I was helped by Thiago who took care of my truck! We had a misfire happening and they changed my sparked plugs and even one of the bad coils we had too. The service was fast and since we made an appointment online, they were able to have our truck done as soon as we got done with lunch. TLDR: when purchasing a car, double check the TOTAL purchase price on all the paperwork to make sure you are not being charged an extra $7000 for warranty packages. I live 2 hours away but drove here because they had the car I wanted. they offered a quote for monthly payment which I thought were a little high but thought it was because of 1: my credit 2: small down payment and 3: 72 month finance. I was like alright lets do it. then I was transferred to the finance guy. the finance guy kept pushing extra extended warranty packages and I kept refusing. he made some calls and finally said "I can get you the packages for the same monthly we quoted you for." I agreed, not knowing that they already included $7000 worth of optional packages in the initial monthly quote. ($7000 split over 72 months is about $97 extra/month) I was prob an easy target since I'm too trusting and also told them I was in a rush, since I had a baby at home I needed to get back to before his bedtime. got home and saw the paperwork and saw the $7000 charge. called in to cancel and get a refund and they said I would need to come back in person to fill out paperwork. after driving another 4 hours round trip and waiting weeks for the paperwork to go through, the charges were canceled and refunded. but it's just the beginning. the $7000 is refunded to the lender, but the monthly payments stays the same inflated rate until the loan is paid off. there's even a term for this, found it on the california consumer attorney's site: "Payment Packing" is when a car dealer quotes you an inflated monthly payment. Example: If your actual payment on a loan is $300 per month for 60 months, the dealer might get you to agree to pay $350 per month.After you agree to the inflated payment, the finance person will tell you that he can add a warranty, or GAP, or other products, and keep your payment the same. Your real payment is much lower, and the warranty and other products are increasing it. Beware if a dealer offers you products or services "for free." Chances are, you are paying for it. being too trusting that they would be transparent with everything was my mistake and now I'll be paying $97/month extra for that mistake for 5+ years. hope this saves you from making the same mistake! read more

These guys are shady and evasive. I spoke to a salesperson on the phone and made an offer for a vehicle. He agreed to speak to his manager and get back to me with a counter offer or an agreement. I called back an hour later to talk to the salesperson but another salesperson answered the phone. He told me the other salesperson was busy and insisted I make the offer through him. I told him I was already in the process with another salesperson and awaiting a return call. He again refused to find the salesperson and insisted that I deal solely with him. I told him I was uncomfortable cutting out the original salesman and that I already was in the process of the sale. He still insisted. When I asked to speak to the sales manager, he hung up on me. Terrible service and accountability after damaging my vehicle. Car went in for normal oil change and tire rotation on 8/14/23, shortly the same day, started having ABS/TCS issues. They went away and came back intermittently through the week, a total of 4 times. I checked the codes and all came back with a wheel sensor. I contacted service and was set to be seen in about 1.5 weeks as they were busy/ short staffed. Went in for the follow up, explaining the issue that I went into the service with zero issues, and after they did something in my wheel well, I was now experiencing failures in a tire sensor. The service advisor gave me a warning that i would be charged a diagnostic fee of $260, which was silly, but I agreed with the idea being they caused the issue, they cover cost. After they took a look, the service advisor approached and confirmed it was the wheel sensor. I told him I would not be paying for the repair or diagnostic fee as they were responsible. He irritatingly replied with, "Sure, I dont want to play games, ill waive the diagnostic fee, but it will be $300 to repair." After further refusing this, he angrily walked away. The next issue was that he insisted it was "impossible" for them to have broken it. I then asked for the service manager (Larry M) who was away and out of office for the day but "would contact you by 4pm". I continued to try and escalate as I would not be paying for damage caused by them. Apparently i have the worst of luck as no manager was on site AT ALL on 9/8/23. So they offered me two options; Agree to pay for the $300 repair, and then attempt to recoup my money. or Leave my car until I could speak with a manager who wouldn't even be available until 4pm, when the service tends to close around 4:30-5pm, not knowing if I would be able to have my car back for the weekend. After exhaustingly trying to contact any management, which i was unable to get a hold of, and insisted upon, again, that management would be free around 4pm (they never called me back), I picked up my car from the service advisor and a tech, who once again, told me it was "impossible" for them to have damaged the sensor. I ended up picking up the sensor from oreillys for $40 and doing the repair myself, and finding the old "impossible to damage" cable very clearly damaged. I am still waiting to hear back about any sort of compensation or admittance of wrong doing from the dealership, and will never be returning so long as they keep aggressive and rude service advisors, unable to admit fault. Can you give negative stars? Here is my story. It still burns. We are the original owner of a Ford Fusion which was dropped off at Sunnyvale Ford on 20 July for routine maintenance; oil and filter change, tire rotation and multipoint maintenance check. The car was returned  and payment was completed for the service around 4:30 pm the same day. All normal up to this point. Drove less than two miles toward home and experienced a severe reduction in engine power and was passed by several vehicles as the car slowed down on a very busy El Camino Real. Noises were heard from the engine that sounded like nuts and bolts rattling around. Then white smoke poured from the exhaust. Turned right on Pastoria to get out of traffic and pulled to the side of the road. Inspected the car and checked the oil. The indication on the dipstick showed there was little to no oil in the engine. CSAA was called to tow the vehicle to the Sunnyvale Ford Dealership. They arrived an hour later. Tow truck driver confirmed that the oil was low or not present. Larry, the service manager called and apologized profusely for overfilling the car with oil. Overfilling? I am now in a pissing contest over repair actions. Sunnyvale Ford changed(?) the oil again and put in new spark plugs. They claim it drives fine and bonus, no more white smoke which cleared quickly during their test drive. I said I no longer trust the engine. Their comment, "it's a 2009". Jim, the General Manager, this is not a blame game. Flaccid response. I will start the escalation process now. Additionally, we were told to pay for parts that they do not have in stock in advance to complete a recommended front brake and right axel repair. Kris in service said this is how they do it now. I paid 80 k for a fancy car and the engine was broken. I couldn't drive the car out of the city for over 9 months. Winter break, spring break left our family on the side off the road with very sad kids. They sold me all type of warranties at a high price and that's how they made me deal with all the car issues. I don't wish this on anyone, do your due diligence and bring a mechanic. Don't buy more warranties than you need, dents and ding doesn't cover much. They sound great but just called one and it basically cover nothing, pretty much what roadside assistance covers for me. I would like to post an update, in a good faith gesture to Eric, the Sales Manager and Chris, our salesman. We ordered our Mach-E California Route 1 in January and were able to pick the vehicle up today. We were able to pick the car up after some brief discussion at a price point that was similar to what it would have cost when the tax credit was double what it was now. Eric was aware of the issue that I had before during our past visit, and worked with us to get to a price point that we were comfortable with. I would like to thank him for his sincerity and his commitment to making us whole, and I hope that others are treated with the same respect moving forward. Just some quick tips: 1) If you order online, the MSRP that you see in the order should match the MSRP in the price estimate you are given 2) Ask about the fees, not every addition is mandatory and you should research online about what possible additions can make their way to the pricing, separate from the MSRP 3) We were given a $2k rebate, so not sure if there are buyers who are on the fence, but this may be a deciding factor 4) Ask about the warranty. The extended warranty can be pretty decent if you can negotiate something long term like 10 years/125k miles. Shop around and google ford extended warranty to see what you can find. California does not allow out of state purchases for these warranties in a lot of cases, but you should be able to find some pricing comps if you do it a bit of digging read more

We will never purchase another Ford again. We are the original owners of our 2015 ford edge and have been getting regular maintenance at the service location here and always had great service with no issues until we got to 100k miles. We had the 100k maintenance recently done and the only issue found was a small oil leak. However a week later we had new issues and more issues right after that. In total we will have just spent 6k on maintenance and service. It's too convenient so many new issues showed up right after making it to 100k miles and maintenance didn't reveal any of the other issues at the time but showed up a week after maintenance was done. Took my car to get regular maintenance and left with a ruined vehicle, managers are unprofessional workers are unprofessional. Had to get my brand new car towed from my home back to them because they ruined the system. Refused to admit they ruined my vehicle. Had my car for more than a week, put in over 30 miles into my car while having it workers took my vehicle to drive home. I'll attach pictures below. However unfortunately when calling service departments here, girl who picks up the phone sits at a sales area so she has no idea which service advisor is working. All she can do is transfer the call to any advisors of which non of them are at their desk to answer any questions. I asked the girl nicely to see if anyone is available to answer a quick warranty repair question but she was reluctant to leave her post which is at the other side of the building to check if anyone is working. (Time was 1:40 so.. most lunch break is over I assume). Seems like this dealership service center runs on good old fashioned walk in only. If you have a telephone call question, just forget about it they don't answer. (All 4 of them in Service) Called manager directly left VM no return call. Your car is stranded, need questions answered? Not a place to call IMO. Bringing this back to top, i hope. My spring break family vacation was dashed by a greedy dealership and a dishonest salesman. Like many baby boomers I was excited to order a new 2022 Bronco more than a year ago. We were going to take this down to Baja for desert off-roading. When it arrived 6 months later at Sunnyvale Ford I was so excited. That's when the BS started. First it came equipped with a soft-top. I had specifically ordered a hard top as it was needed for use in Baja. The salesman pulled the order record and verified that it should have come with a hard-top. I was also blown away by the dealership markup of more than $6,000. I had no warning about this and really couldn't believe it. The first thing I negotiated with Ibrahim, the salesman, was that they would replace the soft-top with the hard-top I had ordered. We went back and forth on this and Ibrahim did the requisite "let me talk to my manager", which he did. When he returned he agreed. Next we negotiated the insane markup down to $5,000. He again had to talk to the manager about this. All said and done out the door was about $70k. After taking delivery, the dealership has since decided to ignore what the salesman Ibrahim promised to me. I really expected honesty and good service from Sunnyvale Ford. I guess Ford no longer follows the values that it was founded on. Instead, just get as much as you can from the customer when you have a hot vehicle in demand. 10/25/22 I am here again for my regular maintenance for my Lincoln Navigator. I lost Ronnie and Marcus who left the company. I met Isaac today who took over and is now servicing my car. He was very accommodating on the phone prior to this meeting today. I am waiting in their Lounge and believe it or not there is no coffee being served. I will expect this small perk to come back soon. One more thing: I want to comment about why the Lincoln Navigator left this dealership where I bought my current Navigator. Went in for an oil change. Had an appointment at 11am. It's 1:07pm and it's still not done. Should not take more than 2 hours for an oil change!! When I spoke to the "advisor", she told me that a bunch of people have been coming in for an oil change today. I asked, "did they have an appointment?" She said no. So, in other words, you are prioritizing people who just walk in for an oil change, instead of someone who has an actual appointment? If you need an oil change, go somewhere else. They overcharge anyway! Update: The car was finished at 1:45pm. Almost 3 hours for an oil change even with an appointment. Seriously, go somewhere else! 3/1/23 My visit today is to have my Lincoln Navigator Tail Light cover replaced. I have a new Service Adviser Bao Nguyen who told me he will take care of my service needs going forward so hope it's a good beginning especially when he is new here (2 months). He seems to be very attentive and friendly. They ordered an Uber ride for me but the wait is taking a while longer than expected. It's 12:10 pm. Bought a used Kia in June 2023. Process was smooth. Only good thing. Our previously owned Kia had been stolen and I was looking for a replacement. I specifically chose to buy from a branded dealership v. a individual or a used car lot to ensure I was dealing with reputable people. WRONG. Since I only needed this 7 year old car to get me through the next year, I was not interested in spending 25% of the sales price on an 'extended warranty.' Instead, I checked the Carfax and asked to see their internal inspection/service report on the vehicle in preparation for sale. It showed ONLY a very standard oil change. Long story short, a month later, the engine seized up, filled with shredded metal. Turns out as they pulled the engine a part, the mechanics learned that a new oil PUMP had been installed which almost never happens. It IS done to artificially increase the oil pressure in a vehicle that is failing. The added pressure keeps the bearings in fluid and in motion, halting the breakdown. Once the car was under extended use, ie a road trip, the pump could no longer cover for the failing engine. Entirely NEW engine work had to be done. When I followed up with Sunnyvale Ford, none of the 8 people I left voice messages for or emailed responded. Only when I called out that they fraudulently represented this vehicle by not disclosing that they had installed a new oil pump did they respond with "you should have bought the warranty." Nothing else. Go Elsewhere. read more

There was a mix up about the height of our Transit requiring a special service bay, but Haris was extremely professional about making it right for us. One of my neighbors works in the service department and has been there for years because it is a great place to work and a great team of people. I have been going there for years, including a Ford Cmax hybrid before the Transit. Servicing vehicles today is incredibly complex, with computers, sensors, software, and nuclear launch codes. I brought my 1.5 year old hybrid truck in for a routine oil change and check engine light, that the app said was an exhaust gas recirculation issue. This was a Friday morning, I told them keeping over the weekend wasn't a problem. Monday, at 3 pm, I called for an update. Ford rep said they would call me back. When I got called back, the customer service rep, started the conversation by telling he was calling me on his day off. How is this my problem, I just want an update on my truck that was supposed to be done. He then tells me they did a few recalls and the oil change, but can't figure out the check engine light. So they want to keep it for another day. Tuesday there is no communication from Ford, but my app alerts me to my battery being put into sleep mode to conserve. Then Wednesday the rep calls me, to tell me my 1.5 year old battery is dead and WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE, in order to fix my truck, I have to buy a new $189 battery. I asked why and how does a new battery die that fast, " it happens sometimes " was his answer, so I said I guess I have no choice. Thursday, I get a call saying I need to replace the check engine light detector, it is faulty and that's why it's alarming, another $25 charge. I also question the battery. Because how does a new hybrid truck battery not have problems until 4 days after it was in Ford's custody. I mentioned I feel like I'm being scammed. Again I have to accept the charges if I want my truck fixed. Friday I get a call and turns out the check engine light wasn't faulty, and a small exhaust leak was detected, but another $260 test was going to need to be performed to detect where the leak was located. Once it was located, with labor and parts, I walked out with a $400+ bill. On the miracle side, they were magically able to charge my unchargeable battery to 70%, so I don't need to replace yet(felt like a scam to keep my battery for themselves, and make me buy a new one at full price). In the end I have pictures of all the problems on the app. The time stamp of my supposed battery problems, when in Ford's custody. I will never buy another Ford in my life, I will attempt to trade this maverick hybrid asap. Also tell everyone I know to stay specifically away from Sunnyvale Ford crooks. read more

Just got back from Sunnyvale Ford and I can happily say they were able to take care of me. How? I went in on Friday and talked to a different tech Kristofer. At first he seemed resistant but as I continued he actually showed that he was sympathetic. I mentioned the trick that my out of town parts friend told me about and that piqued his curiosity. He went away three separate times and finally came back and said "I found the number I can use to get this going." Turns out the passenger buckle number works where the drivers does not. Who knew. He called parts, got them to order the part and said "come back on Monday." Obviously I was a bit skeptical given how all the other techs at dealers like Capitol and Frontier handled this but I'm very happy to say that when I showed up at 8am this morning, Kristofer came out and said "yep, we got the part, let me get your truck into the tech." He offered me an Uber but I knew it was a pretty short fix modulo the other cars they had to work on so I waited it out. About 90 minutes later he texted and said it was done and there would be $0 charge! While I was waiting I talked to Larry the service manager and thanked him for how Kristofer helped me. I told him it's rare these days to find someone like Kristofer who will take the time to empathize with the customer and actually be driven to find a solution even when it's difficult. As it turns out, Larry was the person Kristofer was talking to those three times he left and came back. So, happy ending, thankfully Sunnyvale Ford has service techs like Kristofer who don't just push buttons. And thankfully they have Service Managers like Larry who know how to deal with the system when it has "glitches" like this and know how to take care of the customer. I will happily recommend Sunnyvale Ford service over Frontier Ford and Capitol Ford any day. Ironically, Capitol is close to my house and Frontier is on my way too and from work. I will happily go out of my way to see them next time. Including when I'm ready to buy another car. Original Review (leaving this text here to illustrate that this was an odd problem that many service techs weren't willing to dive into and try to solve): Bought my Ranger here in 2019. A week ago my seat belt buckle stopped holding the seat belt in. Truck is less than 5 years old, less than 60K miles so according to the warranty docs the "safety belt buckle" is to be covered. In addition, I have an extended Ford Premium Care warranty (8 years 150K miles) and the docs say it's covered too. The system the Ford tech use say the parts not covered. I've had one tech online say it's because the part is misclassified. Another parts person from out of town suggest the "body code" for the "base part" number is wrong and if you change just that the system says it's covered. But, the service techs continue to say they can't do anything, won't call and help escalate to anyone. If the Ford warranties don't honor a critical part like the seat belt buckle when they say they do, what else won't they honor? read more
