So saddened to write this post, but want to try and help others when dealing with this establishment. Me and my boyfriend LOVE this place! We go in to eat all the time, but that's the key words in this situation i suppose. Don't EVER place an order with this place. I called in to get a 16 oz juice (pictured below, VERY small) and they let me know it would be 5 to 10 minutes. Perfect! I was on a huge time crunch and figured if I called in all would be well and I would be able to have my juice and still get to work on time. WRONG! Once i arrived I was told again that if would be 5 to 10 minutes, which was odd since I had already arrived past my supposed 10 minute mark I had been given on the phone. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and sat down to wait, but after yet ANOTHER 10 minutes had passed I asked again where my SIXTEEN OZ juice was. The guy replies "oh yeah" goes to the back and makes it right then for me. So fast, and easy. So what i'm confused about it why I called in to place an order to avoid that situation and ended up overall waiting 20 minutes PLUS for something that was made very very quickly once I had requested it for the THIRD time. I wasn't offered an apology or anything either, so I am quite upset about the whole thing. My buddy Jon from Jersey turned me on to this place a little while back. He knows I'm a fan of Chicken fried steak. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and never disappointed with it. Sometimes the CFS is better than other times I had it but it is never bad. Staff always seem friendly. Can usually get in fairly quick with a party of 2 with seating at the bar if its available. Its my go to spot now for when I have a craving of CFS and I need to get my fix. The potatoes are ok but don't really taste homemade. My eggs are usually cooked perfectly over medium. I'll be going this weekend as a matter a fact and looking to get my fix before starting my diet! Would definitely recommend to the chicken fried steak lover. read more

I have been coming back here BC its close to where I just moved to. I really like most of the food especially the pancakes. Too many for one person to eat but so yummy. The service has always been top notch also. Im just not a fan of their gravy. Its def their own spin not traditional. And I've also had better bigger portion for the same price range. That is the only reason for 4 stars. Ill keep coming back BC its the best 5 min away from me and they have French vanilla creamer, fresh squeezed oj. Can't beat that! read more

Why did I wait so long to try this place? As a Las Sendas (nearby) resident, I've really wanted to experience more quality local dining. My first experience at Sunnyside today was a complete hit. Where to start - I immediately felt welcomed by a friendly hostess. Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and comfortable. This is an amazing breakfast for a very reasonable price. All the juices, smoothies and cocktails are freshly made by Eric and T is a great asset to their service! The staff is friendly and happy. I have yet to see anyone fuss about their meal, breakfast or lunch. We are note established regulars and happy to have such a nice place to go to. read more

This was my second time to the restaurant and my expectations were high after my 5 star first visit rating. This time was very different. This was our first time dining inside and noone greeted us nor seated us. Our eggs were fried too hard as well as our home fries and they were not seasoned. My bacon was the star and was fried perfectly. My French toast was good. My orange juice was freshly squeezed but the oranges were a little tart, not their best this time. I think they had a different person/people that cooked the food. The waitress was the same as before and she was professional and polite. I will not be going again. I have been going to this place for years and for the last year the service and the food has gone so downhill!! The bartender at the breakfast bar who is apparently the manager is extremely rude and walks around with a frown on her face the whole time, like she is so miserable at her job and is not friendly whatsoever to anybody in the area!! I do not recommend this place at all any longer!!! And as the owner has responded without a doubt they're going to try to respond with a positive attitude though I've been going there for the last year I did not say I had been going every weekend I've been at least three times and all three times I sit at the bar and I get the nasty miserable bartender!! As a business manager you're probably going to stick up for your business and your staff I was not the only person at that bar area today complaining!!!! We were looking through Yelp for a nice breakfast joint on a rainy day and found Sunnyside. Hands down the best breakfast my boyfriend and I have had in a while. He got a Bloody Mary and I got a Mimosa. So good. Breakfast itself was just amazing. He got the crab cake egg benedict and I got the country fried steak. I am troubled by the poor reviews! This is a great breakfast place. I have always had an excellent meal, the coffee is good and they have flavored creamers! Food is fresh and they make their own sausage and chorizo. They have a wide variety of juice concoctions if you like that sort of thing. Oh, and you can get Mimosas! They are very tech savvy with the order taker using a tablet - welcome to the present! The staff are friendly and keep your coffee cup full. See Luis or Jamie - super friendly wait staff make the visit so much more enjoyable. You can't give a low rating because a place is busy folks! read more

He kept our coffee hot and when it was time for breakfast, he had it on the table while it was so hot that I'd swear I cooked it at home! One star based off my recent visit. I was taking my 3 kiddos into the restaurant to grab some breakfast and finish up some of their school work. They were eating half of a sandwich to hold them over (ravenous growing kiddos) and I had my coffee from this morning that I still hadn't finished in my hand. Before someone even said hello I was told no outside food or drink, I said no problem and that my kids could finish their 2 more bites of sandwich outside (although how dehuminizing) and then she told me I could leave my coffee cup with her at the front. What?! You're taking my coffee cup from me? I decided to leave at this point. If you're too concerned with 1 cup of coffee you don't need my business I guess. I had 3 big kids ....I would have happily ordered plenty of food! When someone makes just sitting down that hard you can tell you're not welcome. Tried to come here for breakfast with my family. I bring my own water everywhere because it's arizona! I was told for the first time ever (we eat out a lot) that I could not bring it in. We left. Update: this place is starting to go the other way- FAST. Ordered their special past week which was a 12 oz steak and eggs. The steak was a good cut of beef but GOOD GRIEF it wasn't even heated up. It was literally cold and taken straight out of the fridge. It was coagulated and disgusting. I brought it to the attention of the mgr who calls himself "Chef John" who took it away himself and then brought it back 5 minutes later and said, "I took care of it personally this time." This time the steak was warm on the outside and still cold and coagulated on the inside. I tried to be a good soldier and not say anything the second time, but I couldn't help myself. Also- magically- the potatoes now are mushy and low quality and seem like they're from a pre made frozen bag. Too bad- starting to be just another Mesa dive. We won't be back. read more

Service and decor is on point ^from years ago From recently: Potatoes clearly cooked from frozen (which is fine, I just don't want to be able to taste the freezer!) and our waitress was basically useless.
