I ordered a whole roast duck for takeout from TASTY BOX. Unfortunately, halfway through our meal, we found a dead fly underneath one of the pieces of duck. It was extremely unpleasant and honestly made everyone at the table lose their appetite immediately. I'm not a regular customer, but I live nearby and have ordered from this restaurant more than 10 times, so this was especially disappointing. I understand that flies and insects can be more common during the summer, but food safety and cleanliness are extremely important, especially in a restaurant. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this seriously, pays closer attention to food handling and kitchen sanitation, and makes sure this does not happen again. She is rude and needs someone to teach her some customer service. I have been here more than a handful of times in the span of 1-2 years and unfortunately her demeanor and rudeness never changes. We usually come here for dim sum but I was told by her that they no longer serve it. But because my kids and I were starving we decided to order and dine in. We ordered a beef with egg chow fun. It's smelled great but unfortunately it lacked flavor. My ended up just eating the beef and left the noodle. At lunch, they do have those special $10.99 meats & rice place with additional $2.50 each for beverages starting at 11am. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of the regular items here and there. They didn't have the hot HK milk tea, so I was offered the cold 16oz. cup HK milk tea instead. Lady next to table didn't get what she was asking for either/inventory runs out fast even at prime lunch hour. Other than that, the place is small enough to hear everyone talk inside. Lines can get busy. They accept all credit cards here. Lady server is very welcoming and friendly. Note: BBQ pork meat doesn't taste as good as other places. Pretty bland. No soy sauce on it or on tables. Food portions are huge. Lots of fatty meat on my beef brisket noodle bowl. Still very affordable eats. Iced coffee and HK milk tea beverages are legit. My dad suggested this restaurant for lunch, to which I was skeptical about since it was more of a take out place than a sit down restaurant. There were only four tables for seating inside and three outside. I had little to no expectations since I eat Chinese food quite often. They had a nice variety of items so we decided to try a bunch of our usuals. We got French styled filet, egg tofu with veggies, French toast, and honey walnut shrimp. I decided to come here instead for dinner and looks like they combined the stores and took out the dim sum. I always wonder why they had two locations. I ended up getting their combo A meal. This comes with two entrees, large soup, three bowl of rice, and veggies of the day. I ended up picking my husband and my favorite which is salt and pepper pork chop and seafood tofu. Both dishes were great. The veggies of the day was choy sum, they didn't have much flavors but I love the crunch of it. The soup was good, very wholesome. They offer array of dishes such as stir fry meats and vegetables, steamed minced pork, roasted meats, stir-fry noodles and rice, soup, congee, and noodle soup. But they are still doing good business so there must be a good reason. We tried the beef chow fun, eggplant and salt and pepper pork chops. They were all really good. I've struggled with service from other restaurants the two kind ladies working here are so kind and patient with us. They definitely make the experience and dinner an enjoyable time. This sit down location offers dim sum before 3pm and is the best place for taste and service. Theres plenty of parking but it is quite busy as the shopping center hosts a lot of familiar stores. Today I want to try and support small business So try their bbq items. I got the bbq pork, duck and roasted pork. The food was gross. The duck had gray and borderline green color on the meat. Meat was chewy. Ended up not eating it even though I paid extra for it. Bbq pork was not flavorful, doesn't seem it was cooked well since there's no red ring on the outside and charred. It was also dry. Roast pork was cold and not crunchy. Skin was stale even though they cut a vent for the pork. I would skip all 100%. I'm amazed how they can sell this stuff. Service was whatever. Lady in the counter barely spoke English. I was charged extra for my meal when I came during lunch time and it was lunch special. I didn't notice because the receipt was no breakdown. The curry was probably a little too spicy for the younger kids. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the flavor. It reminds me of how the curry in a family run Chinese restaurant would taste. As it was a fish dish, it wasn't too over powering and the sauce helped add some extra weight for the feeling of satiety. I really enjoyed the beef in the noodle soup. Located in the Hmart plaza in Diamond Bar, tasty box is a cute little restaurant located next to Starbucks. You can order to go or dine in. If you take out, everything is packaged beautifully and the food is freshly prepared and handled with care. If you dine in, service has always been wonderful and the Food here is so, so good! We've literally tried everything on the menu here and everything has exceeded other dim sum restaurants in quality/taste/presentation. Because the restaurant itself is on the smaller side, sometimes there's a wait for a table. But there's so much in the shopping place that there are plenty of places to kill time while you wait. We accidentally went to the original Tasty Box and was informed that we were looking for It's sister location in the same plaza next to Starbucks. The staff were super friendly and moved tables for us. She was so nice and brought filtered water for my kids. There are roughly 8 small tables in the tightly packed restaurant. They menu is pretty big and was super excited that they had pan fried sticky rice which is my daughter's favorite. They also had another hard to find item near us, crispy noodles with gravy. There are very few places near us that do this well. We were super happy with everything we got.
