We were greeted warmly and offered to take any table as only a couple other tables were taken. The restaurant is clean and homey with a European/ French influence in some of the food items and decor. The soft jazz playing added to the French bistro vibe. Being our first visit, we chatted with the new owner who took over from her sister. She was very friendly and engaging. When asked why beignets were on the menu she said because she loved them and travels to visit family in France on the regular. We ordered one to try and it was just like what you find at Cafe Du Monde in Jackson Square. The croissants looked tempting and like what we've had in French restaurants, but we didn't have any. The menu is undergoing a few changes expanding the breakfast offerings but will retain most of the menu items. The server was also very friendly, thorough and checked on us several times. He was also very engaging and helped us with the menu. I had the Western Omelet, potatoes and toast (brioche). The "European Butter blend" had a much better flavor than the usual packaged butter. The omelet was good and the salsa very tasty, but not spicy. My wife loved that they offered "Small Bites" for smaller appetites. She had 1 egg (cooked a perfect over medium), 2 slices of bacon and French toast (1 slice cut in half). She enjoyed her meal. We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. read more

It's a no-frills kind of place. Great hospitality. Generous portions. The salmon and avocado toast was substantial and piled with fresh ingredients. My hamburger steak was lightly seasoned, not overly salted, and so tender. The mushrooms and the onions were wonderful toppings. I like how they do their scrambled eggs, and you can taste the butter, but in a good amount. They used Kllr coffee for the cold brew. This is a definite try and we WILL be back. The "off menu" Philly Cheesesteak is a mouth watering delicacy with creamy cheese, flavorful meat and crisp bun. When this place first opened, we couldn't get enough of it. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was decent as well. The place was clean and well-stocked. It was great. Over time, we have stopped going here because of the terrible service and the high prices. We went again last week to give it a shot and the service was still awful. You have to ask for drink refills. You have to remind them that you didn't get things that you ordered. The waitress sends other staff to ask us questions because she appears to be too scared to follow up with her own customers. She stared at us blankly when we asked if they have the good sweet vanilla coffee creamer. I actually had to ask if she understands what I'm saying because her blank stare went on for a while. They take forever to come back and check on you after dropping off the food, if they ever even come back. She brings the ticket while I've still got a full plate of food and says "no rush at all," but then she never came back lol. Ugh! I'm just over it at this point. Unfortunately, the incompetent staff have ruined this place for us. And, the icing on the cake is that they no longer have my fav coffee creamer. We're just done. I've had The Hive Eatery on my list of breakfast places to try for a while now, and I finally had the chance to check it out. The food was solid, but not spectacular. I tried the honey chicken biscuit, and I would eat that again. My tablemates tried the loaded biscuits and gravy and a fried chicken breakfast. I should have tried the gravy so I would know for sure, but it didn't look homemade to me, and that is a critical part of a good breakfast in my opinion. Heard about this place and so one night I decided to check it out. I had the burger and fries which was really quite enjoyable. One of the things I love is that I got to add a fried egg on top of my burger. A lot of places don't do that, but it really does help the flavor. If the order was not so completely wrong I might believe it, but even the parts that we got were wrong.. SUPER RUDE and unprofessional as well. This place is rushing roulette and I will never update this review again. There is no fixing it. I had the pleasure of visiting today, Erica was our waitress. She was very attentive, checked on us continuously. After reading some of the reviews, I'd like to update y'all on some of the changes. It wasn't quite, they actually had a great selection of music playing. The menu is very detailed oriented! If you don't like cheese on your biscuit and gravy, don't order it. They have a few different biscuit and gravy options, all are detailed thoroughly! We tried the avocado and salmon toast along with byob 4 selections. The toast was absolutely amazing! Smoked salmon tasted delicious complimented the toast well. The tomatoes on the side added a fresh hit on the side. The byob we built consisted of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes! I had it with Impossible sausage and tried both the creamy and poblano gravy. Both are excellent. My husband doesn't do pork, so I didn't try the sausage gravy. He got the chicken and waffle: very good waffle, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Chicken breast was lightly battered and very flavorful. All was drizzled with our favorite Mike's Hot Honey. Then, we got the pick 4: sweet cream pancakes, French toast, biscuit and gravy and potatoes. All were very good and well seasoned. Visited this location before when it was The Hash. Seems like similar idea with healthy food options and portions. The decor was cleaner and more of the farmhouse appeal. The setup table and chairs displayed many options i.e booths, short or longer for various eating options. It didnt seem crowded because the cashier is at the back of restaurant, instead of at the front door. A very cozy welcoming environment. I ordered from the small portion menu for lunch and received a rather large portion with a side. The appearance of the food was hot and fresh. I was surprised by portion and very pleased with meal. My friend ordered french toast but got pancakes instead and she was okay with it. Overall wait staff was patient, attentive and pleasant. My husband and I came here for the first time today because I specifically heard they have great omelets and he is doing a low-carb diet. I ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy and he ordered the "which came first" omelet. Starting with the omelet review, very disappointing. There was almost no cheese in it and it was completely flavorless. My husband let me try it and I was amazed at the lack of flavor. It tasted like plain eggs. The chicken in it was so processed that it didn't stand out at all and had no flavor. The fruit was good that came with it though and the toast was okay. They don't have any of their own jams, just pre-packaged stuff. The biscuits and gravy came out with American singles on it (ewww). The sausage on it was also low quality. The gravy was okay, nothing special. The biscuits themselves were tasty, if they had better jams I might come just for biscuits and jam. If service had been good that might have turned the situation around for us. No one was friendly and our server never checked on us and it took forever to get our checks after we asked for them and there were not a lot of other tables. We did see other patrons with different orders that looked better than what we got. However, how hard is it to make an omelet tasty? They screwed up my wife's order, but to give them credit, the food was good and they didn't charge us for our meals.
