She also told me that Make Me Holey uses hypoallergenic materials, which had been a concern for me because several of my older piercings had rejected during the healing process, and I attributed that to materials. Based on my wife's recommendation, I scheduled an appointment to get my septum pierced, on a whim basically. I showed up, got pierced, and left - super quick and clean. The staff here are super friendly and nonjudgmental, it truly felt like a safe space because I came in feeling a little embarrassed at how gross my piercing had gotten. Nessa was FANTASTIC, her level of care is above and beyond and she made sure I was comfortable while she pushed the earring back through my cartilage. Even afterwards, she spent a lot of time answering all my questions and giving me overall great advice on how to care for my cartilage piercing. They also have a stunning jewelry selection up front. I've seen some reviews about them being expensive, but these are handmade with premium materials and sourced from local jewelers, not mass produced. After some back-and-forth, she refused to do my Bible verse tattoo and encourage me to do my secondary tattoo which I chose to be a sword. She refused to do my lettering because she said it was too small, but as you can see by the tattoo in my arm, she can easily draw small lettering. So that was odd. Then, when it came to the placement of the tattoo, because of the location on my shoulder, the tattoo was not straight. She actually yelled at me because I wasn't satisfied when the stencil went on my arm. The other guy stepped in and he was able to correct the issue by using a ruler and measuring the distance from my existing tattoo to get the evenly spaced apart tattoos. This was odd. Once the placement was good to go, the tattoo experience was good. Due to the customer service skills of the other guy in the shop, I asked Erika to give me his info so I can have him do my Bible verse tattoo. I sent him a message on Instagram, but he ignored me and hasn't responded. I would not recommend the shop. A tattoo is a permanent piece of art on your body, for the most part. If someone yells at you because you're not happy with the tattoo or the placement of it, it is simply bad customer service. I paid her above asking, a good tip and also paid her $100 because I missed a previous appointment. Time is valuable. I anticipate Erica will grow her patience and customer service skills. She will be the complete package when this happens. But if all you care about is an extremely talented artist and tattoo professional, then Erika is your person.
