Was craving Taiwanese food and in the neighborhood so decided to stop for lunch. The ho fun was kinda watery with a few pieces of squid; the sliced up pork meat was really tough while the cabbage with the stinky tofu was just okay.

Menu as of 3/15/2026. Prices have gone up a lot since a couple years ago.

Food is decent. Prices have gone up a lot since a couple years ago. Can't believe the popcorn chicken is now $15 ($13 a year ago) and beef stew noodle soup is $17. If they are less pricey, we would come more often.

This is go-to spot for me. I love how cheap the menu is. They serve a variety of dishes, but what I really like are the dry noodles and appetizers. Really great service too. They check in, but never do what a lot of restaurants tend to do and over visit your table. I love how compact everything is too. Good business!

We were nearby in the area and needed a quick meal, and this place fit the bill. If you're looking for a decent, no-frills Taiwanese food, I recommend checking the place out. Ordering was easy and food came out relatively quick. I ordered the sausage rice and my hubby got the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Flavors were good overall. Prices are decent, credit cards are accepted, and there's plenty of parking

If you're craving Taiwanese food and you're near Diamond Bar - 101 Cafe is the place to be. I had all my favorite Taiwanese small dishes and it satisfied my craving. The meat ball reminded me of Taiwan and it was delicious! Not a lot of places actually have it or make it identical. I would drive there just for that. The service is great and the owner is super friendly and sweet! Looking forward to coming back soon!

101 Cafe is a solid 3-star restaurant, but only because I know what I'm expecting. If you're expecting really good Taiwanese food, then it's going to rank lower for you. But 101 Cafe is old school vibe Taiwanese cafe with cheap eats and rustically put together pork chop rices that rings very nostalgic for American-born Taiwanese millennials. What used to be a sub-$10 dish is not $10+ for not much value, but just rings a small part of our childhoods. Come here knowing that you're not getting an incredible meal, but more a meal reminiscent of 1990s/2000s Asian diners. The service isn't great, but it will suffice. It's like if your RBF-faced Asian aunt from Taiwan were nonchalantly taking your order and bringing out the dishes in no particular order, with not a care in the world about anything else. Come for nostalgia, not really for the food.

So glad I chose to ignore all the reviews. The food is pretty good, service was fine, plenty of parking. If you crave Taiwanese food, the flavors here are pretty solid. I ordered the pork chop rice and squid vermicelli. Both were made well. Water is self serve and located near the entrance. Waitress checked on me several times during my visit. Will be returning.

Simple, small space, few tables but we were surprised by the quality of their food we literally cleaned our plates! HOT TEA - loose leaf fresh black tea that tastes well-bodied. We had 3 refills of our pot, it's that good! LIVER SOUP - slivers of liver as so soft to the bite, and the soup is so savory. BITTER "GOURD" PORK - is not really the actual "bittermelon" but the fresh BAMBOO strings sautéed with pork. I love this dish! My husband who's on a diet consumed half of the servings. FRIED PORK CHOP - crunchy outside yet the meat is so tender, bursting with awesome flavors. SCALLION PANCAKE - highly recommended for appetizer. We left with a HAPPY BELLY!

Taiwanese food hold a special place in my heart. This place offered most of the "home cooking" Taiwanese food I would expect. It is set in the other end of the H Mart shopping strip and has ample space for in person dining. I will say that when we first walked in, the strong odor of stinky tofu made me question whether the sewage was leaking...lol... but once you realize it is, in fact, stinky tofu, your nerves, calm down. We ordered food from the waiter and it was out in probably about five minutes. Everything felt and tasted cooked to order and had a good flavor. I did not feel like the place was overly clean, or had any emphasis on cleanliness, but it did not feel dirty, either... Just sort of so-so on the cleanliness part. The guy working the cash register and also taking orders and bringing out the food was friendly and somewhat attentive, including to the other tables. He spoke Mandarin and I suspect some Taiwanese. All in all I would say this is a great place to try if you're in the area and want a Taiwanese home-cooked meal

Total 33. Expensive, small portion, the beef in the braised beef brisket noodles was fried.

A total of 33. Expensive, small portion, the beef in the braised beef brisket noodles was fried, there were 3 pieces of beef in total, 2 of which were inedible.

10 stars for nostalgia cravings satisfied. All the Taiwanese flavors in the nearby area have been overtaken by Chinese flavors so we came to 101 Cafe to get our Taiwanese cravings. Ordering via the QR Code is easy if you know what you want. Boss Lady is real friendly and helped. Saw Almond Tofu and ordered it but they already ran out. Cold Cuts: intestine, chitterlings-excellent with ginger and dipping (jiang you gao). Stirfried Pork Liver taste on, not overcooked and came with oyster mushroom, celery and other yummy veggies. Stinky Tofu good-just wished temperature a notch higher. Oyster Omelet-good flavor, the sauce, the flurry consistency, oyster, Taiwanese bokchoy. And this must be enjoyed as it serves up. Oyster Intestine Combo Noodle (o ah me suao) excuse my terrible Taiwanese pronunciation Iced Black Tea lovely. We also had a few not so Taiwanese dishes: Fried dumplings good crisp. Beef Rolls descent. The Spicy Wontons (Hong You Chao Shou) was a pleasant surprise with the yummy chili oil sauce. My family dipped the fried dumplings and beef rolls and enjoyed the flavor. So thankful to have a Taiwanese Flavors still nearby to enjoy whenever we miss the flavors.

The Taiwanese pork chop rice is always a great choice. The squid pottage noodle is also good. I wouldn't recommend the fried oyster at all - it's dry. The meat ball is glutenous with meat and sauce... I enjoyed it but believe is an acquired taste and texture for others. The server was nice and it's just a small little casual place to eat.

#107 for 2021 After shopping at H-Mart we decided to stop by and have dinner here. Communication wasn't a problem. Point to what you want and raise your fingers with how many you want. Got the pork chop that came with rice, mince meat, half an egg and broccoli. The pork chop was huge battered in rice four. Crispy on the outside. Delicious on the inside. Perfectly cooked broccoli retained its beautiful green color while tender to eat. The sweet mince meat complemented the semi salty pork. The was lightly marinated to give it a golden brown color. Wish it was a full egg. Couldn't finish it all. Luckily my better half finished it. She had the mince meat on rice. Came with broccoli and half an egg. Portion was smaller than what I had. She was totally surprised how much she really liked this dish. That's a surprise because she like savory more than sweet. The menu carries a wide variety of selections sure to satisfy anyone with something. I find the pricing reasonable for what we've had thus far. Drinks, however, I thought was pricey for $1.95 soda can. Indoor seating is not available yet but out door seating is not bad. It was nice in the evening with the sun going down. We sat in the full shade with a nice breeze. It is good to know there is good eats to be had close by after H-Mart shopping.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. Do not waste your time or money here…read more The moment we walked into Fu's Restaurant, it felt like stepping into a sauna. It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.

The price point felt very fair, especially with the dumplings coming in at $14.85. Ambiance was casual and clean, jazz music with nice wall art. The food was good, the scallion pancakes were perfect for splitting between us. I also really appreciated the balanced portion control; it felt like just the right amount of food without being overwhelming. We were only ones in the restaurant near end of business on a Sunday night. Service speed was expected as cook to order. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for a simple and reasonable meal in Walnut or near Mt. San Antonio College. FYI photos are of the wall art, food was devoured.
