CRISPY NOODLE: this was good! I wanted it with seafood but they misunderstood and gave me chicken. Still yummy. Definitely shareable!

*NO MORE DIM SUM* I came here because I saw dim sum in the photos, but once I arrived I saw nothing on the menu for dim sum. Once I read the reviews I wish I did before because apparently they stopped doing dim sum here. So sad! SERVICE (4/5): They say me quick and took my order at a slower, but decent speed. There was a language barrier so I didn't receive the correct order at first, but they did apologize and give me a free tea refill. FOOD (3/5): CRISPY NOODLE: this was good! I wanted it with seafood but they misunderstood and gave me chicken. Still yummy. Definitely shareable! SOY SAUCE CHICKEN: it's half the chicken cut up with all the bones. Very simple, but delicious! It comes with the smallest ginger, I had to ask for more it's what makes the dish amazing! HK MILK TEA: this was floral and light. Loved it!

Casual and convenient stop. Small place for a quick fix dine-in Hong Kong casual meal since there's only a few tables and chairs inside. There's plenty of tables and chairs outside too. Not a fancy place. Good customer service as needed. It feels more like a BBQ meats takeout shop. I didn't see the dim sum items today. At lunch, they do have those special $10.99 meats & rice place with additional $2.50 each for beverages starting at 11am. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of the regular items here and there. They didn't have the hot HK milk tea, so I was offered the cold 16oz. cup HK milk tea instead. Lady next to table didn't get what she was asking for either/inventory runs out fast even at prime lunch hour. Other than that, the place is small enough to hear everyone talk inside. Lines can get busy. They accept all credit cards here. Lady server is very welcoming and friendly. Note: BBQ pork meat doesn't taste as good as other places. Pretty bland. No soy sauce on it or on tables. Food portions are huge. Lots of fatty meat on my beef brisket noodle bowl. Still very affordable eats. Iced coffee and HK milk tea beverages are legit. Menu options are general for soup noodles/rice plates/BBQ meat dishes/main entrees/porridge/appetizers/etc. Beverage list isn't huge. We won't be returning, but it was conveniently located for our enjoyment. Foods came out within 1-2 minutes after ordering. Not bad for a quick stop. It didn't make our favorite list of choices though.

My dad suggested this restaurant for lunch, to which I was skeptical about since it was more of a take out place than a sit down restaurant. There were only four tables for seating inside and three outside. I had little to no expectations since I eat Chinese food quite often. They had a nice variety of items so we decided to try a bunch of our usuals. We got French styled filet, egg tofu with veggies, French toast, and honey walnut shrimp. Every item we ordered was packed with flavor and seasoning. I wasn't expecting everything to be so delicious since I have high standards on how my French styled filet and egg tofu should taste and be cooked. By the end of the meal, I was completely stuffed. Overall, I would definitely come back and I would recommend this place to friends and family!

First time trying HK Bistro. During our visit, we ordered Mongolian beef , beef fried rice & fried wonton. The Mongolian beef was well seasoned. Beef fried rice is delicious. The wontons are stuffed with big pieces of shrimp and very well seasoned. Aside from the dim sum selections, most of the entrees are served family -style , with large portions perfect for sharing. The menu is simple with a lot of mix and match options. Plenty of parking Quick and friendly service. Highly recommend if you find yourself in the Diamond Bar area

Some places earn a permanent spot in your rotation, and Tasty Box is exactly that -- reliable, unfussy, and consistently good. The seafood chow mein hits like comfort food should, the salt & pepper pork chops bring just enough crackle to keep things interesting, and the Chinese broccoli drowning in garlic is the kind of side dish that quietly steals the show. When you want something freshly made without the performance, Tasty Box delivers every time.

My favorite place for duck. I've only tried 2 dishes here and they have been outstanding. Staff is friendly place is clean. I'll come here for lunch by myself to explore new dishes. What are your favorites here?

    Roast duck

Today I went to get half a roast but when I got home and open the box it was a lot less than I was expecting. The quality is not what it used to be to be anymore.

I love myself a good HK cafe. On this day, I ordered the soy sauce chicken, braised pork ear, some Cha siu, and braised chicken feet. I was meal prepping for the week and thought this was a good selection. Braising takes a long time so their braised food is a good deal. The soy sauce chicken is tasty also. All are on the salty side. The cha siu was a bust though.... old and not very good. Casual. Easy parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

the quality is not what it was before, and the duck is missing a lot of the parts. very disappointed as my family used to love this restaurant before it changed. would not recommend

Very delicious and good portion ! Prompt services. Nice clean interior . If the soup is steaming hot will be 5 stars

No fxcking way I am going back again! The pork BBQ was ok, added $4 for 3 pieces of chicken is still acceptable. The veggies is cold and it has a fxcking cockroach inside!

I have been a loyal customer for a long time, but my experience yesterday was unacceptable. I ordered half a roast duck, but the portion I received was barely a quarter (see photo). To make matters worse, the duck was ice cold--it clearly wasn't fresh and hadn't even been reheated. This isn't the first time I've had issues; the BBQ meats in my last few orders were tough, dry, and clearly not fresh. Even the dipping sauce this time felt watered down and tasteless. I've supported this business many times, extremely disappointed.

Do you still offer Dim Sum?

No -- regrettably, they stopped serving dim sum 2 years ago, I think. I really miss their sesame balls -- they were the best I've ever had. Let's hope the owner gives us a reprieve and starts offering a limited variety of dim sum!

I was told you were not doing dim sum take out and planning on opening a sit down restaurant. Not true?…

With our current new setup, we are able to accommodate both takeout and dine in requests. Also, we are still serving dim, though the previous bake items are no longer on the menu.

Hello Tomy Would you please post your new sim sum menu on Yelp?

Hello. Thank you for reaching out. I posted the new menus on yelp. However, I am not able to categorize it under menu so it is in the general photo bin. Sorry for the inconvenience

Can you guys fill a little more sauces in the containers? The containers are big but it barely fills the whole bottom of it.

This is a Yelp page. Maybe call the restaurant directly and complain?

Do you have any savory vegetarian dim sum?

They have limited selection of vegetarian dim sum

Can we order thru the phone? The number doesn't seem to work...?

Yes phone order works. Sorry we just have one phone line so if we are on the phone already taking an order, we are not able to switch over.

Is dim sum sold ALL day?

For the most part yes. However there are days where we run our of the baked items towards the end of the day

They offer typical Cantonese style breakfasts. It's a self serve operation here. You order via app, kiosk or through a person and you find a seat and wait for your number to be called. Then you just pick up your tray when your food is ready, and bring it back to your table. When you're done eating, bring your tray to the to the counter for them to clean up. I loved the various food statues located throughout the restaurant, they are so cute and make for great photo ops! My girlfriends and I got essentially the same breakfast combos with the exception of different porridge ingredients. I opted for breakfast combo #3, which included porridge, rice roll, and a drink (I got hot ying yang tea). Iced drinks are $1 extra. The food here is tasty and best of all is reasonably priced! I love that they have porridge toppings that you can put on. The roasted peanuts were so so good! If I could say anything negative about this place it would be their regular menu needs reformatting. Honestly their regular menu was really confusing to understand. I thought maybe it was just me, but my friend also expressed her frustration with trying to understand the menu. Luckily the employee came by and showed us the breakfast special menu, which was exactly what we were wanting to order and so much easier to understand. I definitely want to bring my family here to try more of the menu as I know they will enjoy it as much as I did!

I wanted to try Chan Kee in Monrovia but they closed down before I got the chance to. My friend who's had CK before said they've changed their menu and it was now pretty overwhelming. We ordered a congee with a side of saucy rice noodle rolls and a wonton beef stew noodle soup to share. You basically order the base (congee or noodle) then add the options for an extra charge. Each entree/side/drink combo came about to nearly $20. The rice noodles and wonton noodles were pretty good. They give alot of congee but taste was just okay. Decor was cute. Food didn't take too long to come out considering there was only one person working and it was also a random Monday afternoon. Overall, just okay and I feel like I could get tastier food for better prices in the mpk/sg/alhambra area.

Fortunately, they serve both. We both love siomai, duck, and crispy salted squid so we ordered the trio. The siomai was fresh. Tasted as if it was just off a lunch cart. It's delicious and the serving size is quite generous. The price is unbeatable too. We really enjoyed its balanced taste. Sometimes, siomai can be a bit bland but this was packed with flavor. The Peking Duck was great too. Reminded us of our time in Hong Kong. Less oily but still delicious. The buns were great too. We both enjoyed every bite. The sauce was excellent too. It had sweetness to it from the pineapple sauce. The salted crispy squid is balanced. Salty yet a bit sweet. It's definitely more of the indulgent side of things. Best paired with rice. We skip the carbs that night, but we'll definitely order this again paired with something else. The service here is great. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. It doesn't feel like rushed service. Ambiance here feels like your typical Chinese restaurant. It's clean and you can tell it has aged over time. You're here for the good food though, not the aesthetics. I thought the food was adequate but not as good as dishes from other Chinese restaurants around the area. We got the chicken chow mein, fish fillet with sweet corn, and honey walnut shrimp. Steamed rice is available but for an additional charge. The staff made themselves easily visible and offered to take our order almost immediately. The chicken chow mein arrived lastly. We noticed this because we were finishing our two other dishes. The ambience was nice, but I noticed that our plastic tablecloth was a little tattered. The fish fillet with sweet corn came breaded. With sweet and savory flavor from the corn, it was good. It might've been better if the fish were not breaded. The flavor from the honey walnut shrimp was adequate, but I've tasted better elsewhere. My hunch infers that the shrimp quality could've been higher. The chicken chow mein's flavor was decent, but I've tasted better slurry from other Chinese restaurants. Our meal came with complimentary jasmine tea, which was quite strong and flavorful.

We also ordered their steamed rice rolls with shrimp and chive and you can tell it was made fresh by the wrinkles in the rice paper. The last item we ordered was their chinese sausage clay pot. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.
