I believe this dumpling house replaced the old Big Rice next to Vons and Chase. I'm so glad to have another great dumpling house near me, and this one really stands out. The juicy pork XLBs are heavenly, the skin is a bit different from normal XLB, but I love it, they're chewier. There is so much juice in each bao and the broth is so sweet. Also ordered spicy wontons, I LOVE the chili oil here. I'm not a fan of chili crisp/chunks of chili, so this chili oil was perfect for me. It's chili infused oil, so you get all the spice and flavor without biting any chili or chili seeds. The photo I took was before mixing, with the chili oil at the bottom. The beef noodle stew is on the lighter side, but it was still very delicious! The choy was perfectly cooked and the noodles are a great texture. They warned me that the beef noodles were spicy, but it was on the more mild side for me if you have low spice tolerance it won't be a problem. Service was quick and we also received a voucher for free wontons on our second visit! I'm excited to come back soon. Inside is very spacious and they can accommodate larger parties as well. Prices are reasonable and maybe even a bit lower when compared to other dumpling houses, just going off of my memory. Please give this dumpling house a visit!! 10/10 read more

At first glance, the restaurant seemed very clean and traditional looking. Before seating, the servers warned us that service was going to be delayed a little because of the high volume of people. In reality, the service wasn't too slow but definitely could see they were busy. The food was overall pretty good! They started with mala peanuts that had a nice kick. It was an exciting change from the typical salted peanuts. The sautéed green beans tasted different from other places (a little sweeter), but still enjoyable. The Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons were great and not too spicy (which I enjoyed since my spice tolerance is not too high). The fried rice had a nice flavor and good amount as well. The soup dumplings had a good flavor but not consistent since some dumplings had little to no soup compared to others. Finally the pork moon cake had a flaky crust with well seasoned interior. First time trying this place on a Sunday late afternoon. My iPhone map app says the restaurant opens at 4:30pm, but it's actually opens at 5pm. So, somebody needs to fix it. We were the first customer tonight. Server is nice and friendly, trying to explain to us how the menu works. She gave us a jar of cold water and two cups. We placed our order. She gave us a small plate of seasoned peanuts while we wait for our food. Very tasty and has Sichuan peppercorn flavor, not too spicy. Food arrived relatively fast. Everything is delicious. Wontons in spicy oil is a little too salty in the stuffing itself, but it's not overly spicy so I enjoyed it. Green onion pancake is very interesting and flaky delicious. The bao we got is also delicious and flavorful. Server checked on us couple times. Price was reasonable. Considered we had 4 dishes and costs $46. Next time we'll try the hot pot and the self steam dumplings. read more

Came here during their grand opening special and got free XLBs for each person in our party! They tasted very good, even better because they were free! Nice interior with lots or room/tables. The workers here are very friendly. We ordered several dishes and all were very good. Beef noodle soup had a good broth and portion size. Beef could be more tender, but still good. The pan fried pork dumplings were juicy, flavorful, and had a nice outside crust. They also give complimentary salted peanuts, which I love. This is a cute little dumpling spot in Walnut! They are in the Vons Plaza on Lemon and La Puente Rd. My friend and I went for an early dinner (5:00pm). They were not busy at all. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The restaurant is very spacious and clean. Their menu is simple with a few items in each category. We ordered the pork XLB, chives and pork pan-fried dumplings, garlic cucumber, and green onion pancake. Everything came out piping hot! The pork XLB had a thin delicate skin and a bit of tasty broth, but it was overall average. The chives and pork dumplings were quite tasty! These also had a thinner and chewier skin. The filling was seasoned well, but I noticed both of the dumplings were smaller than other dumpling spots. The garlic cucumber was refreshing, and the shredded green onion pancake was enjoyable. They currently use disposable fork/spoons and chopsticks. I hope they will upgrade to using soup spoons for my next visit. We'll be back! read more

Standouts were the silken tofu century egg appetizer with an addictive sauce and the salt and pepper chicken wings that were oh so crispy and juicy. But NO WHERE do they state that condition in print, not even on the large banner outside of the restaurant and the graphic on their payment machine. The food is good and the price is reasonable. There is a lot of juice inside of the XLB but the skin is a bit thick compared to DTF. The dine-in place is spacious and clean. Always great to welcome another dumpling spot to the neighborhood. Located in a shopping center with a huge parking lot is a plus. The owners have an OG location on Colima next to GW supermarket that sells steamed buns but this spot has all the other steamed/pan fried wonders the other spot doesn't. This spot just opened so I couldn't give it anything less than 4 stars.. there is definitely room for improvement. My partner and I ordered the following: Juicy pork Xiao long bao ($10.99) Dan Dan noodles ($9.99) Napa cabbage and pork pan fried dumplings ($12.99) String beans ($10.99) Great prices for the quality of the food that's for sure. The pan fried dumplings were our favorite. There was also a complimentary plate of peanuts. My only complain is with the XLB; skin is slightly too chewy and there's not enough soup. Fairly new dumpling spot in walnut. It's a big restaurant with lots of tables. I went at lunch on a Friday and it was pretty empty. We got the pork soup dumplings, spicy wantons and a noodle dish. They give complimentary roasted peanuts as a starter. I would recommend coming for the soup dumplings. They make them fresh in house. Enjoyed a quick lunch here and the food was really good. XLB was bogo free which was a great deal. Aside from the dumplings, string beans and scallion pancakes were also our fav dishes. Food was very good. The xlb didn't scald me with how hot the soup was inside because I took a little more time and let them cool by opening the tops for about 10 seconds before eating. The service was great, food came within the expected timelines given by the server. Only unfortunate part is they don't seem very confident in their English and wanted to speak to me in Chinese since I look Chinese, but they ended up being kind and still speaking to me in English since I'm not confident enough in my Mandarin. Has a very chill ambiance with induction stove tables. Not sure if this is for their xlb or if they also serve hot pot here. Definitely enjoyed my food and hope to be able to come back to enjoy it with a few people next time. Surprisingly didn't see too many other customers eat in while I was there, but I guess it's understandable since I went right when they opened. We unintentionally found this place but we're so glad we did! This place is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. We ordered four dishes plus 1 free XLB for three people (two adults and one child), and there wasn't a single bite left! Everything we ordered was incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. The portions were decent--not huge, but just right--and every dish had that signature "wok hei" that made the food even more irresistible. Very disappointed in portion sizes and the quality of the fried dumplings. It was soggy and the bottom of the dumplings was not cooked to a crispy consistency at all. Although I had gotten takeout, I opened it in the car to try one so it was not due to the fact that it was in a container. The beef rolls were really disappointing too. The portions were so tiny, it was even smaller than the tiny dumplings they gave me. Bland and disappointing, no sauce or anything in the beef rolls. I was actually craving sushi today , and when i got to the restaurant it was closed , feeling disappointed i looks to my right, and see a Grand opening sign Sunny Dumplings House , i actually was wanting to try this restaurant , me and my friend was not especially hungry but man did we order alot of food, and they also gave us free xiao long bao 2 free orders, i think they had a promotion thing going on i read some where it was the first 50 people of the day we were 15 and 16 , so on top of the 2 xlb orders we also had pork/shrimp dumpling in spicy sauce and pork/shrimp dumpling in soup, pork dumplings pan fried , dan dan noodles , and pork / shrimp Shaomai... Were to start off first well i feel like the service was pretty attentive , there was a vinegar bottle mark on the table and they wiped it clean right away , when i got the bill they made sure we had enough to go boxes and when i packed up everything to go they say the plastic bag looks a little flimsy so they gave me another one and helped me pack it very nice of them oh and i forgot they gave me a new pair of chopsticks to put all the dumplings in hahahaha - service was pretty good i will say nice servers too the XLB at first did not look picture perfect , and when i use eat XLB i just eat the whole thing , the XLB was perfect alot of savory juice and when chew the skin was thing and with a little bite which i like and pork was good nicely seasoned - spicy pig ears i love it the texture the marinated i wish i had a cold beer it would of been perfect with it , shaomai to me was probably my least favorite was not expecting marinated rice in it too me it didnt really go with with it but maybe it was fresh it would taste better it seems froze to me - the pork and pork/shrimp dumplings were great savory fillings cant go wrong ordering any type - im not sure if its a Feng shui thing , but they have these red rose drapes around the walls and bathroom kinda of make it looks tacky , well i didnt come here for the ambiance either way , food here is great and i will come again for sure , next time i would like to try there beef noodle soup , well till next time see you guys. read more
