We took our kids here for the first time today, and I was genuinely impressed by the customer service. Everyone was so warm, patient, and welcoming, and they made both our kids and our whole family feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It's not easy to find a place that's this friendly and accommodating to families with young children. I'd give them 5 stars for the customer service and about 3.5 stars for the foods. The foods didn't quite live up to my expectations, but it was still good and enjoyable. The outstanding service really made the experience, and that's what will bring us back. Way better than a certain big XLB chain and way more worth the price. The food quality is excellent and the customer service is amazing! Absolutely recommend the scallion pancakes. I don't know what they do to them, but they come shredded, airy, and very crispy. We almost ordered them again but everything else was very filling! We also got rice cakes and they were the perfect texture - not too firm and not too soft, with just the right amount of sauce. What a newish spot serving up some freshly made dumplings. They have a new concept here where you cook your own Xiao Long Baos on top of a hotpot. It was pretty interesting, we waited 8 minutes for the soup to boil on top of the heating pad than another 8 minutes for our XLB to fully cook. Turned out delicious and juicy. We ended up trying out a bunch of stuff and these are my thoughts. Cucumber with Garlic - Thought these were okay. I mean it's cucumbers. I've had better though. (3.5/5) Xiao Long Bao - They are good, juicy and quite flavorful. Fun way to eat especially cooking them yourselves. (4.5/5) Spicy Wonton - IMO the wontons could use a bit more sauce. It was a bit light and not too spicy. I've had better but overall not bad. (3.5/5) Sauteed String Beans - Perfectly cooked and had good flavor. This veggie is worth it. (4.5/5) Dan Dan Noodles - So this is hit or miss. The peanut flavor is VERY strong, if you like nutty flavors you'd enjoy this. Personally for me I loved it, but my wife did not. (4/5) Assorted Fried Rice - This had tons of ingredients in it and it tasted good, quite buttery. I enjoyed it. (4.5/5) Hotpot - So this came with cooking the XLB. The soup was pretty bland (which they told us and gave us salt). We also got corn (wouldn't recommend this, its the starchy one), beef, napa cabbage, and hotpot sauce (sesame sauce). It's a fun concept but not entirely sure how I feel about it. It's good nonetheless but also kind of unnecessary. (4/5) I like the innovation at this spot, and I get where it's going but also not entirely sure how I feel about it. The food is good, prices are very reasonable at around $10-$15 per dish for reasonably portions. Service is also very attentive and friendly. 3.5-4 stars Friends have been mentioning Sunny Dumpling House ever since it opened, especially with its special deals during the Grand Opening (month). Sunny Dumpling House is located to the right of the Sushi restaurant, where I think a former hotpot restaurant was. We finally got a chance to place an order the other week, when my schedule aligned with their hours. Make sure to check their hours before visiting, or placing a to-go order. Pork Xiao Long Bao (9 pc) Dan Dan Noodle (No spicy) Placed a phone in order, with no issues, and my order was ready by the time I arrived. Make sure to check your order though! They did not include any sauces with my Pork Xiao Long Bao. Good thing I checked before leaving, soy sauce & vinegar should at least be a given, better yet if it includes thinly sliced ginger. They do still have the BOGO banner still up, dine-in only, but it is still a great deal. The prices are a bit high for the "smaller" portions but the flavors are on point. One of the better tasting Pork Xiao Long Baos around in the area. We do wish that the noodles for the Dan Dan Noodle were a bit thicker (thinner than Spaghetti, but slightly thicker than angel hair size) because the noodles basically all stuck to each other by the time we ate at home, which was only a few minutes away. HOWEVER, both kids and husband enjoyed the flavor of their XLB so much that they had to order a THIRD serving, so take that for what it's worth. The beef stew noodle soup was hot, spicy and super flavorful l. If you like mala flavor, then this is for you. The beef was thinly sliced and super tender. Came here for dinner with my mom and we got the chicken fried rice, hot and sour soup, and pork and veggie dumplings in chili sauce. The food came our fairly quickly and you can watch them make dumplings in the front. They have frozen dumplings for sale. The food was all good and we had leftovers which kept well the following day. I believe this dumpling house replaced the old Big Rice next to Vons and Chase. I'm so glad to have another great dumpling house near me, and this one really stands out. The juicy pork XLBs are heavenly, the skin is a bit different from normal XLB, but I love it, they're chewier. There is so much juice in each bao and the broth is so sweet. Also ordered spicy wontons, I LOVE the chili oil here. I'm not a fan of chili crisp/chunks of chili, so this chili oil was perfect for me. It's chili infused oil, so you get all the spice and flavor without biting any chili or chili seeds. The photo I took was before mixing, with the chili oil at the bottom. The beef noodle stew is on the lighter side, but it was still very delicious! The choy was perfectly cooked and the noodles are a great texture. They warned me that the beef noodles were spicy, but it was on the more mild side for me if you have low spice tolerance it won't be a problem. Service was quick and we also received a voucher for free wontons on our second visit! I'm excited to come back soon. Inside is very spacious and they can accommodate larger parties as well. At first glance, the restaurant seemed very clean and traditional looking. Before seating, the servers warned us that service was going to be delayed a little because of the high volume of people. In reality, the service wasn't too slow but definitely could see they were busy. The food was overall pretty good! They started with mala peanuts that had a nice kick. It was an exciting change from the typical salted peanuts. The sautéed green beans tasted different from other places (a little sweeter), but still enjoyable. The Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons were great and not too spicy (which I enjoyed since my spice tolerance is not too high). The fried rice had a nice flavor and good amount as well. The soup dumplings had a good flavor but not consistent since some dumplings had little to no soup compared to others. Finally the pork moon cake had a flaky crust with well seasoned interior. First time trying this place on a Sunday late afternoon. My iPhone map app says the restaurant opens at 4:30pm, but it's actually opens at 5pm. So, somebody needs to fix it. We were the first customer tonight. Server is nice and friendly, trying to explain to us how the menu works. She gave us a jar of cold water and two cups. We placed our order. She gave us a small plate of seasoned peanuts while we wait for our food. Very tasty and has Sichuan peppercorn flavor, not too spicy. Food arrived relatively fast. Everything is delicious. Wontons in spicy oil is a little too salty in the stuffing itself, but it's not overly spicy so I enjoyed it. Green onion pancake is very interesting and flaky delicious. The bao we got is also delicious and flavorful. Server checked on us couple times. Price was reasonable. Considered we had 4 dishes and costs $46. This is a cute little dumpling spot in Walnut! They are in the Vons Plaza on Lemon and La Puente Rd. My friend and I went for an early dinner (5:00pm). They were not busy at all. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The restaurant is very spacious and clean. Their menu is simple with a few items in each category. We ordered the pork XLB, chives and pork pan-fried dumplings, garlic cucumber, and green onion pancake. Everything came out piping hot! The pork XLB had a thin delicate skin and a bit of tasty broth, but it was overall average. The chives and pork dumplings were quite tasty! These also had a thinner and chewier skin. The filling was seasoned well, but I noticed both of the dumplings were smaller than other dumpling spots. The garlic cucumber was refreshing, and the shredded green onion pancake was enjoyable. They currently use disposable fork/spoons and chopsticks. I hope they will upgrade to using soup spoons for my next visit. We'll be back! read more

Always great to welcome another dumpling spot to the neighborhood. Located in a shopping center with a huge parking lot is a plus. The owners have an OG location on Colima next to GW supermarket that sells steamed buns but this spot has all the other steamed/pan fried wonders the other spot doesn't. This spot just opened so I couldn't give it anything less than 4 stars.. there is definitely room for improvement. My partner and I ordered the following: Juicy pork Xiao long bao ($10.99) Dan Dan noodles ($9.99) Napa cabbage and pork pan fried dumplings ($12.99) String beans ($10.99) Great prices for the quality of the food that's for sure. The pan fried dumplings were our favorite. There was also a complimentary plate of peanuts. My only complain is with the XLB; skin is slightly too chewy and there's not enough soup.
