I made an appointment for my daughter and myself to have a mother daughter mani pedi. We weren't even seated together. Didn't get the person I requested. Guy did a mediocre job on my hands and feet. Actually missed a spot on my toe. Massage was odd. More of a light rub than a massage. Almost asked him "what are you doing?" They texted me before 7:00 AM on a Saturday to remind me of my appointment. Text woke me up. Then called me 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment and asked me if I was coming and for me to come on in. I was driving in from Brentwood. I wrote to them on Saturday to give them my concerns and tell them I was disappointed. This was in response to a text they sent me asking how my visit was. They haven't bothered to respond to me 5 days later... So here you go. My review. Find a place that will honor your requests. And will respect that you want to sit with your friend/daughter. Came here for the first time and it's safe to say I will not be back. By the time I left, I was bleeding on three different fingers. The guy doing my nails didn't even try to clean them. I had to ask him to put medicine on them after about 30 seconds of just sitting there bleeding. I got a simple gel manicure and didn't have anything on my nails beforehand. Came in just after 9am on a Friday and was the first customer of the day! Staff was very friendly right away. I picked the honey sugar scrub pedi since it's sandal season now and my feet have been a bit neglected over the winter! It's a nicely decorated salon with a good selection of color choices. Some nail salons feel a bit awkward to me, but I felt comfortable in here. The massage chairs are a bit better than those I've experienced previously! I visited Sunlight Nails earlier this week and had a manicure and pedicure. I moved to the side of town recently and was trying to find a new shop. The manicure and pedicure themselves were OK but I had a problem in the way that they take payments. Just before my manicure was finished, I was handed a tablet with the woman standing right over me, holding the other side, asking me to pay and submit the tip. I didn't see a spot where you make a custom tip and the minimum was 20% which if I would've been really happy with the work that was done, it would not have been a problem. It was very awkward. I've visited this salon numerous times before. Service has always been average but the pedicure massage is always a highlight. They must have new staff but I don't plan on coming back. I had a female doing my pedicure today where previously I've had male staff. I don't know her name because no one was wearing name tags. I made an appointment and was able to walk straight back. When handed the sheet to select my pedicure I was planning to do the #2 for $38 but noticed there was lavender in the scrub which Im severely allergic to. So i asked if there was a substitute. She didn't understand me and just kept repeating the word lavender. Another customer asked her girl if she understood what I was saying. She did not. 3 people were asked and no one knew enough English to understand or help. So sadly I had to pick the basic pedicure even though I was looking forward to some of the features in the other option. But I didn't want to jump into the $40 range for today. I asked for my toenails to be cut down all the way. Which they weren't. Had to have her go back and cut more. They're still not at short as I'd like but it clearly wasn't worth asking again because she didn't understand. The massage was so light I barely felt it. The massage chairs are outdated and don't work well either. I've now finished my service and instead of having me sit under the ultraviolet light to dry I'm left sitting in the chair with no timeline no did they put my flip flops on like usual. She's already moved on to 2 additional clients in the time it's taken me to write this review. No clue if I'll be charged properly or if she'll come back to help with my flip flops so i guess I'll update after I leave. *update* Had to file one of my toes and use a pumice stone for followup help when I got home. read more

I happened to be in the area for a meeting and needed a manicure and a pedicure in a bad, bad way so I popped into Sunlight Nails for a little TLC. Let's just say that I received a decent manicure and pedicure without any of the above. My nail tech was efficient albeit aloof but could be a little more customer service driven. It felt as if she was rushing me through the process although they were on the slow side. Little things not offering to move my purse and shoes for me to the drying area while my nails were still wet stood out like a sore thumb. Isn't this pretty much a standard in nail salons? Sunlight did offer a nice color assortment with their nail polish selection and their prices were cheap. I personally would rather pay a little more for better service and perks like a refreshment during my visit. Where do I begin? First off, I went in at 10am because I figured it wouldn't be busy then but they asked me to come back in an hour. I had the day off from work and I live down the street so that was no problem. I did as they asked and came back an hour later but when I returned the lady yelled at me for not calling before I came back (she did not ask for me to call). That was a bit off-putting but whatever. I sit down and wait for about 30 mins. Finally it's my turn, and the lady begins. I was really hopeful but I was quickly disappointed. Also just a side note, I do my own nails, I'm not the best but I'm good at it. However I wanted to RELAX so I went to get them done. This service was anything but relaxing. The lady who did my nails (not sure her name) clearly has no idea what she is doing. She made her acrylic beads way too runny and used entirely too much acrylic powder which then resulted with it getting all over my fingers. Then she made my nails way too thin. Like they're barely thicker than my natural nail. The shape was awful, like so bad I wanted to ask her to just stop and take the nails off. But I was trying to trust the process and not be so picky so I let her continue. For reference, I asked for medium length coffin shaped nails. Finally she's almost finished and the only thing left is for her to paint my nails. They collect payment before the service is done so she finished the acrylic portion then went to charge my card. I paid and as the ladies were charging my card I finally got to look at my nails in depth and I literally wanted to scream. The reason I was getting them done is because I was going on vacation the next day and wanted them done. I was livid... they were probably some of the most disgusting nails I've ever seen. When she came back I said I was just going to leave without her painting them. I was really just trying to get out of there without losing my shit so I just kept saying no, no color. And they just kept asking me why so finally I said "I hate these nails and I need to go home and fix them" Then on the way home 2 nails broke. So when I got home I totally reshaped the nails and redid the two nails that broke on the way home. I didn't have time to paint them before my trip then about an hour into my trip I broke another nail and didn't bring my nail stuff with me to fix my nails in case one broke. Silly me. So long story short, If you don't value your money or time then this is a wonderful spot for you to get your nails done! Yes the prices are better than most places but the service and product is honestly just total shit so make your pick. read more

Came in during the week to have my gel manicure removed. From the start they were very rude bossy and constantly speaking a different language and laughing. The tool that she used to get to sand down my gel was too hot and I kept telling her it was hurting me and she kept going. Then she had a paper towel and acetone and had me stick my hand in there and wait for the gel to come off. My favorite part was when she openly coughed on top of my hands and didn't even say excuse me or I'm sorry. She was very rough and annoyed with me even being there which led me to believe that she was talking about me to the other ladies in the salon. Then they moved me again saying they would get me started fast. I waited more. Then they took another woman who walked in. Then they moved me again a 3rd time. When I started to ask questions, they got three different people who were working on these other women who came in after me, to stop working on them and do different parts of my manicure! Each of the three came back to me without washing hands or changing tools, and went back to the other women without washing hands or changing tools.
