My friends and I had a great experience at this diner today. They were able to sit us quickly despite there being 20 of us. The service was efficient and the food was served quickly. Because of the location, I thought we would have to wait hours to get sat but thankfully it didn't take long. Our servers were sweet and did their best to make sure we had a good experience. I would definitely be back to try more items from their menu! The food we had all tasted fresh and it's amazing seeing them serve those beautiful drinks! Mimosas also tasted fresh and with high quality orange juice. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and want a fun, tasty experience! I would recommend for them to add an espresso machine. read more

Disappointing experience - Left after 20 minutes with zero service. My wife, grandson, and I walked into the Sunliner Diner on a Sunday evening and were seated around 4:15 PM. We were looking forward to a nice meal as we had been there before for breakfast, but instead, we sat at our table for 20 minutes without a single staff member acknowledging us or even taking a drink order. What made the experience truly frustrating was watching the lack of basic attentiveness. While we sat there waiting, three other tables in our immediate section were seated after us, yet they received prompt, quick service right away. After 20 minutes of being completely ignored while watching everyone around us get served, we finally had to get up and leave. It is incredibly disappointing to have a family meal ruined by such poor organization and negligent service. We won't be back. read more

There are tons of restaurants in Pigeon Forge, but this one is definitely worth going to. The food was delicious and the whole restaurant fits the 50's theme perfect. The menu is what you would expect at a diner. The burgers & fries were tasty and the milkshake is served with a fluffy waffle on top. Friendly waiter, cool decor, interesting newspaper menu, and very fast service in terms of when I ordered and when the food hit the table (less than 10mins). The pasta and chicken were both fantastic. Could arguably be better than any pasta I've had even at legit Italian restaurants. The breadstick was very soft and everything about this meal was cooked well. The salad was just that, nothing except exceptional, but it tasted as it should which is a good thing! We were greeted with an enthusiastic host named Jay. We jokingly asked him if we could be seated in the Cadillac. He was swift to check and was able to offer it to us, as it had just become available. He is the perfect person to welcome customers, as he sets the tone for the visit. Later on, we could see him dancing to the diner music, which was delightful to view the joy that he projected. Our waitress, Miranda, was wonderful and attentive. Whole experience was ok. Everyone liked their food in our party of 10. The only downfall was our waitress Caitlyn did not come around as often to our table as i would have expected. Was charged the 18% gratituty due to our large party, with that included I expect phenonomal services My wife also got shake to go, was in a very small Cup for $10. Love the atmosphere of this place! It's definitely like a step back in time! Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. He met all of our needs! The food was fresh and delicious! Shakes are a great consistency and size. The fried pickles are some of the best I have had and they come with homemade ranch which makes them even better! When we first walked in, the two women responsible for seating guests simply looked at me without greeting us. I had to walk up and initiate the interaction myself. That initially threw me off, but I was still excited to give the place a try. While we were waiting for our food, I noticed employees behind us touching each other and flirting. At the bar, our server was huddled together with four other employees having conversations instead of attending to guests. Each time we needed our server, he only came over after I stared in that direction. This happened every single time. As a guest, I should not be aware of personal relationships between staff members. Those interactions should be kept professional and off the floor. read more

Don't be fooled by the kitschy vibe. My friend and I had a waitress that just ignored us completely! We tried to order dessert from her on three separate occasions, and each time she just turned around and walked away from the table. Never bringing us the food or even acknowledging the order. She was slow to come to the table. Initially, we had to wait a very long time to order our initial meal. By the time our meals arrived, our glasses were almost completely empty. She brought us one glass of Diet Coke, put it in between the two of us. She then said that she noticed that we both needed a refill, but instead brought ONE glass, and we should "figure it out"! There were tables of people who came in before us, had eaten, and left, and we were still just sitting there. I had to flag down another waiter, to ask if we could just pay and leave. To which point he suggested, I speak to a manager, because he knew who the problem was. This was already 2 hrs in! When this waitress heard we wanted to speak with a manager, she then came over to our table to insult us, and blame us for her poor service. She said she could not do her job because the two of us seem to be "having a conversation". Despite the fact that I pointed out, we were there on a casual vacation, they were times were looking at our phones to check reservations, and every time she approached the table, we immediately stopped and paid attention to our server. Nope... she doubled down. She repeated no less than 20 times that everything that happened was our fault. Even her bringing one glass to the table. She was trying to intercept us before the manager got there, have us pay our bill, and leave before he could talk to us. But that didn't happen.. Instead, the manager did get to our table. He listened to our issues, even said that she was never supposed to approach our table like that after we asked for him. 99.9% of the time I will never speak to a supervisor. I didn't even ask for one in this situation. Another waiter is the one who suggested we speak with the manager, and went to get him. Obviously, this is a problem, employee, and everybody seems to know it. We wasted 2 1/2 hours for what should've been a quick lunch, and missed one of our Vacation events. I would avoid this place at all costs! read more

It is a diner. It serves diner style food. Everything we had was very good. We tried burgers, chicken and waffles, margarita for 2, milkshake and a root beer float. The only thing I would change is the cleanliness. Under our table was not cleaned after the previous guests as there were dirty napkins and straw wrappers. They di have a few call outs during the meal that we attended. Birthdays, anniversaries and if you finished or ordered their roughly 30 big burger. Very fun place for kids and atmosphere is good too. Would 100% go back. Cute little store for merchandise is attached too and decently priced. read more

He was a happy happy guy. I had the triple grilled cheese sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. The grilled cheese was a failure, barely any cheese even though it advertised 3 cheeses. More bread than cheese isn't my idea of a grilled cheese sandwich. The Mac & Cheese was pretty dry and it felt like it was the bottom of the pan. Maybe because we got there after the dinner rush. This place is always on point for food and desserts! Very cool 50's vibe with fun and engaging wait staff to go along. We had a server named Robbie who was super attentive, fast with refills and the order. You can't beat the burgers and fries here. This time we popped in for desserts. My husband enjoyed the cheesecake, and my sundae was absolutely divine! The ingredients were high quality...just like the atmosphere and server we had that night. When you read the menu and see "cake" it's not just cake. It's a freaking skyscraper of a cake... three times taller than a normal piece of cake! Definitely will try that on our next trip into town. read more

This place was wonderful! We went with a family of 6 on a Tuesday evening after visiting Dollywood. We were sat immediately! The atmosphere is absolutely adorable! It gave 50's diner vibes with the jukebox, classic cars, diner tables and booths, etc. They serve breakfast all day as well so you can choose from breakfast or lunch/dinner items which I personally love! Their chocolate milkshake was amazing! You basically got 2 for the price of 1 with how much was left over in the mixing glass. The burgers were delicious! Fries and onion rings were spot on! They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.

I told him it was my birthday and that I had wanted coffee and cake. He took the bill and crumpled it in his hand. The portion of cake that he presented could have easily served three! I left the top frosting. The chocolate cake was moist and the frosting between the layers was German chocolate. Available seating offerings were a booth, table, or a table al fresco. It had the beer garden appeal. I opted to sit inside. The restaurant is also very family oriented (as are most things in Pigeon Forge). Me and the wife stopped in yonder today to grab us some lunch. Place was hoppin' pretty good but we didn't have to wait none, so that was nice. I tell ya, I liked the feel of the place soon as we walked in. Got that old-timey 50s look to it, and they done it up real good. Felt kinda like steppin' back in time. Our waitress, she was sweet as could be and took real good care of us -- no complaints there. I went with that Barnyard Burger and a side of onion rings. Burger tasted good, can't fuss too much on that. But I'll say this, them cooks missed the boat on that runny egg. I reckon they cooked it half the mornin' 'cause it was tougher'n a boiled one. Not a drop of runny yolk left in it. Then that tomato they put on there? Lord, half of it was just hard green core. I chunked it off quicker'n a hiccup. The wife got her a classic cheeseburger, supposed to be on Texas toast with onion rings on the side. First time it come out, that "toast" hadn't seen no heat at all -- just plain ol' bread. She sent it back and they fixed it right. Once they got it right, she seemed happy as a lark with it. Now don't get me wrong -- the food was good. I ain't sayin' it wasn't. Y'all could've been a solid 5 outta 5 in my book, but little things matter. That sorry ol' tomato slice? Only place it belonged was the trash can out back. And if you're gonna call it Texas "toast," well by gosh, it oughta be toasted. All in all though, it's a good spot. I'd come back. Sunliner Diner was such a fun experience. The shakes were honestly some of the best I've ever had, super rich and delicious. The hamburgers were just as good, really flavorful and cooked perfectly. The staff was incredibly nice and constantly checking on us, which made the whole experience even better. This place neglected to help one of their employees after repeatedly telling them she was being harassed and stalked by another employee. The illegal harasser eventually stabbed the girl in the back parking lot of the diner. He killed her. The Sunliner diner knew it was going on and didn't care. I will never eat there and hope you don't either. It should be shut down. read more

Although we did not have the pancakes they looked incredible and the lady sitting next to us had them and said they were even better than they looked.
