Cool diner with 50's decor in Pigeon Forge. Long wait for seating on the weekends. Loved the inside look of place with bright lighting. They have a huge counter seating area. The menu is huge with pretty much anything you'd like. Unfortunately, none of our meals were spectacular . My scrambled eggs were over cooked. The biscuits and gravy were good. Carly our server was very cute , friendly, and attentive. The diner is reminiscent of the sock hop days. The servers , the booths, music , and the cars were all sock hop. Breakfast was good. The only thing was my chocolate chip pancake was really flat. Not fluffy at all. Not sure if that's how it was supposed to be but it did taste good anyway. They're was 10 of us and everyone else enjoyed their breakfast. I would recommend eating here. I think the kids would love and good memories to some. read more

Waitress was ok. The restaurant itself is super cute and the gift shop is nice. Overall, food was pretty good - not amazing. It's diner food. I enjoyed my western omelette. Bigger issue with the food was that our order of Chicken & Waffles Benedict was supposed to come with poached eggs, but we got these vinegary, rubbery, hard boiled eggs without the shell (way overcooked). The customer experience representative Erin noticed the issue, came to us, and retrieved the manager to try and rectify the situation. Manager came over, agreed that the eggs were basically hard boiled, and when we declined a remake, he said the meal would be comped. Got the check a little while later... It wasn't comped. If you make a wrong turn you have to either back all the way out or exit the lot, drive up to the next light, make a U turn and drive back to try again. -The lighting is very bright and music is loud so it make be quite overwhelming/overstimulating to those with migraines or sensory issues. - The busy atmosphere makes some requests fall through the cracks. While we didn't want to bother our wait staff, one order was wrong and arrived without onions and cheese. We also had to ask for the milkshake a second time. (It was work the wait.) Overall- Would certainly give this another try on a future trip down and would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a fun and memorable dining experience. read more

We had the best experience at Sunliner Diner! Everyone in the restaurant was amazing, from being seated at our table by O'Dane and Caitlyn our server. Unbelievable to see a restaurant anymore were litterly every employee appeared to be happy. Doing their job and making the best of job. Caitlyn was always making sure we had drinks, our food was good and did we just need anything. We passed the Sunlit Diner driving into Gatlinburg and it pulls you in. It's like going to the 50's for a cruise in. The kids & I wanted a good burger and fries. This place is super cute from the staff dressed for the part, the menus that mimic a newspaper from the 50's with classic cream sodas and milkshakes to the boppin music playing. It's so much fun. There's two classic cars inside the restaurant that actually has seating inside the car!! How cool is that!!!!! Two of us ordered double burgers with fries, I ordered the classic club and Lucy ordered the waffle special that came with a huge waffle, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and hashbrowns. We all took a piece of the waffle. It was fluffy and delicious. I had the club which was also huge. I could only eat half. It was grilled Texas toast with tons of ham, turkey and bacon with tomato and lettuce. The fries were fresh and not greasy. On this day, we decided to visit this iconic 50's diner in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. We rode our motorcycles by a couple of times and it stood out, so, why not?!? We walked into utter chaos! The good kind of chaos! The fun kind of chaos. We grabbed a seat and ordered the COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN & EGGS, Crispy boneless chicken breast covered in sausage gravy. Served with two farm fresh eggs made to order and a Sunliner biscuit and your choice of hash browns or grits. Then came the the craziest idea, ordering THE JUKEBOX! THE JUKEBOX... A stack of three griddled burger patties. topped with American, Swiss chedder cheese, bacon, onion ring fried egg, and fried pickles. Drizzled with our Creole hollandaise on a buttered briache bun. Order it and you can play any song you'd like on the jukebox Finish it and get a Surliner surprise! Soooo... she finished it! We came here during our first trip to the area and it was good considering how busy places were for the July 4th week. Won't deny that I loved the classic diner feel inside and how some of the servers dress up and skate around inside waiting tables. It's definitely a family and kid friendly spot and they have a kid's menu. If you love breakfast they serve it all day including on the kid's menu, so we ordered the half waffle with sausage for my son. I ordered the patty melt and my husband ordered a burger. If you're into diner food, the chances are you will like what they offer. In a subtle way this place is like dinner and a show since big groups seem to come here and celebrate birthdays, plus the staff make announcements for patrons who finish certain menu items. Although our server was overall pleasant, he did mistake the sausage for bacon for my son's order and he also forgot my milkshake, which I ultimately decided to not mention because I probably didn't really need it anyway. It wasn't until after we were leaving that I saw the giant carrot cake in their case. I do sort of regret not getting a slice, but hoping to do so next time we are in the area. read more

The food and service was good but two large problems: The server said there was no Dr. Pepper and that they could not find it, however we saw this on the soft drink machine that they went to. We come once per year and always visit this restaurant. A most memorable item we get is the huge chocolate cake they offer that takes 2 to finish! This was not offered on the menu and we did not see it anywhere. We were so excited to get this again and were immeasurably disappointed to see this missing. First of all- shout out for the high chairs- the ONLY highchair that my 5 month old could safely sit in (as she is still a weeble-wobble when sitting) the entire trip. Our son loves chicken strips but is very picky about the breading. The chicken strips are huge and perfectly prepared. I got the shrimp platter and my husband got the reuben! I just had the most awesome burger experience! Not only was the burger itself incredible,I demolished the whole thing! but they even came by with a cowbell to announce my victory! Seriously, how fun is that? And as a reward for my burger eating prowess, I got a token to play a song on their jukebox and a button pretty cool experience during my vacation.But the fun didn't stop there! Their strawberry waffles are to die for seriously, the batter is actually strawberry flavored, so you get these gorgeous golden brown waffles that are pink on the inside. This place only has a higher rating because it's about 100 yds from a dispensary. The burgers are disgusting, I don't know how they cook them, but the aren't cooked on a grill or griddle. The burgers aren't hot, and the buns aren't fresh. The fries were okay, the shakes come with a chunk of waffle for reasons unknown. The sodas didn't have the right amount of flavoring. This was a fun eatery! Definitely a hopping place. We came to eat here on vacation, a party of six and they seated us right away! We all fit in a booth and the service was prompt and with a smile. Because it's such a large seating area, and nearly all the tables were full, I would recommend they add a bus boys position to help keep drinks filled while the waiters are taking orders, because you're going to be adding shakes and ice cream after seeing the orders of your neighbors! Food: Fabulous! Everything diner fare should be. Larger portions, amazingly cooked with quality ingredients. No skimping here! Note, the chicken tenders have more of a light/southern breading and we loved it! Drinks: get an old fashioned soda! Yummo! Or a shake while you're waiting for your food.
