the light bulb. I've been taking my car here for years. I have an older Mitsubishi Montero, runs great thanks to Sunland. They have done necessary work, not like other auto repair shops. Their service is awesome. I live nearby and have gotten rides to and fro, which has helped me immensely. I recently had a major problem, even had to have it towed there. They diligently repaired it. First time customer. They exceeded my expectations for service and price. Had a steering issue and stopped in about an hour after opening without a prior appointment. They were fairly busy, with most of the bays already occupied. Received an initial diagnosis and estimate. Was told they would contact me after they had a chance to give it a more detailed inspection and offered a shuttle ride home. Received the call about 3 hours later, not with a list of add-ons or up-sales, but that my vehicle was finished, everything else looked good, with another offer of a shuttle for pick up. Wish I could give this place a higher rating! They are Wonderful! Honest, respectful, hard-working - old-fashioned values that you just don't find anymore. Took our Dodge in yesterday because my husband heard some noises and thought it was running rough. Of Course the car didn't act that way for the mechanics! Lol! They had the car for the day, road-tested it several times, checked it out thoroughly, and didn't find anything. Last time that happened, we were told (by Another place) that we needed a new alternator - which didn't fix the issue of course (it ended up being the transmission that time :-( The "other place" told us oh well, it needed an alternator anyway. Um...no!) So Sunland Could have told us the car needed a tune-up or Something - and we probably would have gone for it. I mean, you're kinda at a disadvantage when it comes to things you know nothing about, right? But instead, Scott said he just couldn't find anything wrong. When I asked what I owed - hey, time is money and I was figuring on at Least a diagnostic fee - he said "nothing" and shook my hand! I was floored! this place is the best. don't go anywhere else. they are great mechanics and unbelievably honest. they fix all our cars. twice I brought my car in thinking I knew the problems. both times I was wrong. first time they sent me on my way for no charge. second time I thought it was going to cost me at least $600 to replace the alternator as I was told by a different mechanic. they said nope just a battery. they replaced it and saved me a bunch of money. before we found them we took a car to a different mechanic who quoted us $1,400 for some work. someone recommended Sunland to us so we took it to them and got charged $181. all true and I am not related. Scott comes through AGAIN! After getting some repairs done to get my 2005 GMC Yukon road worthy for a 20 hour round way road trip, on the day we were packed and leaving town, the oil pressure gauge on my Yukon was moving between 0 and 10 PSI. I called considerably distressed and even though they were very busy, Scott told me to bring it in. He connected the scanner and it read 6.95 PSI. He strongly suggested I take another vehicle if possible since there was obviously something wrong and they couldn't fix it before I could leave early the next morning. They almost took me for over $6000! I brought in a recently purchased used 2012 Ford F-150 because there was a 'knock' when taking off from a stop. I told them I looked online and this seems to be a common issue that the slip yoke just needs to be greased. They smugly dismissed my 'google diagnosis'. My son and wife had used them a couple times previously so I went ahead and left it for them to do a free diagnosis. After their 'diagnosis' by their self-proclaimed 'transmission guy' they said the transmission was bad and a replacement transmission was going to cost over $6000 and asked if I'd like to start that repair. I declined and drove the truck home to take time to think about what to do. After many weeks I decided to call my nearby Ford Dealer and ask them how much they'd charge to just grease the slip yoke. "30 dollars". I asked "$30?" to make sure I heard him right. "Yep 30 bucks - we do them all the time." I knew from my research that there was also a rubber boot that was called for by a Ford TSB so after all was said and done, the repair cost me $60. The second I drove away I knew it was fixed - no more thunk when taking off. I have now driven the vehicle for a couple months and it runs perfectly. Don't be suckered by good reviews - get multiple opinions and do your own research online and use a different repair shop that takes the time to make sure that you really need that $6000 repair. They could have greased the slip yoke like I suggested in 15 minutes. read more

They called when they said they would, they explained everything they were doing, and with a sense of humor about it as well. The shuttle to work was a very welcome amenity, too, Mike was a very friendly driver.. Most impressive? My car had failed emissions, so it was in there to get a few things repaired to help it pass. I was dreading another long line at the testing station. To my surprise, they took the car through for me, something I never expected. New owner is using the good reputation of the original owner to shake people down. Went here for years and when the new owner took over kept going for over a year. Last time I was in they let the air out of of my tires (checked air at digital pump week before after a long trip-all good) and then they gave me a 10 minute talk about how if my car "rides a little funny" or "pulls on the road" to bring it back because it probably needs an alignment or could be more serious issues. Really??? Of course the next morning on my way to work my car was all over the road, went to the digital air machine and they had let about 5 pds out of 3 and 13pds!! out of 1 front tire. Old rip off trick. I may be a girl but not near that stupid. Aired up and car has been fine ever since. Don't fall for their BS! SAD that they are now like most other places.
