This was our 2nd time to Sunny Daze Cafe. Its located a bit out of our usual route or we would certainly go more often. Menu is quite varied, food is really tasty, service is fast & very attentive. This time I had a Biscuits & Gravy bowl ( has an egg on top ) & u get 'an extra biscuit' on the side, never to many biscuits! Hubby got a traditional breakfast ( hash browns were perfect! ) & everything was tasty on its own, no one food tasting like everything else on the plate. This was our first time eating here and this place is delicious! Freshly cooked food with good flavor and good portions. I ordered the French toast supreme and it was really good in flavor. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy bowl and said that was the best he had tasted. My son and daughter ordered the Cali burger and said the bacon was perfectly crispy and had great taste. I came here for breakfast with my son. The people were nice and the food was decent. However, I ordered a kids meal which explicitly says it comes with a drink with the meal so I got my son an apple juice. I get the bill and I'm charged $4 for the apple juice. And was told that it's only for soda, not juice. Well who gets their child soda with breakfast? And who charges 3.89 for an apple juice? That's almost as much as the kids meal itself. I mentioned that it wasn't right and if it didn't include juice, it should say so on the menu. Will not be back. read more

Pretty standard run for breakfast on the way to the airport. Totally gotta call them out for a really nice theme (decor). Sets them apart and added a nice atmosphere. However I have to say the coffee was down right awful. I'm not a coffee snob but I will refuse Folgers. No idea what they were serving but 1 sip and I knew I was in trouble. Great tropical themed breakfast restaurant. The California omelet was great and they were happy to replace the bacon with poblano peppers for me. Excellent service! Not too shabby. I went later on in the night, looking for a place to eat close to the new theater. I ordered the cajun sausage plate that had two eggs, hashbrowns, and toast - all for about $7.99. It's decent quantity for the price, for sure. I really enjoyed the hashbrowns, the toast was delicately done, and my eggs were good. I couldn't quite stomach the sausage, but that has more to do with my appetite than the venue's quality. The sausage was a bit greasy, but was nicely spiced. I was really impressed with how much food I got. My boyfriend got the Sunny Daze Huevo Ranchero. I didn't have any of it, but he stated that it was pretty standard for a place. The restaurant was decorated with the classic cheesy palm fronds and flamingos with sunglasses. Felt kind of out of place, but I think going in the morning would have changed the overall feel. Our waitress was attentive and personable. I think the large table that was being served at the time are regulars or knew everyone on a personal level, but it really gave the nice small-town everyone knows everyone else kind of feel. She walked around the restaurant and gave us all two Sunny Puffs (I think that's what they were called). The fact that they would do that was really fun and nice. To stay consistent with the rest of my reviews, I'm giving this place 3 stars because A-OK about hits the mark: the food was OK and service was nice. You get a decent value for your buck here. I'm not quite sure if this will be a place I'd drive out to unless it was convenient. I'd be willing to go out here again in the future, but it didn't leave enough of an impression for me to make this a place I HAVE to go to. read more

This was a great place to stop for a quick lunch on the way to Disneyland. Their menu was varied enough for adults and children alike. Hubs had Sunny's huevos rancheros and really enjoyed them. I had the Unbeatable, basically a philly but with fajita meat and between 2 slabs of cheese-garlic toast. It was different and I enjoyed that. Everyone really liked their fries. Burger and cinnamon rolls were giant and delicious. The staff treated us like family and gave great advice for doing Disneyland. Everyone in the family was satisfied with their meals and one son polished off the end of everyone else's plates. They come around with a basket of Sunny Puffs which are tasty little dense beignet-meets-sopapillas. You can order them from the menu but one was just right for me. Come for the fun and flamingos. Stay for the food. Definitely worth bypassing the fast food and taking a minute with your family. read more

I have been hereat least 8 times over the last year and a half. I just moved out of Tucson, but wanted to give a review on one of my favorite local places in Tucson. It is a perfect place to meet friends for a delicious breakfast, or early lunch The lunches aretasty, and the meatloaf, and tortillas are fresh.. However breakfast is their specialty. If you check in with yelp, you get a half order of their own delicious Sunny Puffs. They are little puffs of sweet fried heaven. The decour here is visually interesting. Kind of a cross between the beach, and an eclectic neighbor you spend time with. Very relaxed beach feel, dotted with plenty of pink flamingos for fun. The real story is the food , and the service. The eggs are cooked perfectly, if you get an omlet it is just the way you want it. The pancakes......YUMMY. Give this place a try, and I promise, you wont be disappointed!! You can get both American and authentic Mexican flavor here, and the place has style!!! read more

Came from Sierra Vista for our Sunny Daze fix. Grilled ham & cheese was amazing as was the chicken cordon blue. And I always get the loaded hash browns! And the sunny's puffs are soooooo good. Love this place! We always eat here when we come to Tucson. read more

Good stuff! Friendly, fast and very reasonably priced. I ordered the enchilada special and at first glance was a bit skeptical, but the first fork full of shredded chicken and melty cheese lightly bathed in pleasantly hot green pepper sauce and I knew I had chosen well. This finished nicely with a bowl of ice cream and a coke. Plus, even with a decent tip I came in at under $20 for entree, beverage, and dessert. The decor is very "escape from Hawaii", but somehow it's fun rather than tacky. I think this will become a "hey let's go to Sunny's" whenever I'm in Tucson, especially with a small group. read more

The food was good and you received a lot of food at a reasonable price. The Sunnys huevos rancheros was good if you want a gringos style Mexican breakfast. The hash Brown casserole is excellent but the plain hashbrowns were greasy. The restaurant was cluttered but not run down or dirty. We did have to wait a bit for our waitress to return after we received our drinks but the staff was friendly and very attentive. I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars. read more

The cutest restaurant decked out in nautical, Pink Flamingo decor!! I had an omelette with Pobalno peppers and tomatoes my husband had the Chorizo skillet. Both were very good not five star great but definitely very tasty. The Omelette was delicious the "has browns" were not very hash browny in my opinion. They had more of a mashed potato consistency. They also offer a complimentary Sunny Puff. This is fried dough with powdered sugar piece of heaven. My one word of caution and complaint all though not a complaint for all is the serving size is enormous enough for two average eaters. I always feel bad throwing away half my food and eggs are not great leftovers. Overall, cute restaurant with tasty food and nice staff. I would recommend to check it out!! read more

My friend and I had been driving for 13 hours and after arriving to our stopping point of the road trip (Arizona) and I found this place on yelp and we decided to try it. All that being said, we were literally starving and this place didn't taste good. Both of sandwiches (mine the chicken, his the burger) were not flavorful or seasoned very well. The fries were good but they're was nothing spectacular about them. The saving grace of this restaurant was the insane but hilarious flamingo decor which made the meal more bearable. I liked that it was a family owned business. Also, the cinnamon roll we ordered for dessert was good. My recommendation: eat the dessert but NOT the burger or the chicken sandwich. read more

Went here for breakfast around 9am with co-workers. Upon walking into the restaurant you see the kitchen behind the bar on the left. The state of the kitchen was an absolute mess. They had open containers piled on top of each other, the Cooks were DRIPPINNG sweat onto the grill, and they had eggs unrefrigerated next to the grill. The cook was not cooking eggs and at no point grabbed an egg or put them back into refrigeration. I truly hope it was an empty carton but we were not willing to risk it. After being seated we discovered the menus were sticky so we decided to leave. I would not trust any food coming from this kitchen. read more

Needed a place close to the airport for lunch and this is such a great spot! Had the chicken tacos- comes with 2 flour or corn tortillas, grilled chicken, lettuce, cheese, tomato salsa, and baked beans. Super tasty except the beans were a little watery but they come on the side so no worries. I also ordered a side of guacamole and sour cream- the guac is sooo good. Really lime-ey and fresh tasting. We also got a free 1/2 order of sunny puffs, fried dough with powdered sugar, for free through a yelp coupon! They were super tasty and not too heavy. Our server was also really attentive and nice and brought out our food in less than 15 minutes! The atmosphere is really fun and kitschy and has checker boards built into the tables if you're up for a game. Overall, the restaurant was excellent with good food, service, and a fun vibe! This is my first time trying this place out. I went with my fiance and his family it was his sister's birthday. I had the French toast with scrambled eggs with cheese and ham. It was all really decent. My sister had the biscuits and gravy and she really enjoyed it and he had a omelet and really enjoyed it the rest of his family had various breakfast items and they seem to enjoy their breakfast. The only complaint, I had was four of us ordered an orange juice which is pretty standard for a breakfast joint and by 10 a.m. they were already out of orange juice. So, everyone ended up having pop with a breakfast rather than good wholesome orange juice. Upon yelp checking and they do offer free donuts sprinkled with powdered sugar and they also brought the same donuts for her birthday and sang Happy Birthday. Overall, we all really enjoyed our breakfast. The best advice to this place is don't run out of orange juice by 10 a.m. expect being a breakfast restaurant you are going to have a ton of orange juice orders. I would definitely give this place a try. Here is some additional feedback which is why they got a four-star and not a five-star. The bathroom needs to be updated it's not that it was dirty it just was very dated and it appeared to be dirty and have a smell because of how I updated it was. Also, the restaurant could use a deep cleaning it wasn't filthy by no means but it wasn't overly clean which is what is expected in a restaurant. read more
