I signed my solar install contract with Save a Lot Solar, but Sunlight Electri-Cal was vendor that actually handled the install. I can only speak to the install process with Sunlight and cannot speak to their sales team, etc. My install was in April and it took 2 days to complete the project. Day 1 was focused removing my existing 40 panel 8.6kW system from 2012. They were very careful in removing the existing panel and rails and strived to make as few penetrations on the roof as possible. They started installing my new 42 panel 17kW system on Day 1, but it was mostly done on Day 2. I was working from home during the 2 days of install and Sunlight was very communicative any time I came to check on the work and answered all of my many questions. Near the end of the install, they ran into some issues where not all 42 panels were registering on the Enphase Enlighten portal. They did not leave until all panels showed up in the system even if that meant that they had to double check that the firmware was updated on all of the microinverters and even had to do a full reset to make everything re-register to the portal. I really appreciated their thoroughness. Overall, I had a very positive experience with them and would not hesitate to use them again! read more

My inverter stopped working. Fortunately for us we live within the service boundry of Sunlight. They quickly contacted me by text and phone with their service charge to check my system. They were here as planned and quickly assessed my problem. They were able to order a new updated inverter and sent the paperwork by phone. Juan and Carlos came out and worked with me on two estimates, one for a ground mount system and one for a roof mount system. I felt like they educated me on the hardware options available (I was sure I wanted batteries but didn't know what brand, size, etc). Juan was very hands on as we worked through the estimates and signed the contract. Sunlight took care of all the permitting and started install about two months after signing the contracts. Install took 3 days for a relatively complicated system (roof top panels, moving most of the household breakers into a backup panel, building a freestanding battery mount system and installing three battery units). Activation took an additional week, and permission to operate took about two more months (this step is completely dependent on PG&E processing the paperwork). The system has worked great and exactly as advertised. We had an unrelated electrical problem a couple hours after they turned everything on and they immediately came out and resolved it. Wow. Sunlight Electric-Cal (Carlos and his team) is an *excellent* company to work with and I would give them 6 stars if I could. My wife and I decided to install solar on our South Bay house, so we got 5 quotes. We selected Sunlight Electric-Cal because they are a small tightly run company and while they were not cheaper, their commitment to deliver was obvious from the get go. Read below! (Long) - so I wanted an over-limit sized Solar array to charge 2 batteries and simultaneously run the house. I wanted Franklin's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery which has better whole-home lifetime than Tesla's car battery. Sunlight Electric-Cal provided the flexibility and committed to run the permits, the paperwork, including the PG&E 'ok to operate'. Now heres the good part. Besides solar panels and batteries, our installation included [] rewiring our main electrical panel [] adding sub panel for the batteries [] adding EnPhase panel box, and Franklin control panel. Sunlight Electric-Cal completed this and had the solar panels, electrical system, batteries, new wiring installed and operational in one day (!). The city Inspector found only one ground wire he wanted added. The company obtained PG&E ok-to-run in less than a month - I didn't have to work with PG&E. Later, we discovered one circuit that wasn't working - Sunlight Electric-Cal came out the next day and fixed it.
