Food- I get the Japanese spring rolls and Vegetable rice plate and both are pretty good. Service- I was standing outside at 1055 and they open at 11, the young girl that opened the door did not say hi welcome and no smile- instead she seemed annoyed that a customer was there already. If I was a business owner I would be overly happy that someone was there ready to order as soon as you open for the day!! Then once I walked in she just went to the register and stared at me, she didnt say how can I help you or what would you like. The owners should really have a talk with her because I won't be back over this, there are WAY TOO MANY ASIAN restaurants to act like this and risk loosing customers!! read more

This town has a serious shortage of good hibachi. We tried this place bc my wife wanted hibachi but every local one we have tried have pretty much zero respect for people's time\reservations and we're only planning on have access to a baby sitter for a few hours Saturday. So I figured this could be kind of a middle ground. The actual restaurant in South is pretty bare Bones located in a strip mall not really designed for eating in but there are tables. They gave us a handful of sauces even though there was only one soy sauce and we got two sushi rolls but there was also forks, no offer of chopsticks. They do have a limited number of beverages in a cooler as well. It wasn't bad! And we did order on a Friday night so they were probably busy. We got the steak and shrimp hibachi which was $14. 2 egg rolls for $4. Crab Rangoon for $7 and 2 sushi rolls for $16 and a side of noodles for $4. Noodles sucked. Do not get the noodles. Bleh. Rangoon where ok. Egg rolls where ok. The hibachi was a bit of a let down after all the positive reviews. It was probably 2.5 cups of plain fried rice, almost no vegetables and we got the steak and shrimp. The cheapest sushi rolls seem to be a better bet than the more expensive ones the noodles are a no-go and I don't think I'd get the crab rangoon again. I would probably give the place at 3 and 1/2 but since we don't have that option I'll round it up to 4. read more

First off Sunny Hibachi had the nicest and friendliest staff to meet, greet and take our order. Easy location with plenty of parking. Small restaurant with a few small tables, if you wish to stay there and eat. Now let's get to the food. Prices are VERY reasonable, but with that unfortunately came the old saying "You get what you paid for..." After reading all the great reviews on Yelp my friend and I thought we'd give Sunny's a try. We ordered a tons of food, because one, we were starving when we got there and secondly, the prices were really great. Off of the appetizer menu we ordered the Fried Scallops (10) for $3.65 and the Gyoza (6, pork fried dumplings) for $3.50. The scallops were delicious! I thought they would be small given that you get 10 for just $3.65 but that wasn't the case at all, they were big, fresh, lightly breaded and tender. The Gyoza's were good but not the best we've ever had, and my friend was a little disappointed they didn't have any hot oil sauce to dip them in. For our lunches we both ordered off the Hibachi menu and shared a little of both with each other. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp ($9.69) and my friend ordered the Chicken ($6.79). I also had the Clear soup ($0.75)- I wouldn't suggest getting the Clear soup, it was tasteless and just seemed off. When it comes to our hibachi meals- the rice was really flavorful and good. The vegetables were mainly broccoli was a few small pieces of zucchini. Both the chicken and steak were pretty dry and over cooked. Seemed like they may have been made the day before and reheated, which was pretty disappointing, but the portions were very giving. The shrimp was cold and seemed a little undercooked, which was surprising with the chicken and steak being so over cooked. Over all it was nice to try a new place with a great concept of takeout hibachi but I'm not sure I would go back again- maybe for the scallops. read more

Sorry but I really don't know what people are raving about I came from the city where I had any kind of food available but I missed just regular teriyaki so I googled Teriyaki Rochester and this was on a top ten list just under a place in the wall which I also tried....This was the most flavorless food I have ever had the displeasure of trying they should be marinating in the sauce but it was HUGE dry chunks of flavorless chicken and I am so sad also the prices compared to the pictures on here have doubled so be warned of that. The sushi has also gone up to 6$ and it's 6 bitty little pieces you are better off going to Wegman's not to mention the wasabi smelled like some sort of cleaner and made me feel very ill. I do not recommend and I don't really know how 33 people have. Also the chicken was very little it was mostly 11 bucks for a mountain of rice. read more

It was the bomb until my latest purchase the other night. The meat tasted as if it was boiled then fried using just blood and some salt. Very strange meaty taste, the rice tasted better than the meat. will probably just order the veggie hibachi from now on. There always more rice than meat. Was excited about trying this place after reading the reviews. Let me start with the good: we ordered Chicken, steak and shrimp hibachi and it was delicious. Great portions and tasted amazing. Now the bad: we ordered 2 sushi rolls (spicy salmon and crab w/cream cheese) and they were bleh at best. Definitely not fresh. I would characterize it as sushi served at a local super market. The portions are quite large ( way more than I can eat) and AWESOME for the price. You can watch the chef making the food thru the window and they do have and practice Covid safety measures. My husband and I went there for the first time today for lunch. We were greeted with warm smiles and pleasant conversation by May and her daughter. The place is so clean and tidy and a few nice tables and chairs for anyone to dine in if they choose instead of take out. The food came quickly, within 10 minutes. We decided to eat in instead of take out. The food was served in plastic take out containers which made it very easy to pack up the left overs for another day.( which was necessary due to so much food we could not eat it all) We ordered the Hibachi which was prepared in the kitchen and as an appetizer we got egg drop soup and pork fried dumplings. Everything was delicious and I loved the vegetables with the Hibachi beef, chicken and shrimp. We will definitely be back many many times. read more

This was my first time getting food here and first time for hibachi take out. I got the steak and scallop hibachi which was a large portion that came with rice, mushroom, and broccoli. Everything tasted pretty good. I still have to try the sushi. I have no other place that I know of that serves hibachi take out so I don't have anyplace to compare to, but I would recommend giving them a try. read more

I recently ordered takeout from here and when I picked up I was taken back by it's clean interior and very friendly and welcoming service I was greeted by a friendly lady and who I presume to be her little daughter overall the service was welcoming. On to the food it was a really nice meal I ordered two miso soups, two rice bowls and two sushi rolls for under $30. The rice bowls were about what you would expect for hibachi (pretty good). The miso soup was really good too but the sushi rolls were top notch some of the best I've had in all of Rochester. Overall this is a hidden gem in Greece and you can expect order a good size meal for about $15 and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I moved to Greece a few months ago and my boyfriend and I just kind of saw it out of the corner of our eyes one day in the plaza and decided to give it a try.....BOOOOYYY am I glad we did. This is our new goto take out place! The food is really good! Prices are amazing and I'm getting hibachi restaurant quality food for half the price of the sit down places! Ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi plus the crab rangoon. They have a small sitting area but no actual hibachi tables. Great place if you want the food but not the show. I got mine to go. It was ready in under 10 minutes. Steak was cooked perfectly. Shrimp was soft and not overdone. The rice had a good flavor. I'm not used to be served broccoli with hibachi but squash and mushrooms were also in there. The crab rangoon was good but a little sweet for me. All in all an amazing deal for $12.88. Found this little gem about 2-3 weeks ago. Did not have high expectations for $10 hibatchi steak but it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. We've been 3 more times now and it's always SO yum! Man, where do I start. If you love hibachi but would prefer to have your food prepared fast and without the dancing salt shakers and onion volcano's, this is your place. The food is outstanding. I usually get chicken and steak, and the quality of their meat is even great. I rarely give reviews but i thought this little place deserved it. The people are great too. Comparative to your typical hibachi experience, this place is CHEAP. $9 for chicken and steak hibachi, some other places that would run ya about $24.
